Homestead Campground Introduce
Homestead Campground serves as a premier destination for those seeking an authentic outdoor experience in the heart of Southern Delaware. Located in Georgetown, this family-oriented campground offers a sprawling retreat that balances the rustic charm of nature with modern, high-quality amenities. Whether you are a local resident looking for a weekend getaway or a visitor exploring the Delaware shoreline, Homestead provides a versatile range of accommodations, including spacious RV sites, cozy camping cabins, and traditional tent sites. The park is well-regarded for its clean, well-maintained facilities and its commitment to providing a safe, inclusive environment for all guests, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.
For Delawareans, Homestead Campground is more than just a place to park a trailer; it is a community-focused hub where families can unplug and reconnect. The campground is designed with variety in mind, offering both wooded and non-wooded lots to suit different preferences. Its seasonal operations, typically running from May through September, align perfectly with the peak Maryland and Delaware beach seasons, providing a cost-effective alternative to high-priced oceanfront hotels. With a professional management team and a reputation for spotless bathhouses and manicured grounds, Homestead remains a top choice for seasonal campers and short-term travelers alike who value organization and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
Situated at 25165 Prettyman Rd, Georgetown, DE 19947, Homestead Campground occupies a strategic location that offers peace and quiet without sacrificing convenience. It is nestled approximately 7 miles west of historic Lewes and the expansive Cape Henlopen State Park, placing it just "around the corner" from Delaware’s most famous beaches and tax-free shopping at the Tanger Outlets. The campground is easily accessible via US-9 and DE-1, making it a straightforward drive for residents coming from Dover, Wilmington, or even nearby Salisbury, Maryland. Its location is particularly ideal for those attending local events such as Sports at the Beach or activities at the Dover Motor Speedway.
Accessibility is a priority at Homestead, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the park's offerings. The facility features wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms. The terrain is largely flat and well-laid out, with spacious pull-thru sites that can accommodate even the largest rigs up to 80 feet in length. This accessibility extends to the recreational areas, allowing everyone to participate in the community-focused lifestyle that the park encourages. While the campground offers a sense of seclusion, it remains close enough to essential services in Georgetown and Lewes to ensure that guests are never far from medical care, groceries, or dining options.
Homestead Campground is a full-service facility that provides everything needed for a comfortable stay. The services offered include:
- Full-Service RV Camping: Sites include electric (30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer hookups to accommodate modern motorhomes and trailers.
- Cabin Rental Agency: Five fully equipped cabins that sleep between 4 and 8 people, providing "home away from home" comforts like mini-fridges, microwaves, and Keurig machines.
- Tent and Pop-Up Sites: Dedicated spaces for more traditional camping, equipped with seasonal water and electric services.
- On-Site Sanitation: A 24-hour laundry facility and multiple clean, modern bathhouses with public showers and restrooms.

Choosing Homestead Campground is a decision that prioritizes value, variety, and a family-first atmosphere. It is worth choosing because it manages to bridge the gap between a high-energy resort and a quiet nature retreat. For families with children, the sheer volume of activities—from the splash pad and movie nights to the fishing pond—means that there is never a dull moment. Conversely, the spacious site layouts and the adult-only pool provide the necessary breathing room for those seeking a more relaxed pace. The park is especially noted for its "clean and friendly" culture, which is a testament to the hard-working management team.
Furthermore, the campground's proximity to the Delaware beaches makes it a strategic "home base." You can spend your day in the surf at Rehoboth or Dewey Beach and return to the quiet of Georgetown to avoid the late-night coastal crowds. With flexible payment options including credit and debit cards, and a commitment to being an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safespace, Homestead ensures that every guest feels welcome. Whether you are staying in a premium pull-thru RV site or a cozy cabin, the experience at Homestead Campground is designed to create lasting memories in one of Delaware's most beautiful regions. Would you like me to look into the specific availability for an upcoming holiday weekend or provide more details on their cabin layouts?

Customer Reviews
Campground is very clean. The bathrooms were spotless. One complaint- not on the campground itself- when you are sleeping in your tent at night- you can hear the road traffic- that’s not a complaint against the campground, though. We enjoyed our stay. Friendly people, clean facilities, and great amenities.
$117 for one night. Admittedly, it was holiday weekend. Nothing available, so we had to book this Campground.Very busy Campground. Nice place if you have kids. However, we did not. Kids running in and out of our campsite the whole day and night. Screaming, loud and the opposite of a relaxing evening. Not to mention golf carts going by every two seconds.Great for families and kids, but not for us :(
Grandparents just got a place here and it's clean, family friendly, relaxed and overall laid back! Im at ease with them being there by themselves and everyone has been so nice... thats def a change from the norm day to day! Anyway overall so far so good and has surpassed our expectations!! Definitely check it out!!!
Homestead campground this was our first seasonal site here and we are so happy with the management and the facilities the people are great and they really care about the community.Amazing place to camp.
stayed here with friends last week and let me say Horrible Wi-Fi and connection! it’s important to note they Claim to have free WiFi which works MAYBE 50% of the time and forget use of the “ free wifi lounge” which doesn’t have a direct stream of connection either. Would not recommend for anyone working from home or dependent on technology. Important to note that after speaking with a woman in the office (which was unwelcoming and unpleasant) I was told they are still “fixing the issue” (which has been going on for years now)
