Letchworth Valley Campground & Resort, LLC Introduce

Letchworth Valley Campground & Resort, LLC (LVCR) is a premier outdoor destination located in the heart of Wyoming County, New York. Spanning an impressive 147 acres of pristine natural beauty, the resort offers a tranquil escape for those looking to reconnect with the landscape of Western New York. Originally known as the Covenant Acres Campground, the property underwent a massive 1.2-million-dollar redevelopment after being acquired in 2022 by Marimax Properties. Today, it stands as a modern yet rustic retreat, strategically positioned just minutes away from the world-famous Letchworth State Park. For New York residents, it serves as a spacious and welcoming alternative to the often-crowded state park facilities, blending the serenity of a private lake with the professional management of a high-end resort.

The atmosphere at Letchworth Valley is defined by its diverse geography. The park features a private 26-acre lake known as Wiscoy Lake and is bordered by Wiscoy Creek, a waterway celebrated across the region for its exceptional trout fishing. The layout of the campground is designed to provide privacy and immersion in nature, with many sites tucked into wooded sections or offering sweeping views of the water. Whether you are a local traveler from Buffalo or Rochester—both of which are just over an hour away—or a long-haul traveler exploring the Finger Lakes region, the resort offers a friendly, professional environment that prioritizes guest comfort. The management is frequently noted for their proactive communication, often checking in via text or phone to ensure guests are settled and well-supplied with essentials like firewood.

Location and accessibility are major advantages for visitors choosing this resort. Situated at 7037 Albro Road in Pike, NY 14024, the campground is easily accessible via New York State Route 19A or Route 39. Its location in the town of Pike places it approximately 7 miles from the Portageville entrance of Letchworth State Park, allowing for easy day trips to view the "Grand Canyon of the East." The resort itself is designed to accommodate various mobility needs, including wheelchair-accessible restroom facilities and a newly renovated bathhouse at Wiscoy Village. For those traveling with large RVs, the site features wide internal roads, though travelers are encouraged to check site lengths as the picturesque, wooded terrain can occasionally be tight for the largest of rigs. On-site parking is plentiful, and the resort’s gated entry provides a safe, secure environment for families and solo travelers alike.

The services offered at Letchworth Valley Campground & Resort are designed to be comprehensive, ensuring that every guest—from primitive tent campers to luxury RV owners—has a seamless experience. The resort has invested heavily in modern infrastructure, including the addition of 50 new full-hookup sites to meet the growing demand for high-utility camping. On-site services are managed with a "personal touch," where staff are known to go out of their way to assist guests during inclement weather or mechanical issues.

  • Full-service RV camping with options for 20, 30, and 50-amp electric hookups.
  • Dedicated RV water and sewer hookups for a hassle-free stay.
  • Diverse lodging options including primitive tent sites, wilderness camping, and dry "boondocking" sites.
  • Luxury chalet and cabin rentals featuring heat, air conditioning, and kitchenettes.
  • Newly renovated bathhouse facilities with private showers and on-site laundry.
  • On-site registration and visitor center at Wiscoy Lodge for check-ins and area information.
  • Firewood and ice sales with delivery options directly to your campsite.
  • Secure payment processing accepting all major credit cards, debit cards, and camping fees.

The features and highlights of LVCR make it a standout for family recreation and outdoor sports. The 26-acre Wiscoy Lake is the center of the resort’s social life, providing a clean and safe environment for swimming, boating, and catch-and-release fishing. One of the most popular summer attractions is the 65-foot water slide that launches guests directly into the refreshing waters of the lake. For those who prefer land-based activities, the resort offers a "sprawling field" for sports and a series of hiking trails that allow for peaceful walks through the surrounding forest. The community is also explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly, fostering an inclusive environment where all travelers feel welcome.

  • Wiscoy Lake (26 acres) for swimming, canoeing, and kayaking.
  • A thrilling 65-foot lake slide that is a favorite for children and adventurous adults.
  • World-class trout fishing along the meandering Wiscoy Creek.
  • Boat rentals including canoes, paddle boats, and kayaks.
  • Comprehensive sports facilities including basketball, volleyball, bocce, and tetherball.
  • A central playground area for children located near the main lake pavilion.
  • Dedicated areas for family picnics and grilling, with picnic tables provided at sites.
  • Dog-friendly policies that allow you to bring your furry family members along.
  • Proximity to an old Erie Railroad bed, now repurposed for access to the scenic landscape.

For individuals or groups looking to book a stay, the resort staff is highly responsive and provides a variety of contact methods for convenience. What is worth choosing about Letchworth Valley Campground & Resort is the unique balance it strikes between being a high-end "resort" and a genuine "wilderness" experience. While many private campgrounds crowd sites together to maximize space, LVCR prioritizes the "wooded and private" feel that many New York residents seek when escaping the city. It is worth choosing specifically for its water features; having both a private lake for swimming and a premier trout stream on the same property is a rarity in Western New York. The 65-foot slide and the pond-side RV sites make it an exceptional choice for families with grandchildren, as it offers a level of active fun that keeps younger generations engaged without the commercialized feel of larger national chains.

Furthermore, the resort’s commitment to service is a deciding factor for many. The stories of owners checking on guests during power outages or helping travelers who have slid off the road in the rain speak to a level of care that is increasingly hard to find. By choosing LVCR, you are supporting a local business that has invested millions into preserving and improving a piece of New York’s natural heritage. Whether you are coming for the world-class hiking, the thrill of the lake slide, or the simple peace of a fire overlooking the pond, Letchworth Valley provides a high-quality, inclusive, and memorable outdoor experience that represents the best of New York camping.

We were very pleased with our stay at this campground. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and our site overlooked a serene pond that made for a relaxing backdrop. The only minor issue was that the site pad could have been a bit longer—our camper didn’t quite fit entirely on it.Still, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We’d love to return in the summer with our grandkids and try out the slide—it looks like so much fun!The playground could use some additional equipment but is okay.

This is one of the best parts we’ve stayed in on our 16 Day Rd. trip from Texas. We are traveling to see the leaves change in the fall and meeting our kids from Maryland at this beautiful park. It rates high above all the other parks and we love staying at state parks. The spots are beautifully wooded and private, and we met some wonderful Christian people while we were traveling through, that helped us get free as we slid off the road in one of the rain storms. The owners are amazing. They called and checked to make sure we got in OK, the next day they called and check to see if our electricity went out because there was a couple of power outages and then the last day the third day they Sent out a text to see if we needed wood. They were very kind and go out of the way to assist you. I rate it at 10!!!

For a campground they should tell you a truck is required taking a car there is very risky due to the hill it’s on and poor condition of trails to get to tent sites. The tent sites are also on a hill which results in very crooked tents I know it’s the outdoors but could help to flatten it out a tad especially for how much you charge per site. Then they also tell you if you get stuck you have to get your own towing which would be understandable if they maintained the trails better. They also try and show the site right on the water which is a lie it’s a bit away from the water and not maintained enough to get to the water in the first place the weeds are waist level and I’m 6’0. They also charge you $10.00 per wood “bundle” which are very small pieces of wood and also wet. The bathrooms on the other hand are not maintained very well pretty dirty and can’t seem to even keep the toilet paper stocked honestly place doesn't even deserve to have the word letchworth in the name of it.

I will definitely be coming back! First, it was easy to book online, which is always a huge plus.I booked a lakeside tent spot but when we realized how rainy it was going to be, it was easy to call and upgrade to a cabin over the phone. They sell firewood there and deliver it to your campsite, which I’ve never seen before!Bathroom houses are simple campground bathrooms but they’re nice, clean, the showers work great and the water gets really warm, which is nice on a chilly morning. The grounds are beautiful and most importantly, all of the staff was really friendly.I wasn’t there with kids but could tell it’s a great place for the whole family, they have activities to join, etc.

I booked site 21 but was uninformed that the site was on a downhill slope, I have back problems & this made it beyond uncomfortable for atleast a decent night's rest. Tripping hazards all over the site ( small stubs of cut down trees) I ordered 3 bundles of wood which included a 4th for free. I received 1 actual wrapped up BUNDLE, the other wood was just thrown in the back of a gator, carelessly to deliver to us. Sadly it was also wet & didn't burn well at all. I also believe it was less than 4bundles worth, but me & my friend still carried the majority of it from the gator. I almost asked for a refund immediately because of how awful this site was. 10/10 would not recommend
