Winey Duck Cottage Introduce

For New Yorkers seeking a serene escape into the heart of wine country, Winey Duck Cottage offers a quintessential Finger Lakes experience. Nestled on the western shores of Seneca Lake in the charming hamlet of Dresden, this contemporary lakeside lodging is designed to cater to families, groups, and four-legged companions alike. The property serves as a peaceful sanctuary where the rhythmic sounds of the water and the sprawling vineyard views create an atmosphere of immediate relaxation. Whether you are planning a spirited weekend of wine tasting or a quiet week of lakeside reflection, this cottage provides a versatile home base that captures the rustic elegance of Upstate New York.

Winey Duck Cottage is more than just a place to sleep; it is a destination for those who appreciate the outdoors without sacrificing the comforts of home. The interior is thoughtfully laid out with multiple levels to accommodate up to ten guests, making it a favorite for multi-generational family reunions or groups of friends. The property is professionally managed, ensuring that guests arrive to a space equipped with the essentials for a seamless stay. With its west-facing orientation, guests can enjoy bright, airy mornings and comfortable afternoons shielded from the harshest direct sunlight, all while maintaining a front-row seat to the changing colors of the lake throughout the day.

The cottage is located at 1282 Arrowhead Beach Rd, Dresden, NY 14441, USA, positioned perfectly between the vibrant hubs of the region. Accessibility is a key highlight for local travelers; the property is situated just 5 miles from the boutique shops and eateries of Penn Yan and approximately 10 miles from the historic streets of Geneva. This central location means that while you are tucked away on a quiet residential road, you are never more than a short drive from modern conveniences, craft breweries, and world-class dining.

For those arriving from major New York cities, the route to Dresden is straightforward, taking you through the rolling agricultural heartland of the state. The property features private off-street parking, though guests should note that local zoning strictly enforces a limit of two vehicles per stay. The surrounding town of Dresden is exceptionally pedestrian-friendly, offering quiet streets that are perfect for morning strolls with your dog. Its proximity to the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail also makes it an attractive spot for hikers and cyclists looking to explore the natural corridor connecting Seneca and Keuka Lakes.

What makes Winey Duck Cottage truly worth choosing is its uncompromising commitment to the "lake life" lifestyle. For New Yorkers, the Finger Lakes represent a unique escape where the pace of life slows down, and this property facilitates that transition perfectly. The inclusion of a private hot tub and a newly updated dock ensures that your time spent outside is as luxurious as it is adventurous. Unlike many rentals that feel isolated, Winey Duck places you in the "sweet spot" of the region—close enough to Penn Yan for a quick grocery run or a morning coffee, but far enough removed to enjoy the quietude of Seneca Lake.

Furthermore, the cottage is worth choosing for its pet-friendly nature. Finding high-quality, contemporary lodging that welcomes dogs can be a challenge in the Finger Lakes, but Winey Duck treats your pets as part of the family. The layout of the home, featuring multiple bathrooms and distinct sleeping areas, ensures that even with a full house of ten people, everyone has their own space to decompress. When you factor in the incredible lake views, the proximity to the state's best Rieslings, and the professional management that oversees the property, it becomes clear why this cottage is a top choice for those looking to experience the best of New York’s waterfront living.

Would you like me to provide a curated list of pet-friendly wineries along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail or help you check for available dates during the upcoming fall harvest season?

The pros:*Pet Friendly*Great View of the lake*West facing so you don't get the afternoon sun*Rooms were comfortable, stays cool inside*great location and town for walking your dogs*Kitchen was pretty well stocked as far as plates, cups, etc*Location is great as it's 5 miles from Penn Yan and 10+ from Geneva. Now for the Cons:*Some sort of sub pump/plumbing issue was going on where the sinks would gurgle very loudly when the toilet flushed, out front the water was gushing out of the planter and down the sidewalk when the toilet was flushed. We contacted the reality company on Wednesday and the issue wasn't addressed until late Friday.*The grill out front is nasty. We tried cleaning it and it was so caked in grime and grease it was unusable, the grill needs to be replaced. For how cheap a grill costs this should be a priority for them.*You will need to purchase basic items like seasonings, sugar, and hand soap as they only provide a tiny small round hotel soap bar.*The wooden dock out back is on the verge of collapsing and should be caution taped off. It appears they are attempting to replace it with a much more modern dock but at the time of our visit they only had a frame up so it was not functional.Overall we enjoyed it but for the cost these things shouldn't be an issue. You go up Father's Day weekend and can't even grill which is frusterating.

My family and I rented this cottage the week of July 4th. The inside is nice with laundry, fully stocked kitchen, etc... Outside was not clean at all. The hot tub was green upon arrival, nothing swept, cobwebs and dirt underneath the deck where the hot tub is. Day 2 the property management company came to drain and clean the hot tub. That was taken care of. Day 3 the sewer backed up into the basement. We started smelling it that day. Day 4 I called the property management company to report it to find out there was already a ticket in for this property for the same reason. Day 5 was a treat, Instead of my husband coming on the wine trails he spent the day with a plumber flushing toilets and running water. They corrected the issue that day and cleaned the basement for us. Day 6 we went to cook on the grill..... don’t use the grill.... it was so smoky we set the alarms in the house... despite all of these things, the property management company did not refund any monies, and hasn’t returned calls. This property has the potential to be a really nice get away, but we had bad luck with it. Next time I would probably rent another space....

My family and I loved staying at the Winey Duck for three nights. We had 6 adults and two kids under 3 and there was enough room for everyone. The house was well equipped with toys for the kids and it was perfectly situated between 8 or 9 winery's for the adults. We will definitely use Finger Lakes Premier Properties again. They were very flexible with us and extremely helpful.

We had a really great stay here with friends from Canada. Clean, quiet, beautiful view, great hot tub and well appointed kitchen. Beds could be a little more comfortable.

Heat did not work. 24 hours in cold damp low 60s in the house. Could not connect to services on the non cable tvs. They kept saying your name and password are not on our ————. Why would they be locked out from us?
