Snug Life Camping Introduce

For those seeking a departure from traditional crowded campgrounds, Snug Life Camping in Wilton, New Hampshire, offers a tranquil sanctuary that blends the rugged beauty of the Granite State with the comforts of "glamping." Nestled on a sprawling 52-acre private estate known as Streeter Mountain Farm, this destination provides a unique opportunity for locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in a diverse landscape. As a women-owned and LGBTQ+ owned business, it prides itself on being a transgender safe space and an inclusive environment for all outdoor enthusiasts, including families and dog lovers.

Snug Life Camping is not just a place to pitch a tent; it is a multi-faceted property that functions as an organic farm and a certified family forest. The site is designed for those who appreciate permaculture and restorative agriculture, allowing guests to stay on working land that prioritizes environmental stewardship. Whether you are looking for a magical winter camping experience or a lush summer retreat by the water, this Wilton gem offers a secluded atmosphere that makes you feel miles away from civilization while remaining conveniently located in Southern New Hampshire.

The location and accessibility of Snug Life Camping make it an ideal weekend getaway for residents of the Monadnock region and beyond. Situated at 151 Captain Clark Highway in Wilton, NH 03086, the campground is approximately 65 miles from Boston and a short drive from major New Hampshire hubs like Nashua and Manchester. The property sits directly on the banks of the Souhegan River, offering picturesque waterfront views and the soothing sounds of flowing water throughout your stay.

Upon arrival, guests will find on-site parking. However, it is important to note that the primary campsites are tucked away to preserve their secluded nature. For the "Clearing" site, visitors should prepare for a short 1/4 mile hike from the parking area to the riverfront. To assist with gear, the hosts typically provide wheelbarrows or garden carts, ensuring that the transition from your vehicle to your wilderness home is manageable. The surrounding area is rich with local history, including the nearby Nissitissit Bridge in Brookline, which is a popular destination for those willing to explore the trails extending from the farm.

The services offered at Snug Life Camping are tailored to provide a "user-friendly" camping experience. By focusing on quality over quantity, the property maintains only a few sites to ensure every guest enjoys maximum privacy and direct access to the river. The services include:

  • Campsite rentals starting at approximately $120.00 for glamping units.
  • Self check-in via secure lockbox for a seamless and private arrival.
  • Wheelbarrow and garden cart provision for transporting camping equipment.
  • On-site waste management coordination to support "Leave No Trace" camping.
  • Guided information regarding the organic farm and permaculture practices.
  • Pet-friendly accommodations, specifically welcoming to dog-enthusiasts.
  • Seasonal winter camping options for those equipped for cold-weather wilderness stays.

The features and highlights of the property are what truly define the "Snug Life" experience. The site is famous for its "The Snuggle is Real" philosophy, emphasizing comfort and connection with nature. Depending on which site you book—the glamping tent or the clearing—you can expect various amenities designed to enhance your stay:

  • Spacious canvas-walled glamping tents featuring bunk beds and cozy furniture.
  • Indoor wood-burning stoves in the glamping units to keep the space toasty during chilly New Hampshire nights.
  • Private riverfront clearings perfect for setting up personal tents right on the water’s edge.
  • Dedicated fire pits at each site, often equipped with cooking grill grates.
  • Raised Adirondack chairs and front porches for optimal river viewing.
  • Riverside picnic tables and prep stations featuring built-in bottle openers and food storage boxes.
  • A "camp-loo" or half-bath facility located near the camping areas for convenience.
  • Access to private hiking areas and walking trails within the 52-acre certified forest.

To plan your visit or inquire about the current season's availability, you can find Snug Life Camping at their physical address: 151 Captain Clark Hwy, Wilton, NH 03086, USA. While they have traditionally used a primary contact number of (978) 582-6612, they are also highly active on social media platforms under the handle @SnugLifeCamping. It is recommended to check their official booking pages on Airbnb or Hipcamp for the most up-to-date reservation calendars, as they occasionally pause new bookings to coordinate with local fire officials for safety compliance.

What is worth choosing about Snug Life Camping is the sheer authenticity of the experience. Unlike large-scale commercial parks, this is a deeply personal project run by hosts who live on the land and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive haven. Choosing this site means supporting a local organic farm while enjoying a "magical" wilderness atmosphere that is rare to find so close to the city. For those who value privacy, the limited number of sites ensures you won't be bothered by noisy neighbors, making it the perfect spot for reflection, romance, or family bonding.

Furthermore, the flexibility of the site is a major draw. You can choose a "roughing it" experience in the clearing or opt for the luxury of a canvas tent with a bed and a heater. While some older reviews have mentioned the challenges of staying in a wilderness tent (such as the presence of local wildlife like mice), more recent visitors in 2026 have praised the "magical" quality of the wilderness experience. For the best stay, it is always wise to bring your own bedding and prepare for the rustic nature of an off-grid farm. If you are looking for a place where you can truly "unplug, unwind, and enjoy the quiet" of the Souhegan River, Snug Life Camping is undoubtedly worth the choice.

The location is stunning. Tent is infested with large mice, droppings on all surfaces and mold. Strange that all reviews are years old! Airbnb hides reviews and so doesn't hipcamp. PLEASE be safe staying in this tent. Our stay was 4-9-2021
