Starlite Camping Resort Introduce
For Pennsylvania residents looking to escape the hustle of daily life, Starlite Camping Resort in Stevens offers a breathtaking retreat high atop the Furnace Hills. Known among locals as a hilltop sanctuary, this family-operated resort has been a staple of Lancaster County’s outdoor scene for over 60 years. What sets this destination apart is its unique geography; while many regional campgrounds are situated in valley flats, Starlite provides campers with sweeping, panoramic views of the surrounding countryside that are truly second to none. It is a place where the air feels a little crisper and the "starlite" nights feel a little closer, making it an ideal spot for those who appreciate the natural beauty of the Keystone State.
The resort is meticulously maintained by the Kitch family, who have cultivated an atmosphere that balances professional service with the warmth of a family-run business. This isn't just a place to park an RV; it is a community-focused destination where "coming as strangers and leaving as friends" is a lived philosophy. The grounds are thoughtfully divided to cater to different preferences, offering both private, wooded campsites for those seeking seclusion and "Plateau" sites for those who want front-row seats to the twinkling lights of the valley below. Whether you are a local Lancaster resident looking for a "staycation" or a traveler exploring the wider region, the resort provides a clean, safe, and scenic environment that feels worlds away from the city.
Accessibility and location are key features of the Starlite experience. Located at 1500 Furnace Hill Rd, Stevens, PA 17578, the resort is tucked away from the main thoroughfares, ensuring a quiet stay. However, it remains strategically positioned just a short drive from major attractions like the Green Dragon Flea Market and the historic Ephrata Cloister. The resort is designed to be inclusive, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms. While the roads leading up the hill can be winding—a common trait for the scenic Pennsylvania highlands—the interior roads are well-marked. Once on-site, the plateau area offers level ground for those with mobility considerations, ensuring the spectacular views are accessible to all guests.

It is rare to find a campground that offers such a rugged, "off the beaten path" feel while maintaining bathhouses and facilities that guests frequently describe as "spotless." For families, it is worth choosing because it provides a self-contained vacation experience; with the pool, sports courts, and scheduled activities, you can enjoy an entire weekend without ever having to leave the grounds. What a gem of a place! I found this campground on Google when searching for one in PA and I am so glad I found it! Is it off the beaten path from town? Yes. A bit far from stores and most everything else? Yes. Hilly and windy roads? Yes. Spectacular views, clean and all the amenities you need? YES! 🙌🏻 I booked early and was able to get a Plateau site #133 and it had the most amazing views! Not a large site but 50amp full hookup and fit our 34’ camper and truck. The pavilion is right in front of it but it was never busy while we were there and we had a clear view of the landscape below from our site. I miss it already! Super clean place, well-maintained and the best camp store we’ve ever been in! They have everything and a very friendly staff. They also have volleyball, tennis courts, basketball, a baseball field, a mini golf course (were just completing it and only open on weekends so we didn’t use it) a cool “teen” game room and a huge beautiful pool area, and a smaller kids pool, again with those spectacular views that are to die for! They also have monthly events. Plus a laundry room and bathrooms nearby. Everything was so nice! My one and only complaint 😔 is in regards to their pool hours. It’s only open 11-7pm and 11-4pm on Sunday and we wanted to enjoy it after we returned in the evenings when the town lights below were twinkling but they are very strict with that time! Someone is there at the exact time to close everything down daily. I wish they would reconsider those times and extend them. They are just too short. That is our only complaint with this wonderful campground…. We took many day trips all over the area and did a lot of sightseeing so I hope we can return one day.
One of the cleanest campgrounds I have camped at. The views are amazing and the staff go out of there way to help you in anyway they can. It’s an A + resort for family friends and folks that want to experience a great camping experience.
Great place. We got spot with wonderful view. Clean, well maintained, great pool, relaxing atmosphere. We participated in chilli cook off competition, also live music in the evening. Staff super friendly, always helpful and with great sense of humor. You want support this family run business. Great ice cream too...
My family and I have camped here 4-5 times this past year and have enjoyed every minute. Between the wagon rides, the band on Saturday nights, Bingo and the pool we have had great times at Starlight. The family who owns it is always friendly. We love the miniature golf and ice cream. They really don’t have any bad sites in the whole campground. We love it here.
This campground is very well kept, and the staff is absolutely amazing. We’ve had a couple things come up (unrelated to the campground) and they’ve been nothing but kind and accommodating to help us manage our other situations. There’s mini golf, volleyball, small soccer nets, and tons of space. I absolutely love that each campsite is very secluded - trees separating you from your neighbors. It’s been very quiet, even on the weekends. They did a little trick or treating event for the kids which was really cute to see. A little pricey, especially since electric isn’t included, but it’s a very lovely spot. And this area of PA is absolutely stunning in the fall.
