Liberty Harbor RV Park Introduce

For New Jersey residents and travelers alike, the concept of a "campground" often evokes images of the Pine Barrens or the Appalachian Trail. However, Liberty Harbor RV Park offers a completely different, world-class experience: urban camping. Situated directly on the Jersey City waterfront, this unique destination provides a front-row seat to the most iconic skyline in the world. For locals looking for a "staycation" with a twist, or for those transitioning through the Garden State, Liberty Harbor serves as a sophisticated basecamp that balances the convenience of home with the excitement of the city.

What makes Liberty Harbor RV Park truly remarkable is its ability to provide a safe, managed environment in the heart of a bustling metropolis. It isn't just a place to park; it is a gateway to the cultural and culinary heart of North Jersey. From your site, you can look across the water to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, reminding you of the rich history that defines our region. Whether you are a seasoned RVer or a local enthusiast testing out a new rig, the park offers a professional and friendly atmosphere that caters specifically to the needs of the modern traveler.

Location and accessibility are the defining features of this park. Located at 11 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City, it sits at the intersection of urban convenience and scenic beauty. For New Jersey drivers, the park is easily accessible from the New Jersey Turnpike (I-78), avoiding many of the more difficult city streets. Once you arrive, you are positioned perfectly to explore. The park is just a short walk to the PATH train at Grove Street, providing 24/7 access to Manhattan. Additionally, the NY Waterway Ferry departs directly from the adjacent marina, offering a scenic 15-minute commute to Wall Street. For those who prefer to stay local, the vibrant shops and restaurants of downtown Jersey City are right at your doorstep.

Accessibility at Liberty Harbor is top-notch, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a paved, wheelchair-accessible parking lot. The park is designed to accommodate a variety of rig sizes, including big rigs up to 45 feet in length. For those coming from the south or west, the route into Jersey City is straightforward, making it one of the most accessible urban parks on the East Coast. The proximity to Liberty State Park also means miles of paved walking and biking paths are just a quick pedal away, offering local users a chance to enjoy the outdoors without leaving the city limits.

The services offered at Liberty Harbor RV Park are tailored to the urban camper who values both functionality and security. The park is open year-round, which is a significant advantage for New Jersey residents who need a reliable spot during the winter months. The onsite services ensure that your "home on the road" remains fully operational while you explore the surrounding attractions.

  • RV camping sites with dedicated electric hookups (30 and 50 amp available) to power your appliances and climate control.
  • Reliable water hookups at each site to keep your fresh water tanks full and your systems running.
  • On-site dump station for convenient waste management before you head back out on the road.
  • 24-hour security and an on-site manager to ensure a safe and quiet environment for all guests.
  • Clean and locked restroom facilities featuring warm, high-pressure showers for a refreshing start to your day.
  • On-site laundry room equipped with modern machines, perfect for longer stays or cross-country trips.

The features and highlights of this park extend beyond the basic amenities. It is the atmosphere and the views that truly set Liberty Harbor apart. Staying here is as much about the experience of the location as it is about the convenience of the site. It is a rare opportunity to enjoy a "backyard" that includes the most famous landmarks in the United States.

  • Breathtaking views of the New York City skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the Liberty Science Center right from your campsite.
  • Direct proximity to the Liberty Harbor Marina, offering a nautical atmosphere and access to waterfront dining at the on-site restaurant and bar.

I was worried based on the photos I saw but this was a great stay. Shower was WARM, locked, and clean. Laundry available and clean. Service exceptional. So helpful with information. The only complaint was the smoker next door coughing so much at 1030pm! I also used a blackout curtain bc of city lights. What a fun stop.

Perfect spot for exploring NYC! It was so great being able to stay in our home on the road while being a few steps from this amazing city. Our electric and water hookups were great & we felt safe the entire time, even at night. The short walk to the PATH station made it super easy to access any part of the city. We will absolutely be back if ever in the area!

This was in a great location to see the Statue of Liberty. I was there with just my girls and it seemed decently safe too. They had a gate and security. We were able to walk over to Liberty Park from the campground and then got on a ferry to go to the island. I didn’t get to experience it but it sounded like there might have been night life either on the pier or a block away, so that would be fun for someone without kids. The only drawback is not having sewer in sites, but I knew that going in. They do have a dump station.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!! THIS IS THE WORST PARK I'VE EVER BOOKED! I booked this park in June, 2024 for September 28, 2025. The original price that I was quoted was $40 a night. I questioned that at the time, and they told me we were getting a seasonal discount. The day before we showed up, we got a confirmation invoice saying we owed $63.97. When I showed up, they told me my balance was over $500!!! (Over 4 times what we were quoted). I told her that the previous day I had received that email, and showed it to them, and the girl told me that somebody was supposed to call me and tell me that their prices went up. I never received a call nor an email. I asked to speak with the manager, which I did over the phone, and he basically said well sorry, this is the way it is. He told me there was a "glitch" in their system that gave me the $40 rate, and that they have had this problem before. Then my husband went in and asked to speak with the owner. The owner basically said the same thing, but when my husband pushed, he offered us a discounted rate (3 times what we were originally quoted). Of course we weren't willing to pay that, thinking it was a "bait and switch" maneuver. So we left.I want to add that driving to the RV park through the city was an absolute nightmare! We are in a 35 feet long class A motorhome plus a tow vehicle. It seemed like we had only a few inches in the lane on each side of the motorhome. And people are extremely rude, pulling out in front of us, almost backing into us, etc....

An awesome place! It's a parking lot so definitely has to be your expectation...we had our own accommodations so I can't speak on the bathrooms and I didn't use the laundry services...Water and electric hook ups but no sewer...there is a dump station conveniently located! Check in was easy and the lady at the front desk was so nice and accommodating...she even switched our spot from what I booked online to one she thought we would fit better! She gave us a welcome packet and gave great advice on public transportation into NYC! The location was amazing, quiet, and safe...less than a mile drive to liberty state park for the ferry to ellis island and the statue of liberty! Able to walk about 5 blocks for the subway (grove station) that goes directly to the world trade center...overall a great stay and the location can't be beat!
