White Oak Campground Introduce

For Pennsylvania residents seeking a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, White Oak Campground offers an idyllic forest escape in the heart of Southern Lancaster County. Located atop a scenic ridge in Quarryville, this campground has been a staple of the local outdoor community since the 1980s. It provides a unique vantage point overlooking rolling hills and working Amish farms, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the undisturbed charm of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a semi-permanent seasonal stay, White Oak provides a professional yet friendly environment where the beauty of nature takes center stage.

The campground is well-regarded by local campers for its meticulous maintenance and peaceful atmosphere. With a mix of wooded and open grassy meadow sites, it caters to a variety of preferences, from those who want the seclusion of towering trees to those who prefer the sun-drenched space of a meadow. The staff is frequently praised for their welcoming demeanor and diligent service, creating a "home away from home" feeling that keeps families coming back generation after generation. As a destination that values quiet relaxation, it is particularly appealing to those who wish to spend their days birdwatching, hiking, or simply enjoying a campfire under a starlit sky.

Location and Accessibility are key highlights for this Quarryville destination. Situated at 3156 White Oak Rd, Quarryville, PA 17566, the campground is easily accessible via the winding, scenic backroads of Lancaster County. Despite its secluded mountain-top feel, it is centrally located near some of the region's most famous attractions, including the Strasburg Rail Road and the Sight & Sound Theatres. For those traveling with larger equipment, the park is designed to be "Big Rig Friendly," accommodating vehicles up to 65 feet in length, though the hilly terrain adds a touch of authentic mountain character to the drive.

The facility is committed to inclusivity, offering several accessibility features to ensure all guests can enjoy their stay. This includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking lot. The public restrooms are also designed to be wheelchair accessible, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and comfort. For residents of nearby cities like Philadelphia or Harrisburg, White Oak Campground serves as a conveniently close sanctuary that feels worlds away from the urban environment, making it a top choice for local Pennsylvanians.

White Oak Campground offers a comprehensive range of onsite services to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free camping experience. These services are tailored to both short-term vacationers and semi-permanent travelers:

  • Full Hookup (FHU) RV sites including water, sewer, and electric (30/50 amp) connections for a modern camping experience.

What is worth choosing about White Oak Campground is the genuine sense of peace it provides. In a region where many campgrounds can become overcrowded and noisy, White Oak has intentionally preserved a "quiet and relaxing" atmosphere. The strict enforcement of quiet hours and the emphasis on a chill, nature-focused environment make it the ideal selection for those who truly want to unplug. The "buddy sites" are a particularly thoughtful feature, making it a standout choice for Pennsylvania families who enjoy camping in groups but still want their own dedicated space and hookups.

Furthermore, the campground's suitability for long-term "semi-permanent" stays—such as for traveling professionals, nurses, or those in transition between homes—makes it a versatile resource for the local community. The ability to receive packages and have a stable home base in such a beautiful setting is a significant benefit. Combined with the high standards of cleanliness and the friendly, professional office staff, White Oak Campground represents the very best of Lancaster County hospitality. Whether you are there to hike the trails, swim in the pool, or simply watch the horse and buggies pass by on the road below, choosing White Oak ensures a high-quality, authentic Pennsylvania experience that will have you planning your next stay before the first one is even over.

Ultimately, the value of this campground lies in its balance. It offers the modern amenities that RV owners expect, such as full hookups and reliable Wi-Fi, while maintaining the rustic, forested charm that tent campers crave. It is a place where community spirit thrives, evidenced by the friendly seasonal residents and the welcoming staff who treat every guest like a neighbor. For a clean, safe, and beautifully situated camping destination in Pennsylvania, White Oak Campground is an exceptional choice that delivers on its promise of an idyllic forest escape.

We just got home from here. It’s pretty local for us but this was our first time. The campground was very well maintained and clean. We didn’t use the pool but it looked great. We had a buddy site with our relatives that was spacious and shaded. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Also enjoyed talking to many seasonal site residents. We really felt comfortable there. Quiet and relaxing. Happy we met Bernie (the dog) and his owners.

The young girl in the office is fantastic! She’s very professional, kind, and diligent. Steve, on the other hand, completely tarnished what would have been a 5 star review. He doesn’t belong among a happy campground. He’s rude and acts like he’s the “big man” on campus. He is very unprofessional. I avoid him which is not what you want to do when long term camping. You want to be friendly and enjoy the people. All others working have been great and have even checked on me as I am a woman here alone for work.Campground is clean and the pool is very nice.

The park owner is a prejudiced individual who wrongfully accused me of fabricating claims about my dogs being service animals. Despite presenting the National registration paperwork, he dismissed my explanations and interrupted me, insisting I was trying to manipulate the situation. When I clarified that my dogs serve a purpose due to my status as a disabled veteran, he decided to eject me simply because he didn't agree with my attitude. He wouldn't allow me to respond and even interrupted while I was inquiring about prices with his clerk. I had contacted the park three times, only to be quoted inconsistent rates between $450 and $725, not including an additional $20 fee for using the phone. We traveled from Florida specifically to enjoy the Amish country and visit family, and just a day before our planned arrival, he was incredibly rude. It was as if the friendliness I experienced over the phone vanished the moment we arrived. I was unjustly silenced and labeled as deceptive, with no chance to defend myself against his claims. It's unfortunate that a beautiful park like this is managed by someone with such bigoted views.

Don't listen to the Karen reviews, this is a nice cozy little campground. We got assistance backing into our spot at 8:35pm as it was getting dark. Staff was super friendly. Hookups, fire pit and picnic table were in great shape. The kids loved the pool, play area and indoor arcade during the rain. We had ZERO issues with anything. If you don't know how to level your camper or hookup, that's on you not the campground!! 10/10 for us, would definitely stay again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The camp store was clean and well stocked. The campground, pool, game room and bathhouse was very clean and well kept. They have a nice basketball court. Amish come on Saturdays and bring baked goods and other items to sell (best bbq chicken I’ve ever had). You can watch the horses and buggies pass by all day by the pool. Firewood is available but you can stop at a roadside stand down the road from the campground and get it a little cheaper. The sites are close together but overall we had a great trip here!
