Location and Accessibility
Allegheny River Campground is conveniently located at 1737 US-6, Roulette, PA 16746, USA. This prime location along the US Route 6 corridor makes it exceptionally easy to find for travelers navigating the northern part of the state. The proximity to the highway ensures that even large RV rigs can enter and exit the property without navigating difficult or narrow backroads. However, guests should note that its closeness to Route 6 means the sounds of the road are occasionally part of the experience, though many find the convenience of the location outweighs the ambient noise of the nearby thoroughfare.

The entrance is designed to be wheelchair accessible, and the parking lot includes dedicated accessible spaces. On-site parking is plentiful, allowing for a smooth check-in process and easy movement throughout the grounds. What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Allegheny River Campground is an excellent decision for anyone who values a community-focused, family-run atmosphere. One of the most compelling reasons to stay here is the riverside access; waking up to the gentle sounds of the Allegheny River and having the ability to cast a fishing line just steps from your camper is a luxury that sets this park apart from landlocked alternatives. The owners have made a significant effort to cater to families, making it one of the most kid-friendly options in Potter County. From the playground to the scheduled activities, there is always something to keep children engaged while parents relax.
Furthermore, for those who travel with pets, the inclusion of a dedicated dog park is a major advantage. While some reviews suggest the park could be larger, having a specific area for dogs to be off-leash is a significant convenience for long-term travelers. The campground’s reputation for having some of the best star-watching sites in Pennsylvania is also a major draw. Because it sits in a valley near the headwaters, the views of the night sky are often breathtaking, offering a glimpse of the cosmos that you simply cannot get in more urbanized parts of Pennsylvania. If you are looking for a clean, accessible, and friendly place to experience the "PA Wilds," this campground is well worth your consideration.

Customer Reviews
Beautiful, medium-sized, family run campground near the head-waters of the Allegheny River. We take the family every summer. Beautiful views and one of the best star-watching sites in Pennsylvania! The amenities are nice and clean. They also offer activities for the kids. Full hookup RV sites through primitive tent camping, and everything in between.
biggest complaint is nearness to us rt 6 and associated noise. nice campsite right on Allegheny river. pro: dog park - con: dog park could be bigger. last weekend of season and plenty privacy
Beautiful campground. The premium sites are gorgeous. The sights are level, comes with two chairs, table, picnic bench, Fire pit,and a concrete pad. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained.
We spent a wonderful weekend at this campground with our extended family. We rented 2 cabins and 1 cottage. The cabins had bathrooms and slept all 4 of us comfortably. I must say the beds are very uncomfortable, very thin mattress. But all in all, understandable. The cottage had the same types of mattresses but a larger fridge, 2 burner cooktop as well as all of the plates and cooking utensils. You do need to provide your own linens. The campground has a phenomenal pool, mini golf, little peddle cart and really tasty ice cream. We are regular campers and were very impressed with this campground. We did notice full hookup sites which if we came back we would definitely take advantage of. My kids purchased tubes from the shop and did a mini float down the river.Overall this was a very clean, fun place. The staff we encountered was also very friendly and helpful.Recommend a visit to this location.
The campground is nice, but our experience was not. We stayed at site T7 (tent only) on a holiday weekend. The campground had a special display of fireworks, and we had fun tubing in the creek. Their pool is very nice. We had hoped for a quiet getaway, but this was not the case. Other campers enjoyed playing loud music in the creek, and we were awoken one night at 1 am from loud music within the campground. Be aware that if you stay at site T7, there is a house directly across the creek that was also quite noisy while we were there. We did have a noise issue at 7 am in the morning (quiet hours are supposedly 10 pm to 8 am), but the camp admin responded to my email about that and said they would take care of it. Other mornings were quieter for us. I wish the nighttime quiet hours had been enforced just as quickly. The campground does not have an alcohol policy or guidelines, so I’m quite sure that some of the loud music was a result of the partying that happened at all hours. Not the family environment I was expecting. We also had multiple people walk across our tent site during our stay. They were pulling tubes out of the creek (our site had direct access to the creek) and also to gain access to the house across the creek. Very disrespectful to our space. As much as we enjoyed the creek access, tubing, and pool, the noise disturbances and constant intrusions on our campsite are enough to say that we will not return to this campground. I did email about my experience to the campground, but only received an apology in response. There was no indication that they would follow up with my complaints to reinforce their rules in the future.
