Jugtown Mountain Campsites Introduce

For outdoor enthusiasts and families across the Garden State, Jugtown Mountain Campsites stands as a premier destination for reconnecting with nature without sacrificing accessibility. Spanning approximately 100 acres of lush, wooded terrain atop the scenic Jugtown Mountain in Asbury, New Jersey, this campground offers a true retreat from the hustle and bustle of suburban life. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a long-term seasonal stay, the park provides a well-maintained environment characterized by rolling hills, mature trees, and a friendly, community-oriented atmosphere. It is a place where the air feels crisper and the stars shine a bit brighter, all while being conveniently located within an hour's drive of major metropolitan hubs like New York City.

The campground is a favorite among local residents who appreciate a "home away from home" experience. With its unique blend of rustic charm and modern conveniences, Jugtown Mountain Campsites caters to a wide variety of campers, from traditional tent enthusiasts to big-rig RV travelers. The park’s commitment to providing a welcoming space is reflected in its year-round operation, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of the New Jersey landscape through all four seasons—from the vibrant greens of spring and the cool poolside summer afternoons to the stunning autumn foliage and peaceful winter snowfalls. Under the dedicated care of Kathy and her team, the community continues to grow, fostering long-standing traditions for families who return year after year for holidays and special celebrations.

Jugtown Mountain Campsites is strategically located at 1074 NJ-173, Asbury, NJ 08802, USA. One of its most significant advantages for travelers is its exceptional accessibility via Interstate 78. For those traveling westbound, the park is just 1.5 miles from Exit 11, while eastbound travelers can reach it in about 3 miles from Exit 7. This "on-and-off" convenience makes it an ideal stop for those passing through the region, as well as a stress-free destination for local Jersey campers who want to spend more time at their site and less time navigating difficult backroads. Despite its proximity to the highway, the elevation and dense forest canopy provide a natural buffer that preserves a quiet and secluded feel throughout the grounds.

The surrounding Hunterdon County area is rich with local history and recreational opportunities. Guests are only a short drive away from iconic New Jersey landmarks such as the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton and the Spruce Run Recreation Area. For those seeking a bit of adventure beyond the campsite, the nearby Delaware River offers world-class fishing and boating, while the Merrill Creek Reservoir provides excellent hiking and bird-watching opportunities. Whether you are looking for local dining in historic Bethlehem Township or a day trip to the Sands Casino in nearby Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the campground serves as a perfect central hub for exploration.

Wonderful layed back campground with excellent, friendly, accommodating staff!Beautiful wooded scenery, with excellent winter camping as well. It has become our home away from home every other weekend. We love it so much that we spent our 2025 Christmas here with our 2 Bernese Mtn dogs and family.

I booked the site and then got worried when I read some of the negative reviews. Most of these were a year or older, and I found them to be wrong. When we got there, I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We were able to pick from a couple of sites, and were quite pleased. We were only staying for one night, but would have enjoyed a longer stay. The campground was clean, well maintained, and landscaped. I would definitely stay here again.

Just off the interstate Hwy, slightly rural but great for a short stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We'll be back. Dog friendly was a bonus as well.
