Tumble Hill Campground Introduce
For New York residents seeking a tranquil escape from the bustling pace of everyday life, Tumble Hill Campground—often warmly referred to as Stetson’s Tumble Hill—stands as a premier destination in the heart of the Southern Tier. Located in the picturesque town of Cohocton, this family-owned and operated campground offers a quintessential New York outdoor experience. Situated on a ridge that provides breathtaking views of the surrounding rolling hills and lush valleys, the park has earned a reputation for its "peaceful haven" atmosphere. Whether you are looking to park a large motorhome for the season or pitch a tent under a canopy of mature hardwoods, Tumble Hill provides the perfect backdrop for making lasting family memories in the great outdoors.
Under the dedicated stewardship of Lisa and Joey Stetson, the campground has seen significant rejuvenation and care, focusing on providing a clean, welcoming, and high-quality environment for all guests. The park is characterized by its exceptionally large and well-spaced campsites, which offer a level of privacy and seclusion that is increasingly rare in modern commercial campgrounds. This sense of space allows visitors to truly immerse themselves in nature, listening to the wind through the pines and watching the local wildlife, all while enjoying the modern conveniences that make for a comfortable stay. It is an ideal spot for those who value quiet evenings by the campfire and slow, sunny afternoons exploring the forested terrain.
Location and accessibility are major highlights for Tumble Hill Campground. Conveniently located at 10551 Atlanta Back Rd, Cohocton, NY 14826, it is easily reachable for residents of Rochester, Corning, and Elmira. The park is situated just off I-390, making it a straightforward drive for those coming from the north or south. Once you exit the highway, the short journey through the scenic backroads of Steuben County sets the mood for a relaxing retreat. The campground’s entrance and main thoroughfares are designed to accommodate a variety of vehicles, including "big rigs" up to 60 feet in length, with several pull-through sites available to make arrival and setup as seamless as possible.
Despite its secluded feel, Tumble Hill is strategically positioned near some of the Finger Lakes region's most iconic attractions. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate being within a short drive of the dramatic waterfalls and gorge trails of Letchworth State Park and Stony Brook State Park. For those who enjoy local culture, the world-class wineries of Keuka and Canandaigua Lakes are easily accessible, offering a perfect day-trip opportunity before returning to the quiet of the ridge. The campground also features on-site parking and a layout that prioritizes ease of movement, ensuring that even during peak holiday weekends, the park never feels overcrowded or difficult to navigate.

What truly makes Tumble Hill Campground worth choosing is the genuine hospitality and the meticulous attention to detail provided by the Stetson family. In an era where many campgrounds are being bought out by large corporations, Tumble Hill remains a place where the owners know their guests by name. The combination of reasonable pricing and the sheer size of the sites provides incredible value, ensuring that you never feel like you are camping "on top" of your neighbors. The cleanliness of the facilities—from the spotless restrooms to the manicured trails—reflects a level of pride that transforms a standard camping trip into a premium vacation experience.
Furthermore, for New Yorkers looking for a "quiet getaway," the park’s elevation and location on the ridge provide a natural buffer from noise and light pollution, offering some of the best stargazing opportunities in the region. The ability to bring the whole family, including the dog, into a safe and welcoming environment makes it a top-tier choice for residents throughout the Southern Tier. Whether you are coming to hike the nearby state parks, tour the Finger Lakes wineries, or simply sit under the trees and read a book, Tumble Hill Campground offers an authentic and restorative New York camping experience that keeps visitors coming back year after year.

Customer Reviews
My wife and I and our 4-year old German Shepard recently spent 3 great days at Tumble Hill Campground. It is a beautiful, wooded place with large campsites and very comfortable facilities. The owners, Lisa and Joey Stetson, are super friendly folks and anxious to assist/help their customers anyway possible. If my wife and I are back in that area of New York State, we will DEFINETLY reserve a campsite at Tumble Hill Campground. Well done, Lisa and Joey and thanks for all the hospitality!
100% HIGHLY recommend camping here! Reasonable pricing, friendly owners who actually want to make your stay the best they can, very clean and the sites are spaced out enough to give you seclusion. Greatly maintained. If you are looking for a quick quiet getaway, this is definitely the place. We are going to look into booking a couple dates for next year and bringing the family this time!!!!!! Great find😁👍🏼
Great campground! Nice size with a secluded feeling. The owners Joey and Lisa were wonderful hosts making sure everything is taken care of. The surrounding area is beautiful! Plenty to do with the Finger lakes and the NY State Parks closes by. You don't want to missThank you Joey and Lisa for a great stay.
I stayed at Stetsons Tumble Hill campground from June 24 - 29.I found it on a whim when searching for a place somewhere in the middle between Letchworth and Watkins Glen state parks.I couldn’t be more happy. The online reservation process was so simple. The moment I pulled in, Lisa met me with a big smile and made me feel right at home from the second I got there. Gave me a brief rundown of how to find my site and how to access the amenities. She introduced me to Joey who took the time to lead me to my site, showed me all the hookups and made sure I had no issues getting backed in (little bit of a tricky spot…no concerns though). It was very easy to see they both work extremely hard at maintaining the park. The place was beautiful, the grounds were impeccable, the restroom/shower was spotless and well stocked, and there was tons of great firewood at different convenient spots for a very fair price. All the people I met throughout the week were awesome, friendly and helpful. My neighbor Casey was about as friendly and cool as a neighbor could possibly be.I still can’t believe I stumbled onto such an awesome spot to camp. Being my first time to New York State (from Canada) I also was amazed at how beautiful it is. My mind was blown the entire time I spent visiting the state parks and surrounding areas. There is so much to see and do that I don’t feel I even scratched the surface. That being said, I’m already looking forward to coming back. Hopefully Tumble Hill will have a site available when I do because I’d absolutely love to stay there again.
Do not stay here- hidden fees galore. We booked a group site but had to pay $10-15 more for each tent and car per night if you had more than one tent and one car! If you have more than 6 adults, you had to pay extra for each person per night. What’s the point of a group site? More expensive than booking three separate, individual sites. We could’ve booked a hotel or an Airbnb for the price we paid.
