Lee's Park Introduce

Lee's Park is a storied destination in the heart of the Capital Region, offering a unique dual-purpose experience as both a sprawling campground and a full-service marina. Situated directly on the eastern shores of Saratoga Lake, this privately-owned facility has become a legendary hub for outdoor enthusiasts, music fans, and boaters alike. For many residents of New York and the surrounding states, Lee's Park is synonymous with the vibrant summer culture of Saratoga Springs. It provides a rustic, communal atmosphere where the beauty of the lake meets the excitement of the local entertainment scene, making it a cornerstone for those looking to experience the best of Upstate New York during the warmer months.

The park is particularly famous for its lively energy during the summer concert season. Known as a preferred basecamp for fans attending shows at the nearby Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC), Lee's Park transforms into a festive village during major tour runs. Beyond the concert crowd, it remains a tranquil lakeside retreat during the weekdays and non-event weekends, catering to families and boaters who appreciate the 1,000 feet of lake frontage. Whether you are pitching a tent under the stars, parking a large RV, or launching a jet ski for a day on the water, the park offers a welcoming, "festival-style" environment that emphasizes community and the great outdoors.

Location and accessibility are among the park's most significant advantages. Located at 1466 NY-9P in Saratoga Springs, the campground is just a few miles from the historic downtown district and the world-renowned Saratoga Race Course. Its position on Route 9P provides a direct route into the heart of the city while maintaining a scenic, lakeside feel. The facility is committed to being inclusive and accessible, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, dedicated parking lot, and accessible restroom facilities. For those arriving with large vehicles, the park features wide paths and an on-site paid parking lot to accommodate the influx of visitors during peak weekends. Its proximity to Saratoga Lake means guests can transition from their campsite to a boat slip in a matter of minutes, making it one of the most conveniently located water-access properties in the region.

Lee's Park offers a robust suite of services designed to support both short-term visitors and seasonal residents. The staff is known for being friendly and accommodating, working hard to manage the high volume of guests during the busy summer months. The onsite services provided include:

  • Dedicated shuttle bus service to and from SPAC for most Live Nation concerts, allowing guests to avoid traffic and parking hassles.
  • Marina services featuring over 250 seasonal and daily dock slips for boats and jet skis.
  • RV camping options ranging from non-hookup sites to full-hookup seasonal sites.
  • Spacious tent sites located in both open lawn areas and wooded sections of the park.
  • A dedicated RV dump station and water fill-up area for self-contained travelers.
  • Propane exchange and sales of essential camping supplies like firewood and ice.
  • On-site event hosting and live music performances during special event weekends.
  • Payment flexibility with acceptance of credit cards, debit cards, and cash for various park fees.

The features and highlights of Lee's Park are centered on its natural lakeside setting and its role as a social catalyst. The park isn't just a place to sleep; it’s a place to engage with the environment and fellow travelers. Notable highlights include:

  • 1,000 feet of pristine lakefront access on Saratoga Lake, perfect for watching picturesque sunsets.
  • A full-service marina with boat and kayak rentals available for exploring the water.
  • A family-friendly environment with plenty of space for kids to play and explore safely.
  • Clean public restrooms and free hot showers equipped with running water.
  • Designated grilling areas and picnic tables at sites for classic outdoor dining.
  • An LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere that prides itself on being a safe and welcoming space for all.
  • Pet-friendly policies that welcome dogs, ensuring the whole family can join the trip.
  • A "festival-style" camping vibe during concert weekends, often featuring pre-show and post-show live bands.

For those planning a visit, especially during the busy SPAC concert season, contacting the park in advance for reservations is highly recommended, as the facility frequently reaches capacity. You can reach the park management at:

  • Address: 1466 NY-9P, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, USA

What makes Lee's Park truly worth choosing is the unparalleled convenience it offers for concert-goers and lake lovers. The legendary shuttle service is often cited by guests as the primary reason for their stay; it transforms a potentially stressful night of navigating Saratoga traffic into a "carefree party" that is safe and organized. The ability to leave your car at your campsite and be transported directly to the gates of SPAC is a luxury that few other area campgrounds can match. Furthermore, the "free-for-all" spirit of the concert camping areas creates an unforgettable communal experience where fans of bands like Phish and the Dead can carry on the legacy of their favorite musical communities.

Beyond the music, Lee's Park is a premier choice for those who want a "best of both worlds" vacation. You are close enough to the high-end boutiques and fine dining of Broadway in Saratoga Springs to enjoy a night on the town, yet you can wake up to the quiet sounds of Fish Creek and Saratoga Lake. The park’s commitment to providing real bathrooms, hot showers, and a safe, secure environment—monitored by friendly security staff—ensures that even the most "hardcore" concert weekend remains comfortable. Whether you are a "Deadhead" looking for your tribe or a family looking for an affordable lakeside getaway, Lee's Park provides an authentic, high-energy New York camping experience that keeps visitors coming back year after year.

I’ve been to quite a few shows and stayed at Lee’s. The Dead show weekends are absolutely insane. It’s a free for all with tents and campers set up in every available patch of Earth. Cars strewn everywhere. Good luck getting back in your parking spot if you have to leave. The people who stay there for the Dead shows are those who embody the Dead and those who carry on the wonderfully weird legacy that is being a Deadhead. I love the shuttle service that Lee’s provides to and from SPAC because that seriously is what makes this place. I have never used the bathrooms here but I hear they can be pretty rough, but I usually leave really early in the morning after the show. Most of the time it’s before the majority of people rise in the morning. I just like to beat the traffic. Thank you Lee’s!

Lee's Park Staff was absolutely awesome to work with, whenever I needed more firewood or help with anything with my campsite they were super accommodating and friendly. Saratoga has so much to offer with the natural water springs, mountain views or historic monuments that founded the United States as we know it today. The center of Saratoga where all the shops, bars and restaurants are located are thriving and filled with tons of activities for all age groups from bright in early to late night entertainment, and the best part it's only 10 minutes from Lee's Park. Hanaford's grocery store is the perfect spot to stop and get groceries for food and refreshments around your campsite, and it's only 4 miles away as well.Hands down one of my favorite places now to go camping, sun bathe- I mean burn, relax by the fire and just enjoy the beautiful picturesque sunsets. I will definitely be visiting again for the 4th of July! Cheers Y'all!

Went to SPAC to see Farm Aid and stayed the weekend at Lee's. Had a nice experience there. I was by myself and tent camping was $30/night and the shuttle service for the show was $20. The staff was really nice and helpful, there was plenty of room to set up my site, and the bathrooms and showers were fine. When I come back to SPAC for a show I'll gladly stay at Lee's again

2nd year spent at Lees. Plan on going back again next year. Me and friends tent here for DMB concert. This is a festival type campground. There is no playgrounds or much to do for children. There is swimming of the boat launch in the lake. If you don’t mind the dirt and the wet lake weeds it’s a blast. Very friendly atmosphere. All the campers mingle and party with each other. 6 showers for entire campground which is fairly large, they do their best for cleanliness which isn’t horrible. There is porta-potties that are cleaned frequently and also a “toilet house with several stalls. The park is clean! No trash around. They staff is AMAZING. Just one time at 3 am out of the combined 8 nights we have spent there we got told to quiet down at 3 am. (😬). You can order wood to the campsite. Bonus! There are also vendors on site. There are water stations throughout the park for renters and a gas station at the entrance. Bjs, target, Walmart are 10 min driving distance. The shuttles to the concert are great and fun. They use school buses 😁 FYI.. No chairs are allowed to be brought into SPAC anymore. If your looking for a fun, inexpensive place to have a great time with fellow campers I highly recommend Lees! I wouldn’t bring young children, again, only because there is no playground or swimming pools. But it is an awesome place that we have our annual girls trip every year!
