Camp Coldbrook RV Resort Introduce

Camp Coldbrook RV Resort is a large-scale, destination-style campground nestled on 156 acres of rolling hills and tall pines in Barre, Massachusetts. Located in the picturesque Ware River Valley, this resort is designed for travelers who prefer a "resort" atmosphere over a primitive wilderness experience. With over 400 sites, it caters to a wide demographic, ranging from weekend adventurers to long-term seasonal residents. The property is known for its high energy, particularly during the summer months when themed weekends and community events bring a lively, social buzz to the grounds.

As a GoPrimeGroup property, Camp Coldbrook emphasizes shared recreation and community engagement. It is one of the few facilities in Central Massachusetts that combines traditional RV camping with a dedicated executive par-3 golf course. The park's philosophy centers on providing a "fun-filled getaway," making it a popular choice for those who enjoy music, social gatherings, and a variety of on-site entertainment options. While the resort offers a peaceful backdrop of the Ware River Watershed, the interior of the park is often bustling with activity, including golf carts, poolside gatherings, and evening entertainment that defines the quintessential summer vacation experience in the Bay State.

The resort is situated at 864 Old Coldbrook Rd, Barre, MA 01005, making it a central point for exploring the rural charm of the region. Barre itself is a historic town that offers a quiet, small-town feel, yet the resort is conveniently located within a short drive of major Massachusetts hubs. It is approximately 40 minutes from Worcester and about an hour and fifteen minutes from Boston, making it an accessible retreat for residents across the Commonwealth. The park borders the immense 22,000-acre Ware River Watershed Wildlife Management Area, providing a vast natural buffer for those who wish to step off the resort grounds and into the deep woods.

Accessibility at Camp Coldbrook is well-integrated into the main facility areas. The resort features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, accessible restrooms, and dedicated parking lots. The main roads throughout the park are paved or well-packed gravel, facilitating easier movement for large RV rigs and golf carts alike. Upon arrival, visitors will find a gated entry system that helps manage traffic flow into the expansive property. For local visitors coming from the east or west, the resort is most easily reached via Route 122 or Route 67, both of which offer scenic views of the central Massachusetts landscape.

Camp Coldbrook RV Resort provides a comprehensive array of services tailored to modern RV living and family recreation. The resort aims to be a one-stop destination where guests have everything they need for an extended stay. Services offered include:

  • Full RV hookups including electric (30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer services.
  • On-site dining and refreshments at the Woodside Tavern.
  • A well-stocked country store and gift shop for camping essentials and souvenirs.
  • Laundry facilities for the convenience of long-term and seasonal guests.
  • Propane refilling services located on-site.
  • Gated and secure park entrance with on-site management.
  • Planned social activities and themed event weekends throughout the peak season.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi hotspots available in communal areas like the clubhouse and tavern.

The highlights of Camp Coldbrook center on its unique recreational infrastructure, which sets it apart from more traditional, rustic campgrounds. Key features include:

What makes Camp Coldbrook RV Resort worth choosing is its ability to serve as a self-contained vacation destination. For many local families, the draw is the constant stream of activity; from morning rounds of golf to afternoon pool parties and evening karaoke or DJ sets, there is rarely a dull moment. It is worth choosing if you value a social environment where you can easily meet fellow travelers and participate in group events. The inclusion of free golf for campers is a significant value-add that is rarely found in other Massachusetts RV parks, making it a favorite for enthusiasts of the sport who want to practice their short game in a relaxed setting.

Furthermore, the resort’s location provides a unique opportunity to experience both "high-energy" and "low-energy" recreation. While the heart of the park is lively, the surrounding Ware River Valley and Quabbin Reservoir offer some of the most tranquil hiking and birdwatching in the state. Prospective visitors should be aware that the park is known for its vibrant social scene, which often includes music and gatherings that may extend into the late evening. For those who enjoy a festive, communal atmosphere and want a home base that offers more than just a place to park an RV, Camp Coldbrook provides a full-service resort experience in the heart of the Massachusetts countryside.

This campground has been one of the worst I have ever stayed at. The seasonals blasted music the entire stay, and I do mean BLASTED. All throughout the day, and even louder at night. FAR past quiet time. Till 3 am they have music blasting and they were screaming into their microphones. We tried asking them nicely to quiet down so the kids could sleep and we were met with swearing and yelling. The entire campground can hear them at their site. They also ride around in their strobing and flashing golfcart with a very loud speaker. The staff was informed a few times and did nothing to stop it. If you have children or if you value sleeping more than 15 minutes a night do not book a site here. We have come a few years in a row and will not be returning.

Don’t come here if you like sleeping at reasonable hours. I type this past midnight because the karaoke session is so loud at someone’s site two streets away we can hear it through the walls of our camper. We called the office an hour ago and guess what, no one did a thing because my kids drove by and saw the truck of the guy who was working the office parked at the party. I feel bad for anyone in tents or tent trailers if it’s this loud for us. Won’t be back here again and very likely won’t complete my stay.

The management in the office didnt clarify where I was supposed to be stationed after lying to my face and telling me I was in thw wrong spot because someone else was suppose to be in our designated camp spot that they never labeled. He proceeded to ignore us and when i spoke up was dismissed. I enjoy the staff that help the place run but id rather camp in my yard over camping here with the BIG guy in management that does nothing.

The noise is terrible. Long term residents feel that they can blast, and I mean blast, music because it’s not quiet hours. We had stayed here before and had an excellent experience, but after this year, I don’t think I’ll ever come back.

The people are nice till they have a party and the people that stay for the season with golf carts get drunk and trash everyone's property. Almost packed up early in fear of a big fight. They need to ban the alcohol in that camp. No respect for quite time.
