What is worth choosing at Adirondack Gateway Campground is the authentic "off-the-grid" feeling combined with the security of a well-managed private park. It is the ideal choice for campers who find modern "resort-style" campgrounds too loud or over-scheduled. Here, the schedule is your own. You can spend the morning searching for Herkimer Diamonds nearby, the afternoon fishing in the quiet ponds, and the evening enjoying a campfire under one of the darkest night skies in the region. The spaciousness of the sites—some stretching up to 70 feet—means you won't feel cramped by your neighbors, allowing for a truly restorative experience.

Furthermore, the campground's proximity to the Adirondack State Park border makes it an excellent value for those who want to experience the mountains without the higher price tags or crowds found deeper in the park. The combination of well-kept seasonal sites and welcoming daily visitor spots creates a community that feels safe and established. If you value personal service, natural beauty, and a quiet place to reconnect with family and friends, Adirondack Gateway Campground stands out as one of the most genuine camping experiences available in Central New York today.

Full disclosure before my review:You may like this type of campground, but it wasn't for us.Very rustic, small, quiet campground in the middle of nowhere. Outbuildings are a little run down. There is a pool, but it was covered by heavy plastic, I guess to keep leaves out or grass clippings. It appears that the grounds are well kept. Most of the seasonal sites are well kept with newer units. There are no activities. We stayed here based on other reviews. Unfortunately, we can't say we agreed. We stayed one night.Other than the Herkimer Diamond Mines, there's nothing do here. The owner, Ann, was very nice.

This has been one of my favourite campgrounds on our entire trip! I was really nervous after looking at the website and seeing they don't accept online bookings. However they put us in a back in opposite a huge field, full hookups, lots of trails and places to run the dogs, great internet! . Laundry facility was good. Restrooms are a little dated but we don't need to use those as we have the RV. The owners are just so lovely and kind. Really enjoyed our stay here. Will upload more photos as I get them

Sites are easy to get into, we met some very nice people. The park is small and each site has plenty of room. Golf carts are welcome and there are plenty of trails to explore. The 4th of July fireworks display was amazing. It went on for 45mins. A great e at time was had.
