Finger Lakes Cabins and Campground Introduce
For New Yorkers looking to escape the relentless pace of city life, the Finger Lakes region offers a sanctuary of rolling hills, deep glacial lakes, and world-class vineyards. Nestled in the heart of this "four-season playground" is Finger Lakes Cabins and Campground, a destination specifically designed for those who want a peaceful home base while exploring the natural wonders of Upstate New York. Located in Romulus, this campground prides itself on offering a quiet, rejuvenated atmosphere where the focus is on the simple joys of the outdoors. Whether you are an experienced RVer, a traditional tent camper, or someone who prefers the comfort of a solid-roof cabin, this location provides a welcoming environment for families, adventurers, and their four-legged companions.
Finger Lakes Cabins and Campground isn't just a place to park; it is a community-oriented retreat that emphasizes the unique beauty of the Seneca Lake area. Recent updates have modernized the facility, ensuring that the rustic charm of woodsy camping is balanced with the conveniences today's travelers expect. With its spacious sites and lush surroundings, the campground has quickly become a "hidden gem" for locals who want to stay close to the region's famous wineries and breweries without sacrificing the serenity of a nature-focused campsite. The property is characterized by its "low-key" vibe, making it a favorite for those who find larger, commercialized parks a bit too bustling for a true weekend unwind.
Location and accessibility are among the strongest selling points for this Romulus destination. Situated at 5919 NY-96A, the campground is strategically placed along one of the region's most scenic routes. For travelers coming from Rochester, Syracuse, or the Southern Tier, the park is easily reached via major state highways, avoiding the complicated backroads that can sometimes plague larger RV units. Its placement is ideal for local exploration: it sits just a stone's throw from the shores of Seneca Lake and is within a 15-mile radius of over 20 renowned wineries. Additionally, for those seeking the drama of New York's famous waterfalls, the legendary Taughannock Falls State Park—featuring a waterfall taller than Niagara—is only a short drive away, making the campground a perfect logistical hub for "peak-bagging" the region's natural landmarks.
The services offered at Finger Lakes Cabins and Campground are designed to cater to a diverse range of camping styles. We went tent camping for the weekend. The grounds were clear and offered some privacy between spaces, but the bathrooms could use some maintenance. Each tent spot has a fire ring, but you need to bring your own grill and picnic table. All in all, not a bad spot though. I would return.
This is a great little campground! We stayed for a week and definitely wish we could have stayed longer. Our pup loved it too! But, the staff is lovely and very helpful and we will definitely be staying again!!
