Deep Branch Family Campground Introduce
Deep Branch Family Campground is a welcoming outdoor retreat nestled in the serene, wooded landscape of Milton, Delaware. Formerly known as Eagles Nest Family Campground, this destination has been a staple for local families and travelers since 2004. Managed with a focus on creating a "slice of paradise," the campground offers a quiet, respectful atmosphere that contrasts the bustling energy of the nearby coastal resorts. Whether you are looking to pitch a tent under a canopy of mature trees, park your RV in a spacious lot, or enjoy the rustic comfort of a cabin, Deep Branch provides a foundational outdoor experience in the heart of Sussex County.
The campground is uniquely positioned to offer the best of both worlds: the peace of a forest setting and the excitement of Delaware’s famous coastline. Residents and visitors alike appreciate the community-oriented vibe, which is reinforced by friendly onsite staff who are dedicated to helping guests create lasting memories. From evening campfires to sunny afternoons at the playground, the environment is specifically designed to be "good for kids," making it a top choice for families in the Delaware region looking for an affordable and engaging vacation spot.
Location and accessibility are among the campground's strongest assets. Situated at 13177 Eagles Nest Trail in Milton, the park is approximately 0.70 miles north of Broadkill Road and sits just west of the heavily traveled Coastal Highway (Route 1). This prime location means that campers are only a 10 to 15-minute drive from the pristine sands of Broadkill Beach and the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. Furthermore, the premier attractions of Lewes and Rehoboth Beach—including the famous boardwalks and tax-free outlet shopping—are within easy reach for day trips.
The facility is designed to be inclusive, offering features that cater to all guests. Accessibility is a priority, with the campground providing wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restroom facilities. The interior roads are navigable for various vehicle types, and the proximity to major transit corridors ensures that reaching the park is straightforward for those coming from Dover, Wilmington, or across the Bay Bridge. On-site parking is plentiful, and the park is structured to accommodate everything from compact pop-up campers to larger travel trailers.
- Wooded and open campsites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs.
- Cozy cabin rentals equipped with air conditioning, heating units, and wall outlets.
- Electrical hookups (30-amp and 50-amp options available) and water services at most sites.
- Heated bathhouse with modern hot shower facilities and worship music for a serene atmosphere.
- Honey wagon service available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for sewage management.
- On-site laundry facilities for guest convenience during extended stays.

The features and highlights of Deep Branch Family Campground emphasize its commitment to traditional family fun. A central playground serves as a hub for younger campers, while the spacious grounds allow for bike riding and exploration. The campground is also well-known for its picnic areas and a pavilion that can host outdoor events. For those who enjoy a bit of competition, the park offers classic games like bocce, horseshoes, volleyball, and corn hole. While the pool is undergoing significant renovations to prepare for future seasons, the nearby Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay provide endless water-based recreation just minutes away.
- A designated pet-friendly environment where dogs are allowed at tent and RV sites.
- Proximity to world-class fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the Prime Hook area.

Deep Branch Family Campground is worth choosing for those who prioritize value, tranquility, and a family-centric mission. In a region where beach-front lodging can be prohibitively expensive, this campground provides a high-quality alternative that keeps you close to the action without the high-density crowds. The management's recent commitment to infrastructure improvements—including city-standard utility connections and the expansion of the park's footprint—demonstrates a long-term investment in the guest experience. For many local families, the draw is the staff's personal touch and the peaceful "back-to-basics" feel of cooking over a fire and sleeping under the stars.
Choosing this park means supporting a local business that values community and hospitality. Whether you are a "hardcore weekender" or a first-time camper, the blend of wooded privacy and coastal proximity makes Deep Branch a standout choice in the Delaware outdoor hospitality sector. It remains a place where memories are made, traditions are started, and the natural beauty of the First State can be enjoyed to its fullest.

Customer Reviews
Update from my last post and the Campground’s response.Pam.- We accept your apologies.I do want to clarify that what I wrote was exactly what happened. From the moment we shared with you that we found bed bugs in your cabin and that I was bitten several times, you did not believe us. We showed you dead and live ones, but you were always just waiting for your “review”, which we never received an answer for. Instead, you repeated that “[you] had zero [bed bug] issues last year due to measures [you] took. [We] were the very first rental of this cabin this year.” Well, bed bugs can grow resistant to treatment and hide, and they will only become active when there is a host, and they sure were active when they bit me so much that I had a severe allergic reaction and an infection that could have quickly become serious if I had not gone to urgent care and received medical treatment.Obviously, the measures you have taken are not enough, and you need to do more so that it does not become a regular experience at your campground. On my part, there was no communication issue nor language barrier. After our terrible experience, I asked you for a full refund and you were clear when you said you would not do that. The most you would do was refund us for the nights we did not stay and the deposit (after you checked that we left the cabin clean…). Then, you said you could give us a rain check that we could use next time we would go, but of course, we don’t plan to do that after all that has happened, so it was of no use to us. I talked to you in person to help you understand the cost and how bad this whole situation was for us, but you didn’t want to understand—you were too busy prepping for a picnic. A partial refund was all you would do.Now, after the review I posted, I can confirm that you have given me a full refund, but when I talked to you in person, you gave me the partial refund and said that you would not answer my calls nor emails even if I reached out to you 500 times. I’m grateful that you see things differently now. I hope that you don’t treat other customers the same way you treated us.As I told you when I made the reservation, this was not our first stay at this campground. We have been there several times since 2004, inviting family and friends to spend numerous weekends and weeks with us when it was under Eagles Nest Management. We never had any problems or complaints; our experience there was always spectacular. We created many memories with our family and friends and that was our intent again this year, but sadly, it was absolutely awful. So, after this entirely bad experience, I hope you take greater measures to take care of your campground so that this won’t happen again to any of your customers, and please be more considerate and empathetic towards your customers, and resolve problems promptly.I want to end by wishing you, your team, and the owners the best, and thank you for your response.********************************************
Beautiful campground in the woods! It was amazing to camp here. They have a playground which was great for the kids. We were also 10 minutes from the beach so it was great to stop by the beach during the day. We got to cook over the fire. There were some mosquitoes but nothing out of ordinary. We used some incense sticks that worked well. Some reviews talked about some smell. We smelled something slightly one night but it wasn’t overpowering. Overall the smell was not an issue. The showers were great with hot water. Loved how the bathroom had worship music playing constantly. Also Pam was so nice and accommodating. Really appreciated all her help!! Thank you!
Several weeks ago I made a reservation at this campground, the day before check in,we had a sudden death in the family I called the campground and told them what happened hoping maybe due to the circumstances they would issue a refund,I totally understand the campground can't control circumstances such as weather and whatnot but a little empathy goes along way to say the least I have been in contact with the management there and they have gone out of their way to more than make things right! and I did not realize they issued a refund
Great little campground. Took my boys for a week and had a blast. Cabin was clean and a quaint.
Great family campground! Beautiful well put together. Lots to do and the staff makes your weekend perfect! They had a movie in the pool.. amazing. Beautiful scenery great place to get away for the weekend!
