When deciding where to spend your outdoor time in Massachusetts, The Wagon Wheel Campground is worth choosing for several distinct reasons. First and foremost is the specialized focus on horse camping. The ability to ride directly from your campsite onto a mix of challenging and flat trails is a rare find. The trails themselves are noted for their perfect combination of uphill and downhill terrain, eventually leading to gravel roads that allow riders to move out at a faster pace. For horse owners, the convenience of having staff manage manure removal and provide stalls means more time spent in the saddle and less time on chores.
Furthermore, the campground is worth choosing for its authentic, "quiet spot" atmosphere. Unlike larger, corporate-run parks that can feel overcrowded, the Warwick location retains a rustic charm that feels like a true escape. The reviews from regular visitors consistently highlight the warmth of the welcome and the attentiveness of the owner, who often remembers returning guests by sight. This creates a community-like feel where travelers feel like guests rather than just customers. Whether you are coming for the horseback riding, the fishing, or simply to enjoy a fire under the stars, The Wagon Wheel Campground provides the infrastructure and the heart to make your Massachusetts camping trip truly memorable.
In summary, if you are a local resident looking for a well-maintained, horse-friendly, and peaceful campground, this Warwick gem should be at the top of your list. Its combination of modern RV amenities and traditional rustic camping ensures that it can cater to any style of outdoor adventure. Take a trip to the Northwoods this season and discover why so many Massachusetts families and riders consider this their home away from home.

What a fabulous weekend my group and I had! Beautiful quiet spot with our campers and horses! The owner was very accommodating and added a third stall to our spot for our odd number of horses. Trash and manure were picked up and dumped by campground staff daily. Manure buckets were provided! We were too busy hanging with our horses, each other and riding to go take a dip in the pool, but it looked very inviting! We can not wait to go back again!
My friend and I brought our horses for our second camping trip at Wagon Wheel and could not have been happier! The owner remembered us by sight and gave us a warm welcome! Our site was beautiful, very good sized, and set on the edge of the woods and a trail entrance was conveniently located right behind our site! Everything was perfect. We loved the trail we chose to ride, it was a perfect mix of challenging terrain, up and down hill, but with flat spaces in between, a great combination. It came out on a gravel road which gave us a nice flat spot to move out a bit. There are so many trails available, we could never ride them all in a weekend. We will definitely return. It was excellent.
We arrived Thur night - Kim and husband Scott (owners) greeted us and helped settle horses in cause was late. Kim new was out 1st time so checked in on us and when we ran errand - checked our horses a few times. This is a campground. Was clean and has trails. Also traveled to Irving State Park. I will definitely go again. One horse got stressed and Kim pleasantly stepped in to assist us w/Parrelli figure 8... The boy settled down and was fab rest of day. She is super knowledgeable. Both are very hospitable as well. Def recommend. Was a great time for me/Trail and Shellie/Slugger
My friends and I try to make it out at least a couple times every summer. Great place to bring your horses. Pens already set up, so no messing with electric fencing. Tons of trails to explore. Pool is always clean. Owners are awesome. Really love this place!
They say they have WiFi they do not I have tried serveral times. I rented a camper for months my electrical bill started out 24 dollars with a receipt, by the time I was getting ready to leave it turned to 110 dollars. I don't pay that a month at my place. It started off by I would pay for the month for rent , she "would get me my receipt" but never would I would keep asking then it would by this weekend and she never would. She is not a good business women at all, never keeps her word. Some weekends she we could have big party's there lots of drinking and more if you know what I mean. I would never recommend this place unless you like taking chances. Oh yeah the camper leaked too if course I said something and nothing happened. I finally put duct tape over it cause it was right where I would sleep. If your into horses and you bring them there, seems like you get treated slot better. Don't waste your money go to lamb city, it's a place for the whole family very respectful clean and nice.
