Lake Bluff Campground Introduce

For residents across the New York region, the shores of Lake Ontario offer a unique blend of coastal beauty and countryside tranquility. Lake Bluff Campground, located in the charming town of Wolcott, stands as a premier destination for those looking to immerse themselves in the natural splendor of Wayne County. This family-oriented campground is perfectly positioned for outdoor enthusiasts, sitting just one mile away from the iconic Chimney Bluffs State Park. Known for its towering spires and dramatic clay formations carved by wind and water, the nearby park provides a spectacular backdrop for a camping trip that feels both adventurous and deeply relaxing. Lake Bluff Campground itself is designed to be a "home away from home," offering a well-maintained environment where towering trees replace the high-rises of the city.

The atmosphere at Lake Bluff Campground is one of quiet community and family fun. Unlike some high-traffic RV parks that feel more like paved parking lots, Lake Bluff prides itself on its wooded landscape, providing shaded sites that offer a true forest experience. The park caters to a wide demographic, from first-time campers in brand-new travel trailers to seasoned vacationers who have been returning to these shores for decades. With a focus on cleanliness, professional management, and a friendly staff, the campground ensures that every guest—whether staying for a weekend or a month—can focus on what truly matters: making memories around the campfire and enjoying the fresh lake air.

Location and accessibility are among the top reasons New Yorkers choose Lake Bluff Campground for their summer retreats. Situated at 7150 Garner Road, the park is easily reachable for travelers navigating the northern Finger Lakes region. The management has made significant efforts to ensure the facility is inclusive, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restrooms. This attention to detail makes it a reliable choice for families with diverse mobility needs. Furthermore, the on-site parking is spacious and well-organized, allowing for easy maneuvering of larger RV units and "Big Rigs," which is often a point of stress for those traveling with substantial equipment.

  • Full-service RV camping with options for water, electric (30/50 amp), and sewer hookups.
  • Dedicated tent sites for those seeking a more traditional, back-to-basics camping experience.
  • Cozy cabin and cottage rentals that include essential amenities like a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker.
  • Modern and immaculate restroom facilities featuring hot showers and a laundry area for extended stays.
  • On-site convenience store stocked with camping essentials, snacks, and gifts.
  • Reliable communication via email and phone to assist with bookings, specific site requests, and post-stay follow-ups.
  • Flexible payment options including credit cards, debit cards, and standard camping fees.

The features and highlights of Lake Bluff Campground are designed to provide a resort-like experience within a rustic setting. One of the standout features is the heated outdoor swimming pool, which serves as a central hub for relaxation and fun during the warm New York summers. For those who enjoy a bit of sport, the park offers a basketball court, volleyball court, shuffleboard, and horseshoe pits. Children are particularly well-catered for, with a dedicated playground and a "jump pad" that provides hours of entertainment. Anglers will appreciate the nicely maintained catch-and-release fishing pond, which offers a peaceful spot for a quiet morning with a rod and reel.

  • Proximity to Chimney Bluffs State Park, allowing for easy day trips to view some of New York's most unique geological formations.
  • A heated swimming pool and a jump pad, making it a top-tier choice for families with active children.
  • Catch-and-release fishing pond on-site, perfect for teaching young ones the basics of fishing.
  • Wooded and spacious sites that offer a sense of privacy and a break from the "parking lot" style of many RV parks.
  • Recreational activities including mini-golf, hay wagon rides, and themed events throughout the season.
  • Pet-friendly policies that allow dogs, ensuring that four-legged family members can join in on the adventure.
  • On-site hiking and nature trails for those looking to explore the local flora and fauna without leaving the property.

What is worth choosing at Lake Bluff Campground is the perfect balance it strikes between modern convenience and natural serenity. For families, the sheer variety of on-site activities—from the pool and playground to the mini-golf and fishing pond—means that children are never bored. For couples or those seeking a quiet getaway, the cabin rentals offer a tranquil retreat that is "exactly what is needed" to unwind. The cabins, while rustic, are equipped with the essentials to make your stay comfortable, provided you remember to bring your own linens and towels.

Furthermore, the campground's commitment to maintenance and communication sets it apart. The fact that many guests choose to rebook the same site for a return visit just weeks later speaks volumes about the quality of the experience. Choosing Lake Bluff means choosing a place where the hookups work, the staff knows your name, and the beauty of Lake Ontario is just around the corner. Whether you are looking for a basecamp to explore the Sodus Bay Lighthouse or a secluded spot in the woods to watch the sunset, Lake Bluff Campground delivers an authentic and enjoyable New York camping experience.

This was the perfect place for our first outing in our new (to us) travel trailer. The park is well kept, all the hookups worked. Sites are spaced enough that you aren't on top of your neighbor. There are trees throughout, which makes it much nicer than some of the "parking lot" style RV parks that are out there. Oh, they also have a nice little catch and release pond for fishing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Booking is easier over the phone if you have a specific site in mind, but the call center was also helpful and friendly, making it a breeze to book our stay. The campground is also great in communicating via email before and after your stay. Our kids are grown, so they missed out on the fun stuff that the park has for kids to make it very kid-friendly. Would I stay again? Well, I just reserved the same site for a couple weeks from now :)

Love this place! We came from Buffalo to celebrate my 30th and decided to rent the cabin they have here. this place is so quiet and tranquil, exactly what I needed. The beds are cabin beds so obviously they’re not the comfiest, but we all slept well! Cabin comes with a mini fridge, toaster, coffee maker and a microwave. Bathrooms/showers , jump pad and pool are directly across from the site. It was very clean and I would definitely stay here again.

This was the worst weekend imaginable. I reserved a cabin online, and received confirmation that I had cabin number 36 for Saturday night. Upon arrival at 4:15, I found a closed office, nobody to answer the phone, and an emergency after hours number with a full mailbox. I went to inspect the cabin, and found it open, but occupied and disgustingly filthy and full of personal belongings. I paid $200 and had no place to stay for my family. The closest room I could find on such short notice was an hour away in Oswego and $300, so it ended up being a $500 night and nobody from lake bluff will return my call or refund my money. Beware.... Don't trust the new ownership of this place and don't make a reservation here without a back up plan and money to waste.

It was a cute campground with lots of cute amenities that are probably great for someone with kids but other than that, the campground, specifically the bathrooms and the cabin we stayed at was kind of run down it was sad. The cabin we stayed at had hair on the beds and bugs on the windowsill. The bathroom also had graffiti and a few of the stalls had bathroom doors that didn’t close well.I will say the frog pond and nature trail was very cute and it added some positivity during our visit.

There were definitely both pros and cons to this place. The pool was well kept and clean. The laundry room was clean and everything was in working order. There were 2 washers/2 dryers. The site I stayed in was a large pull through site which I liked.Unfortunately there were several things that did not meet our expectations. POWER. There were times when we just had none! It was hot and the power would not run the A/C. The park was nowhere near filled to capacity yet no power. Brutal! Internet service was practically nonexistent. This is so important nowadays as most campers make plans for their visit online. This was impossible. Since there was a lack of WiFi, there was no TV most of the time. When it did work, it worked for a several seconds to a minute and then buffer. This made TV unwatchable. The picnic tables at our site (although large) were rotting and full of moss. Ours had a large chunk on the seat broken off. Lastly, the men’s restroom was deplorable. There was one urinal ( out of order) and 2 stalls, one was clogged and unusable the other, although worked, had no toilet paper! The room was in need of cleaning and appeared to have been neglected for years. I could not use this facility. This place needs an upgrade!☹️
