Arrowhead Marina & RV Park Introduce
For outdoor enthusiasts and road-trippers in the New York region, Arrowhead Marina & RV Park offers a unique blend of riverfront beauty and convenient accessibility. Located in the town of Glenville, just outside of Schenectady, this RV park serves as a serene sanctuary for those traveling along the I-90 corridor or exploring the historic Mohawk Valley. Known for its lush green spaces and towering hardwood trees that provide dappled shade, the park is a favorite among local New Yorkers who appreciate a quiet, well-maintained environment where they can reconnect with nature without straying too far from urban amenities.
The park is more than just a place to park an RV; it is a fully integrated marina and camping destination. Situated directly on the banks of the Mohawk River, which serves as part of the Erie Canal system, Arrowhead Marina & RV Park provides a picturesque backdrop for every stay. Whether you are looking for a peaceful spot to watch the sunset over the water or a base camp for exploring the nearby capital region, the atmosphere here is one of relaxation and community. With 64 mostly shady sites, the park accommodates a range of vehicles, from small travel trailers to big rigs, all while maintaining a park-like setting that feels worlds away from the hustle of the city.
Location and accessibility are two of the park's strongest assets. Situated at 2 Van Buren Ln, Schenectady, NY 12302, the park is less than 10 minutes from downtown Schenectady and only 5 minutes from the Village of Scotia. Its proximity to the NYS Thruway (Exit 26) makes it an effortless stop for travelers. For local users, the highlight is the direct access to the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail, a paved path completely separated from traffic that allows for miles of scenic exercise and exploration. The entrance is thoughtfully designed with wheelchair-accessible parking and restrooms, ensuring all guests can navigate the grounds with ease.
Being a waterfront property between Locks 8 and 9 of the Erie Canal, the park is also accessible by boat, offering transient dockage for those navigating the historic waterway. For land-based travelers, the nearby Village of Scotia provides essential resources including grocery stores, banks, and medical services. This combination of seclusion and convenience makes it a strategic choice for both short-term overnight stays and longer explorations of the Capital-Saratoga region.

What is worth choosing about Arrowhead Marina & RV Park is the balance of a professional resort-style infrastructure with the charm of a local family-owned business. For many New Yorkers, this is the go-to spot for an "easy" getaway that doesn't sacrifice quality. It is worth choosing specifically for its dual nature as both a land and water destination; the ability to launch a boat and stay in your RV at the same location is a rare luxury in the Schenectady area. Furthermore, the exceptional quality of the park's maintenance—from the level gravel pads to the spotless laundry facilities—sets it apart from more rugged campgrounds.
The park is also a 10/10 choice for those who value connectivity and exercise. With high-speed WiFi and immediate access to the Empire State Trail system, you can stay as plugged-in or as active as you desire. While you may hear the occasional distant train whistle, most guests find it adds to the nostalgic charm of the riverside setting. For a peaceful, safe, and beautifully landscaped camping experience in upstate New York, Arrowhead Marina & RV Park remains a top-tier selection. Whether you're here for one night or a week, the "picture perfect" location and the dappled shade of the hardwoods make every visit feel like a true vacation.

What a beautiful and quiet RV Park. This place was recommended by friends as somewhere to stay on our road trip going west. Tall trees with dappled shade, green grass, and level sites. There’s a nice laundry room ($1.50 wash, $1.75 dry, and change making machine) with a small lending library in the same building as the restrooms and showers. The showers are older and not spectacular, but get the job done.I was in contact with a very nice and helpful woman that took my reservation months ahead, helped me on the phone when I needed a date change, and then checked us in upon arrival. We’re about to head off on our bikes on the very nearby trail (separated completely from traffic) for some exercise and see the surrounding area after a long day on the road.
The campground is very nice. It is right on the Mohawk river. It has a boat ramp, and a lot of dock space on the river. There are a couple of benches on the dock on one side of the boat ramp, and a wide lawn space on the other side to set out a chair and enjoy the view of the river. Most of the sites, including ours, were nicely wooded with mature hardwood trees. There is ample green space in the campground. We were initially assigned site #46, a back-in 50 amp with water but no sewer. It was a lovely site, but there were trees on both sides that were close to the coach. Close enough that I didn't feel I could safely get the slides out. It was a shame because it was a pretty site that had good spacing between sites, and it was perfectly level.I went to the office to ask if they had another site. Wendy, the person in the office, said we could move to site #48, a pull-through 50 amp with water, but no sewer. It was a nice long site, but was not level either front to back (front low) nor side to side. Ended up having to use ramps under the tires to be able to level without lifting a tire off the ground.Spacing for the pull-through is standard commercial campground (30 foot) angled parallel. Spacing for the back-ins was a little more generous. There is no road noise, but there is a train track close enough to be able to easily hear the train whistle even inside the coach with the a/c running. The trains run frequently, 7x24.Verizon: 1-2 bars LTE, 23.1 Mbps down, 7.63 Mbps up; AT&T data 17.52 Mbps down, 7.52 Mbps up. Campground WiFi 139.13 Mbps down.Clean laundry room with two washers ($1.75 per 30 minute load) and three dryers ($1.50 per 45 minute load).Bath house was clean.Big Rig friendly.
I stayed here while riding the Empire State Trail and got one of the tent sites. The manager was friendly and attentive. The showers and washrooms were clean and in good shape. It is close to a busy train track but things quieted down at night.
This is a well kept and very clean and family run campground. Scenic views on the Mohawk River. Be aware that Starlink use is very spotty at best as there is a lot of tree canopy. The one bath house was clean for the most part but needs updating The showers were very small inside and needed also need plumbing work. We did not see any handicap accessible showers. We were really disappointed by the very loud road noise and very loud non stop train horns. If you overnight here you better have ear plugs.
Lovely setting with awell run purpose. Close but well kept larger sites than the typical camping resorts. A well thought out with meticulous care to detail in a very simple and appreciated way.Unlike too many private campgrounds that are just as greedy as corporations , you will not find that here, just fairness in a time of money first second and third. May your business continue to be blessed for all your days, for our Righteous ways will always prevail..... even when it doesnt look that way.Peaceful flowing river and peaceful free flowing showers♥️
