DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday Introduce

For residents of the Keystone State looking to immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of the Pennsylvania Wilds, the DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday offers a sprawling and multi-faceted retreat. Located in Clearfield County, this facility is more than just a standard campground; it is an expansive outdoor destination that serves as a gateway to 9,000 acres of wooded splendor. Whether you are a local traveler from the Pittsburgh area or a visitor exploring the Allegheny Mountain foothills, this KOA Holiday provides a unique blend of traditional camping and resort-style amenities. The property is designed to accommodate every level of outdoor enthusiast, from those seeking the simplicity of a tent site under the stars to travelers looking for the refined comfort of a deluxe cabin or lodge.

The atmosphere at DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday is defined by its integration into the semi-private Treasure Lake community. This setting allows campers to enjoy a sense of security and exclusivity that is rare in the camping world. The environment is one of quiet transition—as you enter the gated community and wind through the forested residential areas, the stress of the highway fades away, replaced by the sights and sounds of the Pennsylvania wilderness. It is a place where families gather for multi-generational reunions, where golfers find easy access to award-winning courses, and where nature lovers can find solitude on a quiet hiking trail. The park maintains the high standards associated with the KOA Holiday brand, focusing on creating a "home base" for adventurers of all ages.

Location and accessibility are primary features of this destination. Situated at 95 Coral Reef Rd, DuBois, PA 15801, USA, the campground is remarkably easy to reach for Pennsylvania locals. It is located just one mile off Interstate 80 at Exit 101, making it a convenient stop for those traversing the state from east to west. Despite its proximity to the interstate, the actual campground is nestled deep within the Treasure Lake gated community. Guests typically check in at the main security building to receive their welcome packets before driving approximately five miles through a scenic residential area to reach the heart of the campground. This layout ensures that the camping area remains peaceful and shielded from through-traffic, offering a true "getaway" feel while remaining close to the conveniences of the city of DuBois.

The surrounding region offers a wealth of exploration opportunities for those staying at the KOA. A short drive will take you to the Elk Country Visitor Center, where you can witness the largest free-roaming elk herd in the Northeastern United States. For those who enjoy local flavors, the PA Great Outdoors Wine Trail and various local distilleries are within easy reach. The location effectively serves as a central hub for the Tri-County area, putting guests within a short distance of shopping, regional hospitals, and local dining favorites like Station 101 Pub and Duffers’ Tavern. This balance of secluded wilderness and nearby suburban amenities makes it a practical choice for both weekend warriors and long-term seasonal residents.

Services offered at DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday are comprehensive, designed to provide a "full-service" experience for campers. The management emphasizes convenience, offering modern payment options including NFC mobile payments and major credit cards. A significant part of the service experience includes access to the broader Treasure Lake amenities, which are typically reserved for residents and members. This includes professional-grade facilities for sports, dining, and water recreation. The staff is dedicated to maintaining the 130+ campsites and ensuring that guests have everything they need for a successful stay, from firewood delivery to information on local hiking routes.

  • Full-service RV camping with both pull-thru and back-in sites, including 50-amp electrical service.
  • Renovated camping cabins and deluxe lodges that offer "glamping" style accommodations.
  • On-site snack bar and a well-supplied campground store for essentials and souvenirs.
  • Professional marina services with rentals for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats.
  • Lodge building rentals available for family reunions, weddings, and large group meetings.
  • On-site laundry facilities and clean "Comfort Centers" with hot showers and restrooms.
  • Propane refill services and a sanitary dump station for RV travelers.
  • Guided information and access to two top PGA-rated 18-hole golf courses (Silver and Gold).

The features and highlights of the park cater specifically to families and pet owners. One of the most sought-after features is the "KOA Patio" sites, which offer spacious gravel pads and concrete patios with polywood furniture and built-in fire pits. For those traveling with children, the park is a playground in itself, offering both organized activities and natural exploration. The community's white sand beaches are a major highlight during the summer months, providing a coastal experience in the middle of the Pennsylvania mountains. Furthermore, the park is exceptionally pet-friendly, featuring two dedicated "KampK9" dog parks to ensure your four-legged family members have plenty of space to run.

  • Access to Treasure Lake’s white sand beaches for swimming and sunbathing.
  • Two private dog parks (KampK9) located near the store and the comfort centers.
  • Large outdoor swimming pool (seasonal) and multiple community playgrounds.
  • Recreational facilities for volleyball, basketball, gaga ball, and corn hole.
  • Mining sluice for kids to pan for "treasures" right on the campground.
  • Kid-friendly hiking trails that surround the tranquil Little Flipper Lake.
  • Two 18-hole championship golf courses with on-site pro shops and taverns.
  • Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking, and restroom facilities.
  • Proximity to world-class fly fishing and bass fishing in three different lakes.

If you are planning a visit to the DuBois area or wish to book a specific site for the upcoming season, it is recommended to contact the office directly. Due to its location within a gated community, having your reservation details and check-in instructions ready before arrival is essential for a smooth entry.

What is worth choosing about DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday is the sheer scale of the experience it offers. For a local Pennsylvania resident, it represents a high-value staycation where you can enjoy the "country club lifestyle" without the high price tag of a resort. Choosing this KOA means you aren't just getting a campsite; you are getting a pass into one of the state's most beautiful gated communities. The ability to wake up in a wooded campsite and then spend the afternoon on a PGA-rated golf course or a sandy beach is a combination that few other campgrounds in the Northeast can match. The "extra-large" sites, frequently cited by guests as some of the biggest in the KOA system, provide the privacy and space needed for modern "big rig" RVs and large family setups.

Furthermore, the park is worth choosing because of its location within the Pennsylvania Wilds. It serves as a perfect education for children about local wildlife and conservation, while still offering the comfort of Wi-Fi and modern amenities for the parents. Whether you are using the park as a quiet "base camp" for exploring the Elk Visitor Center or you are staying put to enjoy the swimming pool and mining sluice, the facility offers a reliable and safe environment. For those who value a secure, quiet, and amenity-rich camping experience in the heart of the mountains, DuBois / Treasure Lake KOA Holiday stands out as a premier selection for your next outdoor adventure.

It is the first time that I have been to a KOA in a gated community, and it was very strange. You drive up to the gate, let the guard, who was very rude, know that you have a KOA reservation, and you drive to an office, about 1.5 miles from the gate to check in. Once you check in, you drive about another 5 miles down a road to find your site. The pool and what they think is a camp store, is about 1 mile from the RV sites. We were here for three night and never saw any KOA staff. Speed limits and quiet hours are a joke. We never saw a K9 Camp. This KOA has A LOT OF PERMANENT PARTY-so many, one would think it was a town inside a KOA campground. The bathroom house was dirty-trash overflowing, showers mold and mildew-I had cleaner showers when I was in Iraq. This place is a poor excuse for a KOA.

We stayed in one of the studio cabins. We were told all cabins were recently renovated. We paid $600 for 3 nights because that was the minimum stay. The cabin was awful and disgusting. Not renovated whatsoever. It had not been cleaned very well if at all. The floor was filthy, stove and oven disgusting. The shower is not large enough for a person to shower. It was extremely outdated. The fridge was leaking. We were told it had free wifi but the wifi did not work. Everyone we spoke to about it gave us different answers. We tried everything and could not get the wifi to work which their TV runs off of. The room smelled so awful our poor son got sick on day 2. You can rent a hotel room for half of this price and alot nicer. I would not recommend this to anyone especially for the price they charge. The campground is very nice and peaceful but the cabins should just be torn down and completely built from scratch especially when they charge almost $200 a night for them.

Nice campground and great staff, especially Dot.2nd time camping here. The only negative comment is I wish there was a way to better monitor dog owners to pick up after their animals. We noticed several people allowing their dogs use the bathroom and then just walk away.

Had to travel 5 miles to get to the camsite trying to avoid low haning braches. This place is not good for the larger campers. We get there and our site was swampy. We will not be going back to stay there. Who needs to lose an airconditioner anyway. The staff was nice, but that is the only thing I can say about it. If You have smaller campers and you doin't mind being in swamp then I say go!
