Kingston Cottage By The Lake Introduce

For those seeking the quintessential New Hampshire experience, Kingston Cottage By The Lake offers a serene sanctuary right on the shores of Great Pond. Known locally as Kingston Lake, this body of water is a centerpiece of the community, providing a picturesque backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The cottage serves as a home away from home, combining the rustic charm of lakeside living with the modern comforts necessary for a stress-free vacation. Whether you are a local New Hampshire resident looking for a nearby "staycation" or a visitor exploring the Rockingham County region, this property places you directly in the heart of nature without sacrificing convenience.

The atmosphere at the cottage is defined by its peacefulness and its intimate connection to the water. Imagine waking up to the sound of loons and stepping out of your back door to a yard that merges seamlessly with the lake. The property is well-maintained and highly regarded by returning guests for its cleanliness and cozy interior. As a destination that emphasizes tranquility, it is particularly suited for families and small groups who want to reconnect in a natural setting while staying close to the historical and recreational landmarks that make Kingston a unique New England town.

Located at 13 Wadleigh Point Road, Kingston, NH 03848, the cottage boasts an enviable position on a quiet peninsula that extends into Great Pond. This location ensures that while you are shielded from the noise of main roads, you remain remarkably accessible to the rest of the state. Kingston itself is a strategic hub in Southeastern New Hampshire, situated just a short drive from the bustling Seacoast region and the Massachusetts border. For residents of Manchester or Portsmouth, the cottage is an easy trip, making it a viable option for even a short weekend retreat.

Accessibility within the immediate vicinity is straightforward, with the property located just off Main Street. Visitors should note that the approach via Wadleigh Point Road leads into a residential lakeside area where the roads are narrow and reflect the quaint character of the neighborhood. While the driveway provides on-site parking, the lush New Hampshire flora—including mature bushes and trees—is part of the landscape, providing privacy but requiring a bit of mindful maneuvering for larger vehicles. Once settled, guests find that the location serves as a perfect base for exploring the town on foot or by boat.

  • Full Kitchen Facilities: The cottage is equipped with a complete kitchen, including a refrigerator, stove, oven, and microwave, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and enjoy lakeside dining at their own pace.
  • Waterfront Backyard Access: Direct access to the lake from the property for swimming, wading, and launching small watercraft right from the shore.
  • Outdoor Deck and Patio: A spacious deck overlooking Great Pond serves as the primary spot for morning coffee, evening relaxation, and taking in the panoramic water views.

  • On-site Parking: A dedicated driveway is provided for guests, ensuring that your vehicle is kept off the narrow public roads.
  • Proximity to Town Services: Easy access to Kingston’s local restaurants and shops, ensuring that supplies and dining options are never more than a few minutes away.
  • High-Speed Internet and Utilities: Modern amenities like WiFi and cable are typically available, keeping you connected even in a rural setting.
  • Private Beach and Water Access: One of the few properties in the area where the lake is literally your backyard, offering private space for family swimming away from the public crowds.
  • Stunning Great Pond Views: The cottage is positioned to offer some of the best sunset and moonrise views over the water in all of Rockingham County.
  • Quiet and Peaceful Environment: Located at the end of a residential point, the property is shielded from heavy traffic, ensuring a restful stay.
  • Proximity to Kingston State Park: Located just a short distance from the 44-acre state park, guests can easily enjoy additional swimming areas, playgrounds, and organized picnic spots.
  • Boating and Fishing: Great Pond is a local favorite for bass fishing and tranquil paddling; the property’s shoreline is ideal for those bringing kayaks or canoes.

Address: 13 Wadleigh Point Rd, Kingston, NH 03848, USA

Choosing Kingston Cottage By The Lake is worth it primarily for the unparalleled access to Great Pond. In a region where waterfront property is highly coveted, this cottage offers a rare opportunity to have a private shoreline. For many local families, the decision to return year after year is driven by the "home away from home" feeling that the owners have cultivated. It isn't just a rental; it is a well-kept home where the comfort of the interior matches the beauty of the exterior. The ability to walk from your living room directly into the lake for a morning swim is a luxury that defines the perfect New Hampshire summer.

Furthermore, the location provides the best of both worlds: seclusion and activity. While you can spend all day in the peaceful "backyard" of the lake, you are also minutes away from the excitement of Kingston State Park and the town's historical center. For those who enjoy fine dining, the nearby Kingston 1686 House offers an upscale colonial dining experience, while more casual local spots provide the classic New England fare that completes a vacation. The combination of a highly relaxing environment, a "super comfortable" interior, and a wealth of local activities makes this cottage a standout choice for anyone looking to experience the true heart of New Hampshire lakeside living.

We have been visiting this cottage for years! It's a beautiful home, well kept, super comfortable, and the lake is literally in your back yard! So peaceful. There's a lot to do in the area. Great restaurants, Kingston state park, boating, swimming, the list goes on! I highly recommend this if you're looking for a great getaway with your family!

Perfect location, very relaxing! Love the lake, beautiful this time of year! Only downside is the placement of the bushes creep in on the driveway, making maneuvering difficult.
