Travelers Woods NE Inc Introduce

For over 40 years, Travelers Woods NE Inc has served as a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a welcoming and well-maintained retreat in the heart of the Pioneer Valley. Nestled at the base of the Berkshire Mountains in Bernardston, Massachusetts, this family-owned campground offers a picturesque escape where the rural splendor of New England meets modern camping convenience. Whether you are a local resident looking for a weekend getaway or a traveler navigating the scenic corridors of Interstate 91, Travelers Woods provide a serene environment characterized by lush green landscapes, mature trees, and a community-focused atmosphere.

The campground is designed to be a "home away from home," catering to a diverse range of camping styles—from primitive tenting under the stars to large-scale RV units requiring full technical support. The professional management team takes great pride in the upkeep of the grounds, ensuring that every site is level and every facility is kept in top condition. This dedication to quality has made Travelers Woods a staple for the local Massachusetts camping community, known for its friendly staff and a calendar full of seasonal activities that bring neighbors and visitors together.

Travelers Woods NE Inc is conveniently located at 152 River St, Bernardston, MA 01337, making it exceptionally accessible for those in the Massachusetts and New England region. Situated just 1.5 miles off I-91, it serves as an ideal basecamp for exploring the many attractions of Franklin County and beyond. Local users appreciate its proximity to the Mohawk Trail, the historic charm of Deerfield, and the recreational opportunities of the Connecticut River. The park's entrance is designed with ease of use in mind, featuring wide roads and a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot to accommodate all guests.

For travelers using GPS, the management specifically recommends entering "River STREET" to ensure an accurate arrival, as the surrounding countryside features several similarly named roads. Once on-site, the park’s layout allows for easy navigation even for the largest "big rig" RVs. While its proximity to the interstate provides unmatched convenience for arrivals and departures, the natural buffers of the Berkshire foothills help maintain a peaceful, woodland feel throughout the property.

The features at Travelers Woods NE Inc are centered around providing a high-quality, family-centric experience. The park is deeply integrated with local charitable efforts, having donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, a testament to the community-minded spirit of the owners. For families, the park is a paradise of simple pleasures, offering plenty of space for children to play and explore in a safe environment.

What makes Travelers Woods NE Inc truly worth choosing is the authentic, small-town hospitality that defines the experience. In an era of corporate-owned RV resorts, this campground maintains a personal touch where the owners are often seen helping guests back into their sites or hosting community dinners at the pavilion. For Massachusetts locals, it represents an exceptional value; the "kids camp free" policy (with paying adults) makes it one of the most budget-friendly options for families in the Pioneer Valley.

The park’s versatility is another major draw. It functions equally well as a quick, level overnight stop for long-haul travelers and as a deep-rooted seasonal home for those who wish to spend the entire summer immersed in the beauty of the Berkshires. By choosing Travelers Woods, you are not just booking a campsite; you are joining a community that values respect, quiet nights, and the simple joy of a campfire. With its impeccable cleanliness, robust amenities, and prime location near the best of Western Massachusetts, Travelers Woods NE Inc stands out as a top-tier choice for your next outdoor adventure.

Just stopped for overnight. Flat, level field with electric and water. Spacious lot area. Nice hosts. Did not check out restrooms or laundry because we did not need them. Campground was nicely maintained. Would stay again.

Beautifully kept grounds, everything was clean and well cared for. Easy access to every site and large lots. The roads around the park are in exceptional condition. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The park is just a short drive to a small old school convenience store, gas and Duncan Donuts. The only down side is it's close proximity to interstate 91. Witch wouldn't be a problem except for the bridge going over the road just outside the park is in very bad repair and is very loud when big trucks drive over it. Other than that travlers woods is an exceptional value with beautifully kept grounds and and helpful friendly staff. We will definitely stay here again if back in the area.

Campground has very clean bathrooms, nice friendly, quiet atmosphere. Our site was on the river, which was very peaceful. The highway is close by which was handy, and not very load overall. Stayed here for 3 weeks so my kids could finish school. Lisa was very helpful in assisting us with obtaining a site for the time we needed. Lisa and Scott greeted us upon arrival, were very knowledgeable and informative about campground policies. They answered all of our questions throughout the time we stayed, they even gave us area recommendations of activities and places to shop and eat at. Will definitely be back and look forward to seeing their welcoming and friendly faces in the future! Thank you for maintaining such a beautiful spot to relax!

Beautiful campground managed by such a wonderful, helpful staff. Quiet campers and plenty of place to hike/bike ride nearby. Very clean and well kept. There is some road noise from Hwy 91…otherwise, it would have a perfect rating from us!
