Kittatinny Canoes - River Beach Campground Introduce

For residents of Pennsylvania looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Delaware Water Gap, Kittatinny Canoes - River Beach Campground offers an action-packed destination right on the banks of the historic Delaware River. Located in Milford, this campground is a well-known hub for outdoor enthusiasts who want to combine traditional camping with high-energy river activities. Whether you are a local seeking a weekend escape or a group of friends planning an annual river trip, River Beach provides a lively atmosphere that captures the spirit of the Poconos' adventurous side.

River Beach Campground is unique because it serves as both a residential base for campers and a full-scale outfitter for water sports. The site is designed to cater to a wide range of preferences, from primitive tent camping under the stars to comfortable cabin stays and fully equipped RV sites. As part of the reputable Kittatinny Canoes network, this location emphasizes the thrill of the river, making it one of the premier spots in the region for rafting, tubing, and kayaking. It is a place where the days are filled with splashing through rapids and the evenings are spent gathered around campfires, sharing stories of the day's journey downstream.

The location and accessibility of Kittatinny Canoes - River Beach Campground make it a convenient choice for travelers from across the Commonwealth. Situated at 378 US-6 & 209, Milford, PA 18337, the campground sits directly on a major regional artery, ensuring that guests can easily reach the site without navigating complex backroads. Its proximity to the town of Milford allows for quick trips to local shops and restaurants, providing a helpful buffer for those who might need last-minute supplies or a meal away from the grill. The site is also highly accessible for all visitors, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, dedicated parking lots, and accessible restroom facilities to ensure everyone can participate in the fun.

Being positioned so close to the highway means that the campground is a breeze to find, though visitors should be aware that the proximity to US-6 and 209 means the sounds of the road are part of the local environment. For those who prioritize ease of travel and the ability to pull in with a large RV or trailer, the wide access roads and straightforward layout are significant benefits. Once settled, the primary focus shifts from the road to the riverfront, where the true beauty of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area begins to shine.

What is worth choosing about this particular campground is its unmatched convenience for water-based recreation. If your primary goal is to spend as much time as possible on the Delaware River, there is no better home base. The ability to rent your gear, launch your boat, and return to your campsite all in one location is a massive time-saver. Kittatinny Canoes is a legendary name in Pennsylvania river recreation, and choosing their River Beach location means you are benefiting from decades of experience in river outfitting.

Additionally, River Beach is worth choosing for its social and energetic environment. It is an ideal spot for those who enjoy the "communal" aspect of camping—where the campground is bustling with activity and fellow adventurers. While the proximity to the highway and the lively nature of the site mean it isn't the quietest retreat in the Poconos, it makes up for it with sheer accessibility and the quality of its river services. Love the location of this campground as it is right on the Delaware River. Good PX and very nice staff. Good bathrooms but on busy holiday weekends people take 15 plus minutes in a public shower where there is a long line. It might be helpful to post signs advising a time limit on use of showers. Either that or install coin operated ones that shut off after 5 minutes. Would also help to manage that resource. Otherwise, had a great stay and look forward to my 3rd year next year.

Stayed here with friends for the Labor Day weekend. where to begin? First of all, the location of this campground is terrible. It’s right on the highway and all you hear 24/7 are trucks j-breaking and cars honking. Additionally, none of the campground rules are enforced. It’s one thing to play music during the day or evening, but totally unnecessary for there to be extremely loud music and karaoke playing all night. Not to mention the explosive fireworks and just general refugee camp style of tent camping going on here- literally 6 or 7 tents per some sites with almost just as many vehicles. Totally cramped and loud. The only redeeming quality of this campground was the staff, who all worked so hard to keep the bathrooms and amenities clean for guests. I wouldn’t recommend this campground unless you stay for a night or so to for water activities on the Delaware Water Gap (for the convenience). Other than that not worth it. Again, thanks to the staff for going above and beyond to keep the bathrooms clean.

If you want a quiet campground to disconnect and enjoy nature, DO NOT GO HERE. I saw the reviews about the highway noise and people playing loud music and thought that won't be a problem but it was. The campground is close to the highway so you hear loud trucks all night. There are rules about not playing music past 10pm but no one enforces it. People being loud and playing music until 2am. When I brought this up to the staff, the response was that I should have called the cops. On top of it, the water view sites are not as they advertise. You don't get the view of the river like they promised. For $130 for one very loud and exhausting night, it's not worth it.

Vivian was incredibly helpful and patient while assisting us with booking our camping trip for next month. She took the time to answer all our questions and made the whole process smooth and stress free. Her soft spoken, kind demeanor made working with her such a pleasure. Because of her, we’ll definitely continue booking our annual camping getaway. They are truly lucky to have such an amazing representative on their team!

We were checking out very early, this was a quick overnight. The water spicket wouldn't shut off after we disconnected. It was pitch black, there was no lighting. It was very hard to get out. No staff was available to assist with the water. I had to leave a voice mail and go.
