When considering which local campground is worth choosing, Worden Pond stands out for its unmatched location and its commitment to a traditional family atmosphere. For local Rhode Islanders, it offers the convenience of being close to the ocean without the high-traffic noise and crowds of the immediate shoreline. The ability to switch between freshwater activities on the pond and saltwater fun at nearby beaches like East Matunuck or Narragansett Pier provides the best of both worlds.
Furthermore, the long-term community of seasonal campers creates a friendly, neighborhood feel that is often missing from larger, corporate-run RV resorts. If you value a quiet, safe place where your children can run free on a playground or take their first fishing trip on a calm pond, this campground is a premier choice. While the park maintains a rustic and "unplugged" vibe, its modern conveniences like WiFi and mobile payment options ensure a smooth stay. Choosing Worden Pond means choosing a piece of Rhode Island history and a place where family traditions can be built year after year.

Love the campground. Great relaxing. TRUE old time family time. We will always come back and and have family memories
The campground primarily caters to seasonal long-term campers, with only a limited number of non-seasonal spots available. It is conveniently located near water and by our destination, making it suitable for my family's needs. However, the pricing seems high relative to the overall condition of the grounds. Additionally, many of the seasonal sites appear poorly maintained, which diminishes the campground's overall appeal.
Very friendly family owned campground mostly seasonal
Very nice and quiet campground for the weekend visit! Bathhouse was very clean with free showers. Close to Newport and Narraganset! The pond is across the street and is beautiful! Staff was always on site and were very friendly! Big bundles of dry pine sold here for $5 a bundle. Closest store is 15 min away so stock up on beer and food prior to arriving for the best experience!
Since we just came here for one night to rest , we didn’t make the full experience but I can say, that the lake close to the entrance looks beautiful in the morning or evening and the restrooms were clean. I was not happy with the trash on the sites we have seen there. I know it is the peoples behaviour but I made other experience on other campgrounds were the service teams put immense of effort to get the sites clean and get rid of plastic and other trash until new customers are coming.
