Known for its intimate atmosphere and lush northern hardwood forests, the Lower Campground offers a quieter alternative to the more bustling lakeside areas. Stayed at Cherry Springs the night before came here for the showers. Showers cost $4. It's done on an honor system. Only one shower per restroom. Stayed mid-May so I didn't have any trouble getting in, but I could see it being difficult when it's really packed. Restrooms and shower areas were very clean.

Nice camp grounds with a very nice bath/shower facility, the showers were very hot and had good water pressure. You have to keep hitting a button to keep the water on, which was a little annoying. The park, camp grounds and shower facilities were very clean and well maintained. They use a composting method for waste, so no water or chemicals are used, no bad smells like you might think. Some of the sites are up in the woods a little ways, which makes for some very nice and private spaces. The lower lot is pet friendly.
