Holly Tree Camper Park Introduce
For Rhode Island residents and coastal travelers looking for a dedicated summer retreat, Holly Tree Camper Park offers a tranquil and community-focused environment in the village of Ashaway. Managed by the Patrizzo family for over 30 years, this park has established itself as a staple of the South County camping scene. Unlike larger, more commercialized resorts, Holly Tree maintains a "home away from home" atmosphere where neighbors often become lifelong friends. The park is primarily designed for seasonal stays, operating from May 1st through October 1st, allowing families to establish a semi-permanent base for their summer adventures in the Ocean State.
The park is widely recognized by locals as a "hidden gem" due to its ability to provide a quiet, wooded escape while remaining exceptionally close to Rhode Island's premier tourist destinations. The grounds are meticulously maintained, featuring 158 wooded sites that offer a sense of privacy and immersion in nature. Whether you are looking to relax under the canopy of mature trees or use the park as a central hub for exploring nearby coastal towns, Holly Tree provides a balanced experience that caters to retirees, families, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The respectful culture among campers and the emphasis on a peaceful environment make it a top choice for those who find the hustle of the larger beach-adjacent parks a bit too overwhelming.
Location and accessibility are two of the strongest selling points for Holly Tree Camper Park. Situated at 109 Ashaway Rd, Ashaway, RI 02804, the park is located in the town of Hopkinton, just a few minutes away from the Connecticut border. For those traveling from within Rhode Island, the park is easily accessible via I-95, located only about 36 minutes from Providence and a little over an hour from Worcester, Massachusetts. This strategic position allows residents to enjoy the lower costs of an inland campground while being only six miles away from the beautiful South County beaches and seaside dining in Westerly and Watch Hill.
The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances and a designated wheelchair-accessible parking lot to ensure all guests can navigate the common areas with ease. On-site parking is plentiful, accommodating both primary RVs and guest vehicles. The park’s layout consists of relatively flat terrain with a mix of shaded wooded lots and more open communal spaces. Its proximity to Route 3 and the I-95 corridor means that grocery stores, pharmacies, and local hardware shops in downtown Westerly are just a short drive away, providing the convenience that long-term seasonal campers require for daily living.

What is worth choosing when it comes to Holly Tree Camper Park is the exceptional value and serenity it offers compared to neighboring facilities. For many Rhode Island locals, the cost of beachside living can be prohibitive; Holly Tree provides a much more affordable entry point into the South County summer lifestyle without sacrificing quality. Choosing this park means choosing a community where "friends are like family," and where the management is personally invested in your experience. It is worth choosing for those who prioritize a quiet night's sleep and a clean, respectful neighborhood over the "party atmosphere" found in more transient-heavy campgrounds.
Furthermore, the park is worth choosing for its unbeatable central location. From your campsite, you are just ten minutes away from the historic downtown of Westerly and a short hop over the bridge to the attractions of Mystic, Connecticut. You can enjoy a day of high-stakes entertainment at the casinos or a quiet afternoon of fishing on the Wood River, all while knowing your peaceful retreat in Ashaway is waiting for you at the end of the day. For those who want the perfect balance of Rhode Island’s coastal excitement and woodland peace, Holly Tree Camper Park is the premier seasonal destination.

A hidden gem in Rhode Island. Close to everything from beaches to shopping. There are two more RV parks in the area, both more expensive and far less appealing. Grounds are kept clean, and campers are respectful of each other. Our favorite summer getaway!
It's quiet, especially during the week. And the people here are very nice. Lastly, it's conveniently located to the beaches and other places as well.
