What is Worth Choosing

Hartman Center Campground and Retreat is worth choosing for those who refuse to compromise on quality. While many traditional campgrounds offer basic amenities, Hartman Center elevates the experience with its "luxury cabin rental" category. These cabins are not just places to sleep; they are beautifully appointed homes with modern decor, plush linens, and all the tools needed for a gourmet meal. For families who are "new to camping" or groups who want the forest view without the tent, these cabins provide a seamless transition into the outdoors. The "clean, clean, clean" standard frequently cited by guests is a rare find in the camping world and makes this an easy choice for those with high expectations.

Furthermore, the facility is an exceptional choice for group events. The ability to rent a lodge that sleeps nearly 50 people, combined with a dining hall and a charming chapel, makes it a "one-stop shop" for weddings and retreats in Central Pennsylvania. Choosing the Hartman Center also means choosing a rich local experience; its location in the Kishacoquillas Valley puts you in the heart of Amish Country, where you can explore local markets and heritage sites during the day. Whether you are sitting in the hot tub under the stars or challenging your family to a game of pickleball, the Hartman Center provides a sophisticated yet accessible way to enjoy everything that our beautiful state has to offer.

Would you like me to find out more about their specific wedding packages or perhaps help you plan a local itinerary for a family reunion at the lodge?

I stayed here with my daughters over Penn State Parent & Family weekend. It was the perfect spot just a little bit away from campus to relax and reconnect. The modern cabins are beautiful and well equipped with anything you need to cook your meals. Clean, plenty of linens, comfortable beds, and very quiet with a view of the forest. We had a great time and slept really well here. I would definitely stay here again!

Modern, quiet, Clean! Clean! Clean! The cabins are well appointed and comfortable, and everything is well maintained. The campsites are also well maintained, and everything at the the full hookup sites works flawlessly. The grounds and facilities are immaculate. And the staff is friendly and responsive to questions. We can't wait to go back.

My tweens and I stayed in a tiny home for two nights. The home was clean, well stocked, and beautiful. We were sent check in information including a door code so we were able to just arrive and settle in. The tiny home had a king size bed, a pull out double sofa, a small kitchenette, and full bathroom with walk in shower. Our stay was a bit cold for August however the kids did jump into the cold pool and play on the outdoor equipment (pickle ball and basketball). The grounds were well maintained and the lady in the camp store was very friendly. The firewood and fire starter are available even when the store is closed making it very convenient for guests. We had a personal hot tub which was also very clean and well maintained. The kids and I will definitely be planning another visit.

We stayed in the lodge for a weekend. We had plenty of room for our family of 21. Kitchen is stocked with essentials. We loved the addition of a second refrigerator! The only drawback back was the oven didn’t seem to heat up to the desired temperature. We just cooked everything a bit longer and it all worked out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hartman center. The staff is very helpful and quick to reapond when you have a problem (which was a problem with our surge protector). The location is perfect with a lot of activities to participate in. We enjoyed a distillery, brewery and winery in the area. We also found some great hiking trails. This weekend was the white out game at Penn State so there were a lot of football fans at the center. The center provided a shuttle to the game making everything so convenient. I highly recommend this campground.
