Egg Harbor Lake Campground Introduce

Egg Harbor Lake Campground offers a quintessential South Jersey outdoor experience, nestled deep within the scenic New Jersey Pine Barrens. This family-oriented destination is a favorite for local residents seeking a peaceful retreat where the scent of fir trees and the tranquility of the forest provide a perfect backdrop for relaxation. The campground is centered around a clean, spring-fed lake that serves as the heart of the community, offering a refreshing escape during the warm summer months. Whether you are a seasoned camper or a family looking for a weekend getaway, the park provides a welcoming atmosphere that balances rustic charm with modern recreational facilities.

Under management that prioritizes the traditional camping experience, the grounds are meticulously integrated into the natural wooded landscape. It is widely recognized for its "old-world" feel, inspired by the rich German heritage of Egg Harbor City. The campground serves not only as a place to pitch a tent or park an RV but as a social hub where children can play safely and adults can recharge. With lifeguard-monitored swimming and a variety of courts and courses, it remains one of the most comprehensive recreational spots in Atlantic County.

Conveniently located at 2400 Philadelphia Ave, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215, the campground is exceptionally accessible for New Jersey locals. It sits roughly 20 miles northwest of Atlantic City, making it a short 22-minute drive for those coming from the shore. For residents of Philadelphia or the surrounding suburbs, the trip is under an hour via major thoroughfares like the Atlantic City Expressway and Route 30 (White Horse Pike). Its proximity to the Wharton State Forest and the Renault Winery offers additional nearby excursions for those looking to explore the wider region.

The campground is situated adjacent to the City Lake Park, ensuring that while you are deep in the woods, you are never far from local dining and essential shopping. Accessibility features are integrated into the facility, including wheelchair-accessible parking lots and restrooms, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the area. On-site parking is plentiful, and the internal roads are designed to accommodate various sizes of recreational vehicles.

Egg Harbor Lake Campground is worth choosing because it provides a rare opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature without leaving the convenience of New Jersey. The lake itself is the standout feature; unlike many inland water bodies, it is noted for its clarity and the "amazing" swimming experience it provides. For families, the value is unbeatable, as many activities like mini-golf and the game room are included or offered at a very low cost, making it an affordable alternative to more expensive resort destinations.

The campground’s location in the Pine Barrens offers a unique ecological experience. Residents often mention the "fresh forest scent" and the shaded, wooded campsites that stay cool even in the height of summer. Furthermore, the park is particularly well-suited for those with dogs, as it is pet-friendly and features plenty of space for leashed walking. If you are looking for a community-oriented environment where you can enjoy traditional camping values—like evening fires, friendly neighbors, and outdoor sports—while remaining just a short drive from the shopping and nightlife of the Jersey Shore, Egg Harbor Lake Campground is an excellent selection. It is a place designed for making memories, whether it's through a child’s first swim in the lake or a quiet morning hike through the pines.

I absolutely love this place! Everything you need is close by, and the clean lake is especially amazing — swimming there is so much fun. The best time to visit is when the temperature is between 75–80°F; after that, it can get a bit stuffy. The staff is super friendly, and I really enjoy the fresh forest scent in this campground — it reminds me of a fir tree forest. A great place to relax and recharge!

I input the dates for my trip & received the following info. Before I booked I looked at the website & found they were closed most of the week I wanted to book. I spoke to the owner who refused to even work with me on it, said it didn't show what I took a picture of and told me if I wanted to spend that amount I should go to a state park. That is false advertising & I am also sending this to the BBB

It's always a good relaxing time here. This time around, we stayed in the Yort. What a great idea they were comfortable and well maintained, and they were air conditioned they were priced relatively inexpensive for the comfort of not having to build a tent. The staff was very hospitable and welcoming we hope to return soon

Great campground - Nice campsites, lots of shade, beach right in front of site, very clean and staff was very pleasant. Has literally thousands of blueberry and huckleberry bushes in full fruiting season in the first week of July! You could have 200 people picking and you wouldn’t leave without a ton berries. The nice lady at the snack bar makes the best empanadas I’ve ever had! We asked her if she would make a dozen for us to take on your way out and was happy to oblige us.
