What makes Indian Rock RV Park & Campground worth choosing is the authentic, family-centric experience that only a long-standing local business can provide. In an era where many campgrounds are becoming corporate-owned, the personal touch from staff members like Anita and Deb creates a sense of belonging. The park is worth choosing for its balance of tranquility and activity; it is one of the few places where you can spend the morning in a "quiet, comfortable wooded area" and the afternoon at one of the world's largest theme parks.
Furthermore, the value of the park’s seasonal program is unmatched for New Jersey residents looking for a stable summer retreat. The ability to pick a favorite site and return to a community of familiar faces is a key reason for the park's high rate of return visitors. Between the massive pool, the family-oriented events, and the serene environment, Indian Rock provides a high-quality camping experience that captures the best of the Jersey Shore region. For anyone searching for a reliable, safe, and relaxing RV park in the heart of the Garden State, Indian Rock remains a premier choice.

Sites are well-maintained, quiet, relaxing wooded area with easy pull in spots. Swimming pool area looks well-maintained. Bathhouses are clean and maintained could use renovation. Early check in fee is expensive and should be noted on website and when confirming . Made call to confirm reservation asked about early arrival was told yes no problem, but no mention of fee.
Me, my husband and my daughter started coming here a few years ago just staying for long weekends. But then we fell in love with this campground so much that we decided it had to be our seasonal campground. We were able to pick our favorite site that isn’t typically a seasonal site and the rest is history. We’re in our second year of being seasonal and we absolutely love it. It’s such a clean and quiet place, and the staff are all wonderful. Anita, Andrew, Deb, Kelsey, Ashley- they’re all the best! The pool is absolutely HUGE too! Every weekend they have stuff going on for the kids each night. It’s really a great campground that’s very family oriented. If you’re looking for somewhere that’s quiet with RELAXING vibes this is the place!!
We had our maiden voyage this weekend and decided to go to Indian Rock after visiting 3 rv resorts in our area. We wanted to stay local in case of any hiccups! Clearly we made the right choice. The facility was clean. The staff is AMAZING and our neighbors were so friendly and accommodating ❤️we loved it so much that it will be a definite weekend getaway each year !
I don’t ever post reviews but this seemed necessary lol. So this past weekend me and a couple friends brought my converted school bus which is very clean and not an eyesore at all. When I was booking they asked on the phone what class rv it was, i said I'm not 100% sure, it’s a 38ft bus, and the lady said “Okay so that’s a class A” which i didn’t disagree because Im not familiar with classes. But anyways the morning I checked in, the guy wasn’t happy about us being there, which i even apologized about. So right off the bat I didn’t feel welcomed. And fast forward to the second night we were there we had about 6 visitors hanging out playing cards. (Which we weren’t being too loud at all, I even apologized to the surrounding campers just in case and they didn’t hear a thing they told me) Around midnight came along and my friends were heading out and as they were leaving, a person doing security, which i’m not sure what their pronouns are, named Ashley came and threatened to call the cops on us. They were parked in a big parking lot and not on the site at all. So they gladly left. But that wasn’t the end of it. Ashley then came up to our bus very aggressively and yelled at us to move the 2 other cars that we had parked in the parking lot which the owners of those cars were actually staying in the bus that night! Just because they didn’t have the parking pass in the window. Which when i previously talked to a lady on the phone about parking passes she said if we had any more additional cars at the campground then we can park them in the parking lot and pay for them at the end of the weekend. When I tried to explain that to Ashley they did not care at all and said move them or they will call the cops. I kept trying to calmly explain that I was told it was okay and then my friends had no where to park since they were staying the night! And Ashley was not being reasonable or respectful at all and just continued to threaten to call the cops. We stayed about 10ft away from Ashley the entire time and for some reason as we were talking they screamed “Get out of my face! I’ll knock you out!!” to my one friend. At this point we knew that this person is probably mentally ill there was no point in talking and trying to reason. Even if we were in the wrong that’s not how you handle the situation with a paying customer. So my 2 friends took their cars and parked them a mile down the street in a random parking lot and I came to pick them up so we can all go to sleep. We didn't get to bed until around 2am because of that person. Unfortunately we still had one more night there after that, which I wasn’t looking forward to since I didn’t want to spend another night there with the “security guard” patrolling while we slept. We felt pretty uneasy. Thankfully we didn’t encounter Ashley again face to face the next night but we did see them creepily staring at us from the bathroom at around midnight. We had the lights off so they couldn’t see us inside but after that they drove by in it’s golf cart and gave us the middle finger not knowing we were watching lol. Also that night my friend and I both stepped in dog crap and tracked it in the bus, we were not happy and were confused about where it came from. The next morning we found the dog poop right in front of our bus!! And we were all wondering who would have their dog poop there and not clean it up. And then we remembered seeing Ashley patrolling with a dog the night before, which it all made sense now. We couldn’t wait to leave that morning lol. The campsite itself was fine, didn’t spend much time there but it looked nice. It’s close to the beach which was also good. And also the maintenance guy Brian that worked there was a very nice he’s a good guy. But I will never be returning because of the bad experience we had. But as long as you hide in your camper past midnight and don’t have any visitors you’ll be fine.
Beautiful place. Super peaceful! A campground with plenty of trees. The girl who got me set up at the desk, you could not have a better person doing. She explained everything, she actually explained what is in the area, restaurants that deliver. She did an excellent job. Great place.
