Pettecote Junction Campground Introduce
Pettecote Junction Campground stands as a cherished destination in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds, specifically located in the scenic village of Cedar Run. Established in 1965, this family-owned and operated retreat has become a cornerstone for outdoor enthusiasts seeking the perfect blend of adventure and tranquility. Nestled between the tranquil waters of Pine Creek and the world-renowned Pine Creek Rail Trail, the campground offers a unique "island-like" feel that isolates guests from the noise of modern traffic and replaces it with the soothing sounds of the river and the wind through the pines. Under the dedicated ownership of Doug and Jill Garman, the park has seen significant modernizations that cater to today’s campers while meticulously preserving the rustic charm that has drawn families back for generations.
The atmosphere at Pettecote Junction is defined by its commitment to being a place "where family happens." It is not merely a place to park an RV or pitch a tent; it is a community hub where children enjoy a rare sense of independence and safety. Because the campground is situated at the end of a long cul-de-sac on Beach Road, there is no through-traffic, allowing kids to explore the grounds, visit the playground, or bike to the nearby ice cream shop with minimal parental worry. This sense of freedom, combined with the spectacular natural backdrop of the Pine Creek Gorge—often referred to as the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon—makes it a premier choice for those looking to unplug from digital distractions and reconnect with one another in a pristine wilderness setting.
Location and Accessibility are among the campground's most strategic advantages. You can find this retreat at 400 Beach Road, Cedar Run, PA 17727, USA. While the setting feels wonderfully secluded, it is easily reachable for residents across the Commonwealth, located roughly 30 minutes south of the historic town of Wellsboro. The campground is designed to be inclusive, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, an ADA-approved ramp to the camp store and office, and dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking lots. Furthermore, the bathhouses have been updated to meet ADA standards, ensuring that all visitors, regardless of mobility needs, can comfortably enjoy the facility. For those arriving with larger rigs, the park is "big-rig friendly" with level gravel pads and easy-to-navigate access roads.
The Services Offered at Pettecote Junction Campground cover every aspect of the modern outdoor experience. Whether you are a traditionalist who prefers primitive tenting or a "glamper" looking for a touch of luxury, the onsite services are comprehensive. The management provides essential utility support for RVs and a variety of rental options for those who don't have their own equipment. The onsite camp store is well-stocked with the basics, from seasoned firewood and propane refills to souvenirs that serve as mementos of your stay. For those who need to remain somewhat connected, the park offers a free Wi-Fi hotspot, balancing the "unplugged" lifestyle with the convenience of modern communication.

Customer Reviews
Been there many times with the family. We liked the location for letting our kids run free without worrying about them getting into trouble. They enjoyed the independence of that experience I think. Once you get to the campground, the access road is a long cul-de-sac. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Pine Creek makes for a great tubing ride in the summer months.
We loved our glamping experience! It was super cozy! We have been camping ⛺️ at Petticote Junction for close to 50 years Doug & Jill have done an amazing improvement is so many ways!! The only minor disappointment was we were a little chilly at night with temp in the low 40’s. Our down sleeping bag kept us warm or having a heated blanket is worth having . Overall it was so enjoyable!!
Pettecote Junction is a perfect place for a relaxing and fun-filled camping experience. The facilities are first rate, bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The general store is well-stocked and the location right between Pine Creek and the Pine Creek Rail Trail is unbeatable. Staff is friendly and courteous. A great campground.
We stayed at the Trails Edge cabin this time. Beautiful cabin and extremely clean. The staff are beyond friendly. I also loved walking around and all the other campers were so kind and would say hello. The creek is a great place to cool off and the trail is awesome for walking and biking. We can’t wait to go back in October!
Our glamping tent was lovely! The bed and bedding was so cozy and the electric fireplace was a great touch and helped on those chilly nights. We loved being able to have fresh coffee first thing in the morning as well! Everyone at the campground was very friendly and the facilities are spotless. The location can’t be beat with direct access to the rail trail!
