Friendly Beaver Campground Introduce

For families throughout the Granite State looking for a getaway that combines the rustic charm of New Hampshire with resort-style amenities, Friendly Beaver Campground in New Boston is a destination that truly lives up to its name. For over 38 years, this family-owned and operated park has served as a cornerstone of the local camping community. It is a place where time seems to slow down, allowing parents to unplug and children to rediscover the joy of outdoor play. Whether you are a seasoned RVer or a family looking to try out a camping cabin for the first time, the atmosphere here is designed to be welcoming, energetic, and safe. Under dedicated management, the campground has consistently been recognized by local readers and travelers as a premier choice for family-oriented recreation.

What sets Friendly Beaver Campground apart from more secluded, primitive sites is its bustling, community-centric environment. The park is a hive of activity, especially during the peak summer months when the air is filled with the laughter of children and the scent of evening campfires. It is particularly well-suited for those who enjoy social camping, offering a variety of themed weekends—from "Christmas in July" to "Family Mardi Gras"—that bring the whole community together. For local New Hampshire residents, it serves as a reliable "home away from home" where seasonal campers and weekend visitors alike can enjoy a well-maintained infrastructure and a staff that treats every guest like an old friend.

Location and accessibility are key advantages for guests visiting Friendly Beaver. Nestled at 298 Old Coach Rd in the quaint town of New Boston, NH, the campground is strategically positioned for easy access from major hubs like Manchester and Amherst. For those traveling with horses or dogs for shows, its proximity to American K-9 Country in Amherst makes it an ideal base camp. The entrance and main facilities are designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and parking lots. While the roads leading into the historic town of New Boston are scenic and winding, the campground itself is equipped to handle "big rigs" with clean, obstacle-free pull-through sites that make arrival and setup a breeze for any driver.

  • Full hookup RV sites with well-maintained 20, 30, and 50 amp electric and water connections.
  • Clean and spacious camping cabins capable of sleeping up to six guests.
  • On-site services including professional pump-out services for short-term stays.
  • A large, well-stocked general store providing everything from groceries to soft-serve ice cream.
  • Modern, fully tiled individual restrooms and hot showers.
  • Two laundry areas equipped with high-capacity machines for guest convenience.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi available throughout the main sections of the park.
  • Comprehensive payment options including credit, debit, and NFC mobile payments.

The features at Friendly Beaver Campground are specifically curated to keep active families engaged regardless of the weather. One of the crown jewels of the property is the swimming complex, which boasts three outdoor pools—including a wading pool for toddlers and a sports pool with basketball hoops—plus a heated indoor pool that remains open year-round. For animal lovers, the on-site petting zoo features goats, horses, and chickens that are always a hit with the younger crowd. The recreation halls provide a sanctuary for rainy days, offering video games for teens and organized crafts for children, ensuring the fun doesn't stop when the clouds roll in.

  • Four swimming pools: Three outdoor seasonal pools and one heated indoor pool.
  • Interactive petting zoo with friendly farm animals for children to feed and enjoy.
  • Two large playgrounds, with a brand-new set specifically geared toward younger children.
  • Expansive sports fields for baseball, basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes.
  • Themed activity weekends featuring hayrides, dances, and professional comedy shows.
  • Dedicated hiking trails that wind through the beautiful New Boston woodlands.
  • The "Beaver Hut Cafe," serving breakfast and snacks during the peak season.
  • Pet-friendly policies that allow you to bring your leashed dogs along for the trip.

To plan your next New Hampshire adventure, you can reach Friendly Beaver Campground at (603) 487-5570. The physical address is 298 Old Coach Rd, New Boston, NH 03070, USA. While the park is open year-round for those who enjoy the beauty of the New England winter, the peak summer season fills up quickly. It is highly recommended to call ahead for reservations, especially for holiday weekends which often feature an additional fee but provide a packed schedule of events that make the investment well worth it.

What is worth choosing at Friendly Beaver Campground is the peace of mind that comes with a truly family-centric environment. Unlike some parks that cater to a more adult-only or transient crowd, Friendly Beaver has built its legacy on being a "kid-first" destination. It is the ideal choice for parents who want their children to have a "traditional" camping experience—complete with playground scrapes and melting ice cream—while still having the comfort of clean bathrooms and an indoor pool as a backup. Choosing a pull-through site here means choosing ease and reliability, allowing you to focus on making memories rather than struggling with site hookups.

Furthermore, the location is worth choosing for its balance of seclusion and convenience. You are deep enough in the New Hampshire woods to hear the crickets and see the stars, but close enough to Manchester to visit the See Science Center if the rain persists. The campground’s commitment to safety and its "friendly" reputation makes it a top-tier choice for those who value a respectful, quiet nighttime environment where the only noise is the sound of families enjoying themselves. For those looking for a seasonal site or a quick weekend getaway, Friendly Beaver Campground remains one of the most consistent and cherished outdoor destinations in the state.

The staff are friendly and courteous, check-in was easyOur pull through site was clean and obstacle free. Electric and water hookups were well maintained. The only noise we heard was the sound of children playing and having fun, as it should be at a family campground. Its location is fairly close to Amherst, NH where American K-9 Country is located and makes a great base camp. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed here with my family in April- off season, so that may effect our experience. The staff was kind and helpful and most of the seasonal campers were friendly. We did have an incident with one man who was hanging out behind our camper late night which made me uncomfortable. The campground says its family friendly but I found the amenities for kids lacking. The "kids rec room" had two video games and some TVs. The indoor pool was great, and the outdoor pools looked really nice. The playground closest to us looked brand new and was beautiful, but was definitely geared towards younger kids. The second playground was better for older kids, but didn't have much. I'm sure there are more activities available during the actual camping season.Bathrooms were relatively clean, but smelled strange. The store had a lot of stuff but most of it looked out of date. Also of note, there are no sewer hookups for short term stays but they do offer pump out services for $15.It rained a lot while we were there, there isn't much for kids in the area so we did travel to Manchester to go to the See Science museum, which wasn't far away and was a good option for rainy day kids activities.

Camped in a tent for a couple of nights with my husband and 3yo. Was happy with our site. Large site for tents. It was off the main road but still close to bathrooms which were kept very clean. People were friendly. Lots of kids out biking and exploring. My 3yo liked both playgrounds and the pool. A few activities thru the weekend we participated that were ok. My interactions with staff were ok. Store was reasonably priced and had everything we forgot and needed. It’s mostly seasonal sites with golf carts driving thru the campground way too fast. Speed limit is 5 but both seasonal ppl and staff would drive around much faster making biking for the kids a bit less fun having to constantly get out of the way. And I mean constant flow of golf carts until quiet hours start. Which wasn’t till 11pm! First night there was a large group both kids and adults screaming until 11pm. Sounded like they may have been playing manhunt or something like that. Even with quiet hours starting late I thought it was completely disrespectful how loud ppl were. I’m not saying I won’t return….but I’m going to explore some other campgrounds for our next trip.

This was my weekend with my family and I did not have a good time. I was located right across from the store. I was at site number three when there’s over 100 sites I was bothered by the guest. The worker said something to me about my airhorn when it was 2 o’clock in the afternoon tell me their security guards are going to sleep. My mom, had a medical reason for her scooter an they didn’t let her ride it , we drove it down to the pool and one of the staffs just took it and brought it to the store without notifying anybody and last, but not lease where the RVs dumped their shit was where my site was very disappointed about friendly beaver
