Sway Meadow Glamping | Camping Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking a restorative escape that bridges the gap between rugged wilderness and thoughtful comfort, Sway Meadow Glamping | Camping offers a unique sanctuary in the Southern Adirondack foothills. Located in the quiet landscapes of Broadalbin, this campground is designed for those who want to "unplug" from the relentless pace of city life without sacrificing the cozy essentials that make a trip memorable. As an eco-conscious destination, Sway Meadow focuses on providing a low-impact, high-immersion experience where the primary entertainment is the rustle of the trees and the glow of the stars. It serves as a perfect introduction for those new to the outdoors, as well as a refined retreat for seasoned campers looking for a more "luxe" aesthetic.
The philosophy at Sway Meadow is rooted in inclusivity and hospitality. Identified as both veteran-owned and women-owned, the business prides itself on creating a welcoming environment for a diverse range of visitors. It is recognized as an LGBTQ+ friendly destination and a transgender safespace, ensuring that every guest feels secure and respected during their time in the woods. Whether you are visiting for a solo "retreat" to clear your mind, a romantic weekend under canvas, or a family adventure with the kids, the atmosphere is consistently peaceful, tidy, and deeply connected to the natural rhythms of the upstate New York environment.
Situated at 577 Fayville Rd, Broadalbin, NY 12025, Sway Meadow is strategically located for easy access from various parts of the state. For residents in the Capital Region, the drive is a short and scenic trip, while those coming from the New York City metropolitan area can typically reach the site in under four hours. The campground serves as a gateway to the Great Sacandaga Lake region, which is often cited by locals as one of the Adirondacks' best-kept secrets. This proximity allows guests to enjoy the seclusion of a private meadow while being only minutes away from public beaches, boat launches, and the charming small-town amenities of Broadalbin and Northville.
Accessibility within the site is handled with care. The campground provides on-site parking, allowing guests to transition easily from their vehicles to their designated campsites. The paths are well-kept, and the layout of the tents is designed to maximize privacy while remaining manageable for families with children. While the experience is intentionally "off-grid" to encourage a deeper connection with nature, the location is chosen specifically to ensure that guests are never too far from help if needed, with owners who are frequently cited by visitors as being highly responsive and helpful throughout their stay.

Choosing Sway Meadow is worth it for anyone who wants the thrill of the Adirondacks without the stress of setting up a traditional tent. It is particularly valuable for "first-time" campers or those who don't often spend time in the great outdoors, as the provided amenities like the wood-burning stove and pre-set tents remove the typical barriers to entry. The fact that the site remains open and cozy even in the depths of winter (as noted by guests who have stayed in January) makes it a rare year-round destination for those who love the stark beauty of a New York winter but prefer to sleep in a warm, clean bed.
Furthermore, the campground is worth choosing for its social values. Supporting a veteran and women-owned business that actively advertises itself as a safe space for all ensures that your travel dollars are supporting a business that reflects the diverse and inclusive spirit of New York. The positive feedback from real customers highlights a consistent theme: the hosts go above and beyond to ensure you have what you need, from the "beautifully lit" tents to the "just right" blankets. For a peaceful, safe, and thoughtfully curated escape into the woods, Sway Meadow Glamping | Camping stands as a top-tier local choice.

Accommodations were just right for a little escape and adventure. I enjoyed a nice walk in the trees and soaked in the wilderness along the field. The cozy blankets were just right to keep me warm on the winter night. The beautifully lit yurt like tent was clean and the basic needs were provided for me to enjoy making my home brought coffee and tea with water boiled on top the little wood stove :) Thank you! I’ll be back!
Sway Meadow is the perfect getaway to take time off the grid, relax, and be one with nature. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3-night stay in the beginning of January and and looking forward to returning for another visit. The site is beautiful, tidy, and well-kept. Everything that the owners listed was there, clean, and ready for use. The fairy light lights in the tent created a magical ambiance. The wood-burning stove was easy to use and kept me warm and cozy, even in January! As a person that doesn't camp often, this experience was a perfect way to introduce me to staying in the great outdoors with the ability to use my devices if I chose to, or completely escape from the hustle of every-day life. The owners were very responsive and more than happy to provide me with any assistance that I needed throughout my stay. I felt safe and welcomed.
