Trails End Campground and Mobile Home Park Introduce

For New York residents looking to escape the coastal humidity or the high-speed rhythm of city life, the transition into the Adirondack foothills offers a profound sense of relief. Trails End Campground and Mobile Home Park, located in the quiet community of Cold Brook, serves as a quintessential destination for local families who value the traditional camping experience. Set against the backdrop of the stunning Hinckley Reservoir, this campground combines the rugged beauty of a rustic wooded setting with the essential comforts that make a long weekend or a seasonal stay truly enjoyable. It is a place where the "trails end" and the relaxation begins, providing a sanctuary for those who want to immerse themselves in nature without traveling too far from home.

This destination is unique in its dual identity as both a vibrant recreational campground and a stable mobile home community. This blend creates a grounded, welcoming atmosphere where seasonal campers often become lifelong friends. Whether you are arriving with a high-tech RV, looking to rent a cozy cabin, or seeking a spot for a family wedding surrounded by nature, the property is designed to accommodate a diverse range of needs. The focus here is on togetherness; the layout of the grounds, from the large open fields to the communal pavilion, encourages social interaction while still offering enough privacy for those who simply want to listen to the wind through the pines.

Location and accessibility are major highlights for New Yorkers planning their northern excursions. Trails End Campground is situated at 438 Mac Arthur Road, Cold Brook, NY 13324. For local visitors, the drive is characterized by scenic winding roads that set the tone for a peaceful retreat. The management has prioritized inclusivity, ensuring that the main facilities are accessible to all guests, regardless of mobility needs.

What is worth choosing about Trails End Campground? For the local New Yorker, it is the sense of community and the unbeatable views. Visitors frequently cite "Site L3" and other waterfront spots as having some of the best views in the region, overlooking the expansive waters of the reservoir. Choosing this campground means opting for a site that is privately owned and operated with a personal touch. The management takes pride in the history of the land—part of a long-standing family farm—and that care translates into well-maintained grounds and a friendly, safe environment.

Furthermore, the affordability and variety of options make it a smart choice. Whether you are filling a propane tank for $18.00 or grabbing a bag of ice for $2.00 at the camp store, the prices are fair and the service is genuine. It is a place where you can bring the kids to run in the large fields, teach them to fish on the pond, or simply sit by a fire and enjoy the quiet Adirondack nights. In a world where many vacation spots feel increasingly commercial, Trails End remains a steadfast reminder of the simple joys of New York camping.

I grew up here. I love this place so much. The pond was fun, the beach, the cliff, the pavilion, the large fields, play ground, bath house, and tons of great people to get to know. It was a great experience. It might be better for a family to camp here instead of buying their own land to camp on, mainly because of the great people. Kids have much more to do at a camp like this. I recently visited my mom here who rented a cabin, it was very nice. It felt good to be by a fire on the campground again.

Our family camped here in September of 2019. This campground is privately owned and is a combination of seasonal and rental sites. We absolutely loved our campsite, and all agreed it has one of the best views of any campground we have ever stayed at. (Site #3). The camp store was awesome and had everything from camping supplies to ice cream. The employees were helpful and very nice. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back.***Just returned from trip #2. Even better, still site L3. Absolutely loved it. See pictures.***

First visit this past Memorial weekend in a cabin and even with horrible weather, we had a great time. The cabin was lovely with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. Really enjoyed the setup in the Cherry cabin and only complaint was the lighting issue. However, the staff was very friendly and we were given a lamp from the staff...perfect solution! The private beach was absolutely beautiful and we look forward to returning and actually using it!We will be returning, but still chose a “4”...I wish the bathroom and showers were more accessible to the cabins.

We have been staying here for many years and were sad to find some of the changes that have been made. All of shade trees have been removed from the cabin area (Cherry, Fern and Alder) so when its 90 plus every day there is NO shade. There used to be a PortaPotty out by the parking area for the 3 cabins which was fine but now there are 3 of them right next to the cabins bringing their smell and flies. There was food all over the ground when we arrived and we had to sweep our cabin. There were other campers in one of the cabins our first night and their dog was pooping all over and it was not being picked up. The paperwork stated that the garbage would be picked up nightly which it was not. The water supply for the cabins was nasty with old dish washing supplies there. The paperwork we received also said no bottles or dogs on the beach and we saw both.... I could go on.We love this place and so do our kids and now grandkids but I did not feel any owner presence. They used to stop by once in awhile. They would make sure all was well down at the beach... not sure about going back next year as there will be a huge new bar right next to what were 3 peaceful and quiet cabins. How can there be an enforced quiet time at 11pm when the bar probably doesn't close until 1? It was the best kept secret in the ADK until last fall.....
