R & D Family Campground Introduce

R & D Family Campground is a welcoming outdoor destination located in the heart of Milford, Virginia. Known for its quiet, wooded atmosphere, this campground offers a peaceful escape from the "concrete jungle" of urban life while remaining conveniently close to major Virginia attractions. Managed with a personal touch, R & D Family Campground prides itself on providing a well-maintained environment where visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the Virginia countryside. Whether you are traveling through the state and need a comfortable place to stay for the night or are planning a family vacation to nearby theme parks, this facility offers a blend of rustic charm and essential modern conveniences.

The campground is designed to accommodate a variety of camping styles, from traditional tent enthusiasts to those traveling in large RVs. One of the standout qualities of the park is its setting; unlike many modern RV resorts that feature wide-open gravel pads, R & D Family Campground maintains a significant amount of natural tree cover, providing shade and a sense of privacy for its guests. The property features a mix of seasonal residents and short-term travelers, creating a stable and friendly community environment. It is a place where "country" living meets professional service, ensuring that every guest can relax under the trees after a long day of exploring the region.

Location and accessibility are major benefits for guests at R & D Family Campground. Situated at 22085 Sparta Road in Milford, the park is strategically located mid-way between the historic city of Fredericksburg and the state capital of Richmond. This makes it an ideal base for history buffs and those looking to explore the urban highlights of Central Virginia. For thrill-seekers, the campground is only about 20 minutes away from Kings Dominion Theme Park, and for racing fans, it is approximately 30 minutes from the Richmond International Raceway. Accessibility is bolstered by its proximity to major routes like US-301 and Interstate 95, making it an easy stop for those traveling north toward Washington D.C. or south toward Richmond.

The services offered at R & D Family Campground are focused on providing a comfortable and functional stay for all types of campers. The management is known for going the extra mile to accommodate guests, even those who arrive without a prior reservation. The park’s infrastructure supports full-service camping, ensuring that you have everything necessary for a seamless outdoor experience.

Not a family vacation spot, but good for older people.

These two guys were the nicest ever! The campground was just about full—we stopped in without a reservation—and they found us a place to stay for the night (we were traveling through and only needed one night). It was a true campground as you were between trees and not in a concrete jungle. There were laundry and bathhouse facilities but we did not use/need them. The site was very nice and was full hook up. We were able to get a few “antenna” tv channels too. The site was $40 plus tax —very reasonable. The WiFi or something wasn’t working so they could not get our cc to run though. We scrounged up all our cash—only $36–and they said that was good. (We offered to run to an ATM but they said no need). The campground does have a number of full timers and/or seasonal campers but very clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing place. My family is moving to King and Queen from NJ and we camp in the RV on our property when we come down to work on the house. We are super new to Raving and bought a 1997 Allegro Bay bus as a starter RV. R & D is about 20 minutes from our property! A huge plus in the country when your septic hasn't been built yet.😅Ron was great! He talked to us about our RV and showed us how to fill and empty this old girl. He was patient and knowledgeable. We will definitely utilize the facility while building and we look forward to many years of camping in the future. What a great weekend get away close to home!

Peaceful and quiet! Owners are awesome!!!! Well kept Campgrounds!!!! Don't listen to all the lies it's a great place to get some R&R!!! There's a camp store, soda machine, laundry, pool, and little ride to Food Lion if needed. We Love it here. As long as you follow the rules you won't have any problems!!!! Residents are nice but, stay to themselves to give everyone privacy and peace but, are willing to give you a helping hand if needed!!!

I would not recommend R&D Family Campground to anyone Don is rude and makes up lies and rents cabins to people on a monthly basis and then tells you that you have to leave that all 3 cabins are rented for the month of July. He also said new ownership was supposed to take over in April and he's still currently the owner. Apparently new ownership is supposed to take over Friday May 31st. Don't come to this campground
