Ramblin' Pines Introduce
For Maryland residents looking to escape the suburban sprawl without spending hours behind the wheel, Ramblin' Pines provides a refreshing retreat into the quiet countryside of Woodbine. This family-owned and operated campground has become a staple for local campers who appreciate a balance between rustic charm and modern convenience. Nestled in a heavily wooded setting, the park offers a peaceful atmosphere where the sounds of the highway are replaced by the rustle of leaves and the laughter of families enjoying the outdoors. Whether you are a lifelong Marylander or a newcomer to the region, this location captures the essence of Mid-Atlantic camping with its towering deciduous trees and rolling landscape.
The campground is designed to be a "home away from home," catering to a diverse range of camping styles. From traditional tent enthusiasts to luxury RV travelers, the layout provides a variety of shaded sites that offer a sense of privacy often missing from larger commercial parks. Many local visitors find it to be the perfect "shakedown" spot for testing new camping gear or leveling a new trailer, thanks to its proximity to major Maryland hubs like Frederick, Baltimore, and Columbia. The professional staff and well-maintained facilities ensure that every stay is comfortable, allowing guests to focus on making memories rather than managing logistics.
Location and accessibility are among the strongest selling points for Ramblin' Pines. Situated at 801 Hoods Mill Rd in Woodbine, Maryland, the campground is strategically positioned in the center of the Washington-Frederick-Baltimore triangle. For those traveling from Baltimore, the drive is typically less than 30 minutes via I-70, making it an ideal destination for a quick weekend getaway. Travelers from Washington, D.C., can reach the gates in about 45 to 50 minutes. The park is accessed through a secure gated entrance, providing peace of mind for families. While the roads leading to the campground are winding and scenic, they are well-suited for larger rigs, though drivers of exceptionally long units are encouraged to take turns with care. Upon arrival, the transition from the busy Baltimore-Washington corridor to the quiet woods of Howard and Carroll County is immediate and revitalizing.
Ramblin' Pines offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to accommodate modern camping needs while maintaining a traditional outdoor feel. The park is particularly well-equipped for RV owners, featuring full hookups that simplify the camping experience. The onsite services are managed by a friendly team that is frequently praised for their helpfulness, especially for first-time RVers who may need a hand with the initial setup. Really nice campground ⛺️ Clear well shaded sites—very quiet and private. Not as flat as we wanted, but good practice leveling the camper! Lots of activities, pool, putt-putt, tennis courts. All clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located—quick easy drive from Frederick, Baltimore, etc. for some peaceful communion with nature!
I have been camping here since I was a kid and it’s now truly a pleasure to bring my own family here. Their prices are excellent and they have nice amenities. It’s a very traditional feeling family campground with thoughtful updates. Sites are close, if you’re used to state parks but decently sized for a commercial campground. Most are fairly level and shaded, which is nice. The location is very convenient to most of Maryland and southern PA. We camp here 3-4 times a season. Halloween here is LIT!
I went to hear a band play. The band is called Whiskey Logic and they were excellent! I did not stay at the campground as I was only there for the band, but it was a very beautiful area a little slice of Americana!A lot of families and retirees. I spoke with quite a few people there who return year after year.
My granddaughters love coming here every summer! We rented a cabin this year and they enjoyed it a lot. Playing in the pool, bouncing on the pillow and many other activities keep them entertained! The csbin is a bit pricier than I'd hope but it was nice!
We love Ramblin Pines Camground. Everyone is very nice. They have full hookups, open year round. Nice large dog area which our guys love.
