Rustic Creek Family Campground Introduce

For residents of Pennsylvania looking to immerse themselves in the natural splendor of the Endless Mountains, Rustic Creek Family Campground provides a picturesque retreat along the banks of the Tunkhannock Creek. Located in Tunkhannock, this year-round destination has recently undergone a transformation under new management, formerly operating as Cozy Creek. The campground serves as a vibrant community hub for local families, combining the rustic charm of Northeast Pennsylvania with a suite of modern amenities designed to make outdoor living accessible and enjoyable for all ages. Whether you are a local from Wyoming County or visiting from the Scranton-Wilkes Barre area, the park offers a scenic "home base" for exploring one of the most beautiful regions in the Commonwealth.

The campground is characterized by its sprawling 24-acre property, much of which borders the winding Tunkhannock Creek. This water feature is the lifeblood of the park, providing not only a soothing acoustic backdrop but also a variety of recreational opportunities such as tubing, kayaking, and catch-and-release fishing. The layout of the grounds is thoughtfully organized to accommodate different camping styles, offering everything from secluded, primitive tent sites right on the water’s edge to spacious, level RV pads that can handle even the largest "big rig" setups. The overarching philosophy of the park is to foster family traditions, evidenced by the many returning guests and the friendly, social atmosphere found throughout the various camping loops.

Location and accessibility are key highlights for Pennsylvania travelers navigating to Tunkhannock. The campground is situated at 30 Vacation Ln, Tunkhannock, PA 18657, making it a convenient drive from the Pennsylvania Turnpike and local routes such as Route 6 and PA-29. This proximity allows for easy weekend getaways for those living in the Susquehanna River Valley. The facility is designed to be inclusive, offering accessible parking near the main office and cafe, as well as relatively flat terrain that is manageable for guests with different mobility needs. For those traveling with significant gear, the "pull-through" sites are particularly popular for their ease of entry and exit, ensuring that the start and end of your trip are as stress-free as the stay itself.

Rustic Creek Family Campground provides a wide array of services that cater to the logistical and comfort needs of modern campers. Under the current management, there has been a significant push to ensure that basic facilities are maintained to a high standard, with a focus on cleanliness and guest convenience. From on-site dining to essential camping supplies, the services offered are intended to allow families to spend more time relaxing and less time running errands into town.

  • Full hookup RV sites featuring 20, 30, and 50-amp electrical service, along with water, sewer, and cable TV connections.
  • Deluxe cabin rentals for a "glamping" experience, equipped with full kitchens, bathrooms, air conditioning, and fireplaces.
  • An on-site cafe and beverage bar serving a variety of items from breakfast sandwiches to specialty coffee, milkshakes, and pizza.

  • Free high-speed WiFi available near the campground office and cafe area to help guests stay connected.
  • Professional maintenance staff on-site to assist with technical issues, utility checks, and firewood delivery.

The features and highlights of the park are centered on creating a "Fun Zone" environment where children and adults alike can find constant entertainment. The campground is well-known in the region for its robust activity program, which includes themed weekends and community events. For many, the highlight of a summer visit is the large swimming pool, while others prefer the more natural experience of wading in the creek.

  • A dedicated swimming pool area that serves as a popular social center during the warm summer months.
  • The "Fun Zone," which includes a state-of-the-art arcade, a jumping pillow, a playground, and a gem mine for kids.
  • Extensive sports facilities including basketball courts, horseshoe pits, volleyball, and badminton areas.
  • A spacious "Bark Park" or fenced-in dog park, making the facility a premier choice for pet owners who travel with their dogs.
  • Direct creek access for river tubing, kayaking, and fishing for local species such as trout and smallmouth bass.
  • Award-winning activity programs featuring fire truck rides, barrel train rides, and live music events on the weekends.
  • Themed event weekends throughout the season, such as Halloween trick-or-treating and 80s/90s music nights.

What makes Rustic Creek Family Campground worth choosing is the evident commitment to growth and family-centric values under its current leadership. For many Pennsylvania families, finding a campground that successfully balances "outdoor adventure" with "modern comfort" can be a challenge. Rustic Creek bridges this gap by offering high-quality infrastructure alongside natural amenities like the creek and the surrounding woods of the Endless Mountains. It is worth choosing because it provides a safe, active, and social environment where kids can be kids—riding bikes, playing in the arcade, or swimming—while parents enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a well-managed and supervised facility.

Furthermore, the variety of lodging options—from primitive creek-side tents to luxury cabins—ensures that the park remains accessible regardless of your level of camping experience. The inclusion of an on-site cafe with specialty coffee and food means you don't have to pack the entire kitchen for a weekend away, which is a major draw for busy local families. With its blend of scenic beauty, engaging community activities, and a friendly staff dedicated to improving the guest experience, Rustic Creek Family Campground stands out as a top-tier destination for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Pennsylvania’s great outdoors.

It’s my opinion that the pictures and website are a bit deceptive. It all looks lovely until you try to order from the menu and most items are not available unless it’s the weekend. The “free WiFi” , if you read the fine print is only the campgrounds office WiFi and unless you are right by the office there’s no WiFi available ( which is almost everywhere). The bathrooms/shower areas were very outdated. We very much felt like we were being babysat as “the gastopo ” as we came to refer to them, literally were staff that seem to drive around at least every 5 minutes. It was unsettling to say least and completely took away the feeling that one was camping out in the country. The pool was nice but didn’t open on time on the days I was there. The other campers did seem friendly. None had anything good to say about their experience with the campground. Most thought it was outdated. I heard many complaints regarding the staff and the owners, who seemed more about finding rule violations than seeing to it that people have a good experience. It could be a much nicer place to enjoy if it were updated, if there were planned activities for children, and if the place were as nice as it was advertised to be. This is my opinion and I personally could never recommend this campground. I know I will not go back.

Set in the beautiful hills of Wyoming county how could one go wrong???Let me tell you my opinion. The staff needs some education on how to treat the guests who are paying your wages.Never approach someone without identifying yourself and the first words out of your mouth should never be;I don’t want to kick you out.No idea who this person is talking to me. They said later that it was written on the back of the shirt that they were wearing but didn’t turn around during their conversation. They are in the hospitality business and know nothing about being hospitable. After talking with another camper who was staying in a cabin was greeted with mice invested kitchen and bathroom drawers. The cleaning lady was in so much pain that the lady had to wash every dish in the kitchen and along with us will never go back again.Edit:They charged us nearly $50 after we left without any explanation.

Had a great stay, fireworks were great.Sites are pretty spacious but close together. Level gravel spot for trailer, concrete pad and for pit. Water pressure wasn't the greatest. Lots of stuff to do.

Stayed in a cabin, which was nice. Furniture is small/limited, especial for a larger person. Super cute, family friendly camp ground which also hosted a great firework display & music. Will definitely stay again. Fun Memories Made ✔️
