Whispering Pines Campground Introduce
For residents of Rhode Island looking to escape the daily grind without crossing state lines, Whispering Pines Campground in Hope Valley offers a quintessential New England outdoor experience. Nestled among 50 acres of towering white pines in the heart of South County, this family-owned destination has been a staple of the local community for over 60 years. Whether you are a seasoned RVer or a family looking to start a new tradition in a tent or rustic cabin, the campground provides a perfect balance of natural serenity and modern recreational facilities. The atmosphere is designed to be welcoming and community-oriented, making it a favorite for "staycations" where locals can enjoy the beauty of the Ocean State's inland forests.
The campground is widely recognized for its dedication to family fun, prioritizing activities that engage guests of all ages. From the moment you pull through the gated entry, the scent of pine and the sound of organized camp activities set the stage for a memorable retreat. It is not just a place to park a vehicle or pitch a tent; it is a full-scale recreational resort that maintains a classic camping vibe. Many Rhode Island families have visited for generations, transitioning from weekend visitors to seasonal campers who spend their entire summer enjoying the themed events and communal spirit that Whispering Pines is known for.
Location and accessibility are among the campground's strongest suits for Rhode Island travelers. Situated at 41 Sawmill Rd, Hope Valley, RI 02832, it is conveniently located just off Interstate 95, making it an easy drive from Providence, Warwick, or the coastal towns of Narragansett and Westerly. The facility is designed to be inclusive, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot to ensure all guests can navigate the grounds comfortably. Upon arrival, visitors will find a well-organized layout with a free parking lot and dedicated on-site parking at each campsite. The surrounding area of Hopkinton and Richmond offers additional layers of adventure for those who wish to explore beyond the campground. Nature enthusiasts are minutes away from some of the state's most beautiful hiking trails and freshwater fishing spots. Despite its secluded feel among the trees, the campground remains close enough to local conveniences, allowing guests to grab supplies or visit local South County attractions with ease. This strategic location makes it a premier choice for those who want the "deep woods" experience without the long-distance travel often associated with northern New England camping.

Customer Reviews
We had a nice campsite on the end of the road near the facilities. We have a truck camper so this pull through was perfect. The staff were great and added some enjoyment to the our long weekend! There were plenty of planned events and amenities for entire families. The campground is very well maintained. My wife and I had a wonderful stay! We would highly recommend Whispering Pines Campground!
I have been visiting Whispering Pines since I was a little girl. As a mother of three, my husband and I have continued the tradition and have even gone seasonal! So much for the little to do all summer long. We especially love the themed weekends!
Overall this is a nice campground tucked away in a quiet area. We had a spacious site with some shade, but not all sites were as spacious. The pool is too small for the number of weekend campers. The campground appears to have mostly seasonal campers and too manygolf carts. We were in the area visiting with our son in college at NEIT. We will stay here again as long as we can get the same site.
This was hands down the funniest camp site by far, not only for my children. There was always something going on, food trucks, movie night foam party for kids, mini golf, arcade, pool & lake. my husband and I really enjoyed the live band. We’ve been to many campsites but none ever had a live band.
Fortunately, we were only there for 4 days. Our site was not where near level. It took some doing, but we were able to get pretty close to level. Saturday, there was an rvrnt going on at the pavillion. We only knew about it, because of all the noise. There was no announcement. Our neighbors were also, disappointed about missing out. It was very frustrating. The road are rough and very narrow. We will not go back.
