North Bay Campgrounds Introduce

For residents of the New York region looking for a serene and affordable lakeside retreat, North Bay Campgrounds in Fulton stands out as a hidden gem in Oswego County. Managed by the City of Fulton, this campground is situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Neatahwanta, a name derived from the Iroquois word for "little lake near the big lake." It offers a peaceful alternative to the larger, more crowded state parks, providing a community-focused atmosphere that has made it a favorite for local families and seasonal travelers alike. Whether you are arriving from the Greater Syracuse area or the Southern Tier, North Bay provides the quintessential Upstate New York camping experience, characterized by stunning sunsets over the water and a quiet, wooded landscape.

The campground is designed to cater to a variety of outdoor preferences, from the rugged simplicity of tent camping to the modern convenience of RV life. With a history spanning over 50 years, the facility has recently undergone improvements to better serve the local community. It serves not only as a place to stay but as a recreational hub where the pace of life slows down. Guests often speak of the "community feel" of the park, where neighbors are friendly and the management is deeply invested in the visitor experience. For New Yorkers seeking a location that balances natural beauty with proximity to small-town conveniences like local banks, grocery stores, and restaurants, North Bay Campgrounds offers the perfect middle ground.

Location and accessibility are major highlights for this facility. Situated at 925 Phillips St, Fulton, NY 13069, the campground is easily reachable via State Route 481, making it a convenient drive for those coming from Syracuse (approximately 30 minutes south) or Oswego. The park has been developed with inclusivity in mind, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. Additionally, wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available on-site, ensuring that the lakeside views and recreational opportunities are available to everyone. Its position on the north end of the lake provides a unique vantage point for photography and nature watching, with frequent sightings of osprey and other local wildlife.

The services offered at North Bay Campgrounds are comprehensive, aiming to provide a stress-free environment for all types of campers. The facility accommodates both short-term daily visitors and those looking for a seasonal home-away-from-home. For RV enthusiasts, the campground provides essential utilities to ensure a comfortable stay. While the facility is known for its rustic and "dated but clean" charm, the city has maintained high standards for the basic amenities that matter most to campers. Payments are made easy with the acceptance of credit and debit cards, and the on-site management is frequently cited by locals for being exceptionally helpful with logistics and site placement.

If you are looking for a reliable, friendly, and beautifully situated campground in Central New York, North Bay is a destination that truly lives up to its reputation as a "perfect get-away" for the local community.

It's a camp ground, so no rooms. Stayed overnight in the smaller area, as you enter on the right. Very quiet. A couple of downsides to the site, a bit of home to the toilet, even further to the shower and a lack of outlets to recharge. Don't let those items stop you. The hosts are great, as is the site. Nice views and enough room between sites.

Was very happy with this Campground. Had a great time fishing and the sunsets were beautiful. BobiJo and Dallas the office workers were such nice people. They came by a couple times to make sure I was okay and if me or my family needed anything. Definitely will be back next summer.
