Susquehanna Shores Campground Introduce
Susquehanna Shores Campground is a charming and well-maintained outdoor destination located directly on the banks of the historic Susquehanna River in Falls, Pennsylvania. Situated in the heart of Wyoming County, this campground serves as a tranquil escape for families, anglers, and nature enthusiasts from across the Northeastern Pennsylvania region. Known for its picturesque river views and its warm, community-centric environment, Susquehanna Shores offers a blend of seasonal stability and short-term recreational opportunities. The park is often praised for its "small-town" feel, where the owners, Bob and Sue, take a personal interest in ensuring every guest feels like part of the family.
The campground is strategically designed to cater to different camping styles. The upper level typically hosts semi-permanent seasonal campers who have built a lasting community over many years, while the lower river level is perfectly suited for "short-timers" looking for a quick weekend getaway. The geography of the park allows for sprawling grassy areas and large sites that provide ample room for everything from traditional tent setups to large motorhomes. Whether you are looking to spend your days fishing on the water or your nights around a crackling campfire, Susquehanna Shores provides the ideal backdrop for a classic Pennsylvania camping experience.
Location and accessibility are major draws for Susquehanna Shores Campground. Located at 121 Susquehanna Beach Road, the park is approximately thirty minutes from Scranton, making it an excellent choice for local residents seeking a "staycation" that feels worlds away from the city. The drive to the campground takes visitors through the scenic landscapes of the Endless Mountains, setting a peaceful tone before they even arrive. For those traveling with larger rigs, it is important to note the terrain; while 5th wheels and standard RVs generally navigate the park with ease, travelers with exceptionally long travel trailers should exercise care when transitioning to the lower river level to ensure proper ground clearance.
Beyond the campground's borders, the local area provides several convenient amenities. Just a short walk or drive away, guests can find a local laundromat for extended stays, as well as a friendly neighborhood bar and restaurant known for serving hearty, delicious food. This proximity to local services allows campers to enjoy the "off-the-grid" feel of riverfront living without being disconnected from modern conveniences. The park itself features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking facilities, reflecting a commitment to being an inclusive space for all outdoor lovers.

Susquehanna Shores Campground is worth choosing for those who value a genuine, well-managed camping experience that prioritizes nature and community over commercial flashiness. In an industry where many campgrounds have become overcrowded and impersonal, this park remains a sanctuary of cleanliness and friendliness. The personal touch provided by the owners—from the hand-made breakfast sandwiches to the careful selection of "like-minded" campers—creates a culture of mutual respect and relaxation that is rare to find.
Furthermore, the riverfront location offers a level of beauty and recreational versatility that is hard to match in the region. Whether you are an avid angler chasing the next big catch, a kayaker exploring the river's bends, or a parent looking for a safe place for your kids to play outdoors, Susquehanna Shores delivers. The large, grassy sites and the sound of the flowing river provide a sensory experience that truly rejuvenates the spirit. Choosing this campground means opting for a place where safety, scenery, and community come together to create a true "camping home." Customer Reviews
A very nice, small campground. Well maintained and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed the owner. The upper level seem to be more of the semi-permanent campers. The lower, river level, more like us. Short timers.Nearby is a laundry and down the street a nice, fun little bar with some pretty good food. The only concern I might suggest is that if you have a long travel trailer, there might be some issue trying to pull your rig off the lower level without dragging bottom. 5th wheels, not a problem. RV’s, it would depend upon your wheelbase and how it compares to the length of the body.Large, grassy parking areas. Yes, you can have your traditional bugs, but hey, you’re on the river. That’s part of the experience.
This is primarily a seasonal Campground set on the Susquehanna river, which is not only beautiful but well-managed, well-maintained and most importantly exceedingly safe. The owners managed to gather like-minded campers who help to create a family environment which most would be happy to call their camping home.
Great spot...river views...large sites ....Bathhouse handy to all sites and plenty of hot water...camped here many times and always a fun and relaxing stay..plenty of firewood available on site and the store has whatever you need...looking forward to next season......Update October 2017...purchased a new-to-me trailer and Bob the camp host spent several hours jockeying the trailer into position and setting it up for next season... Extremely helpful and knowledgable about all things RV... Thanks Bob and Sue... Looking forward to next season.
