Endeavor Point Introduce
Endeavor Point stands as a premier waterfront destination in the historic village of Benedict, Maryland. Perfectly situated along the expansive banks of the Patuxent River, this multifaceted location serves as more than just a standard campground. It is a vibrant recreation center and a cherished tourist attraction that combines natural beauty with deep-rooted American history. As a women-owned business, Endeavor Point is recognized for its warm, attentive hospitality and its commitment to providing an inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly environment for all visitors. Whether you are looking for a quiet weekend in nature or a breathtaking backdrop for a major life event, this property offers a serene retreat from the bustling energy of the Washington D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas.
The property is uniquely positioned on a peninsula, allowing guests to witness both stunning sunrises and sunsets over the water. This geographic advantage, combined with its status as a historical landmark on the Civil War Trails, makes it a destination of choice for both outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs. The grounds at Endeavor Point are meticulously maintained to support a variety of uses, from primitive riverside camping to high-end wedding celebrations. Its charm lies in its "diamond in the rough" quality—a place where the simplicity of nature meets the convenience of modern amenities, providing a peaceful atmosphere where the only sounds are the rhythmic movement of the river and the calls of local ospreys and eagles.
Location and accessibility are among the key highlights for visitors traveling through the Southern Maryland region. Endeavor Point is located at 7890 Mill Creek Rd, Benedict, MD 20612, at the terminus of Mill Creek Road. This location is approximately a one-hour drive from Washington D.C. and about 70 minutes from Baltimore, making it an ideal spot for a quick weekend getaway. For those arriving by land, the facility provides ample on-site parking, including a free parking lot that accommodates both standard vehicles and those visiting for day-use activities. The entrance and parking areas are designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible paths to ensure that all guests can enjoy the waterfront views.
For maritime travelers, Endeavor Point is also accessible by water. Its location overlooking the Golden Beach and St. Mary’s County shoreline makes it a popular stop for boaters navigating the Patuxent River. The property features a significant 400-foot fishing pier that reaches deep into the river, as well as a smaller pier on the old marina side, providing multiple points of access for those arriving by boat or looking to engage in shoreline activities. The proximity to local shops and restaurants in nearby Prince Frederick and Charlotte Hall ensures that while you feel secluded, you are never far from essential supplies and Maryland’s famous seafood dining.

What is worth choosing about Endeavor Point is the sheer variety of experiences packed into one breathtaking location. Unlike traditional campgrounds that may only offer a place to sleep, Endeavor Point offers a full lifestyle experience on the Patuxent River. It is worth choosing for those who want to combine physical activity—like kayaking and paddleboarding—with deep relaxation on a private beach. The ability to rent a fully-equipped cottage like "Libra’s Lookout" provides an accessible entry point for those who may not be ready for traditional tent camping but still crave a connection with nature.
Furthermore, the venue is worth choosing for its historical integrity and its role as a community pillar in Benedict. By choosing this women-owned business, you are supporting a local establishment that prioritizes the preservation of Maryland’s coastal heritage. Whether you are hosting a quinceanera, a corporate retreat, or just spending a quiet Tuesday fishing off the pier, the attentive service and "throwback in time" atmosphere of Benedict make Endeavor Point a standout destination in Charles County. It remains one of the few places in the region where you can walk in the footsteps of history by day and fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the river by night.

Customer Reviews
This place is a bit of an odd duck. It’s on a beautiful location, so that part was excellent. The owner operator was also very kind and attentive so I really appreciated that. The odd parts I’ll mention are: It was hard to understand how much your campsite costs. There is only one shower and it is pretty much impossible to use. There is one flush toilet in the same hut as the shower. There are 3 portable toilets. The campsites are way too close together which probably only matters if you’re visiting at a busy time. Lastly the campground got completely taken over by day-use folks and was trying to support many more folks than it could comfortably accommodate. If I went back it would have to be in the middle of the week in an off season so that we could really thoroughly enjoy this spot.
We visited a few weeks ago. We were in the area angain and our kids wanted a beach area to swim. I reached out to the owner, she was very accommodating and even slip our boat and enjoy the day. The views are breathtaking. I encourage anyone who visits to explore the ground, you can find secluded areas to enjoy.
The site has beautiful views and a small, private, calm beach, which was very enjoyable. However, the camp sites are VERY small. We had a 6 person tent and trying to give the next site space (we were 2' from their picnic table) meant we were 8" from our fire pit, leaving it unusable. You park your car on your site as well, so between that and the low-hanging trees there are minimal configuration options (and many of the sites wouldn't even have accommodated the tent). Would be a great spot if they weren't trying to cram 2x the sites that the area can really accommodate. While you can rent/buy everything the web site lists, I'm not sure when the sales booth is actually open. At the price point ($65/night), I expected better and it felt like a bait and switch from what's marketed on the web site.
Nestled in a quiet town, this campground offers a peaceful retreat. It’s the best non-touristy campground I’ve ever been to! The pier is fantastic, especially for cat fishing. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful with any needs we had when we were there.
This is a great campsite for tent camping. Fir rings, friendly staff, kayaking (to include rentals). Fun and close to Calvert Cliffs Syate Park. Highky recommend!
