Resica Falls Scout Reservation Introduce
For those seeking an authentic wilderness experience in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, Resica Falls Scout Reservation stands as a premier destination. Spanning over 4,200 acres of pristine forest, this reservation is more than just a place to pitch a tent; it is a legendary retreat that has served the Pennsylvania region for decades. Operated by the Cradle of Liberty Council, the reservation is famous for its namesake 45-foot waterfall and the clear, rushing waters of the Big Bushkill Creek. While primarily a hub for youth development and Scouting America programs, its vast landscape and well-maintained facilities make it a cornerstone of outdoor recreation in Monroe County, attracting thousands of visitors who seek to reconnect with the natural world.
The reservation provides a unique blend of rugged adventure and structured comfort. Visitors often remark on the "absolutely stunning" views of the waterfalls and the meticulously clean state of the grounds. Unlike many commercial campgrounds that can feel crowded or urbanized, Resica Falls offers an expansive, "seemingly endless" track of mountain trails and clear streams. The community atmosphere here is professional and friendly, rooted in the values of the Scouting movement. Whether you are arriving for a weekend of fly fishing on the trout-stocked creek or a week-long summer adventure, the environment is designed to be both educational and deeply restorative, providing a safe haven where nature takes center stage.
Location and accessibility are key components of the Resica Falls experience. Situated at 1200 Resica Falls Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302, USA, the reservation is conveniently located just a short drive from the major thoroughfares of the Poconos, yet it feels entirely secluded once you enter the gates. It is easily accessible for residents across Eastern Pennsylvania and the Greater Philadelphia area. The facility has made significant strides in ensuring that its natural beauty is available to everyone, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms. This commitment to accessibility ensures that even those with mobility challenges can enjoy the central areas of the camp and the breathtaking views of the falls.
The infrastructure of the reservation is built to handle large groups while maintaining the integrity of the forest. The roads within the camp are well-marked, and the parking facilities are ample and free for visitors. For those planning a trip, the proximity to East Stroudsburg means that essential supplies and local services are within reach, though the reservation itself provides a comprehensive array of amenities that often make leaving the property unnecessary. From the moment you arrive at the designated check-in areas, the staff ensures a smooth transition into the wilderness, prioritizing safety and resident comfort above all else.
The services offered at Resica Falls Scout Reservation are extensive, catering to a wide variety of outdoor interests. While many know it for its youth programs, the reservation also provides rental opportunities for cabins and campsites during the off-season and for specific community events. The staff is highly trained in outdoor safety and management, providing a "finely oiled machine" experience for guests. The following services and amenities are standard at the reservation:
- Professional campsite management and 24-hour ranger oversight for safety and security.
- Clean and modernized cabin rentals, many featuring electricity, heating, and full kitchens.

Great veiws of the waterfalls. Awesome trails and scenic veiws of the streams and river.
Absolutely stunning. The falls have a beautiful viewing area that is extremely clean. The staff is nice, and the campsites are clean. They have a number of clean cabins, and during our trip to Resica, I was amazed at how clean they were compared to other cabins. It was fairly easy to set up camp in tents, as the staff have built wooden tent bases around the camping areas, as well as easy access to firewood. The bathrooms outside the cabin are mildly dirty, but the campsite was an overall positive experience.
The big best thing that stuck out to me about the place was the beauty and peaceful Resica Falls has to offer. Giving’s a beautiful water fall scene eat whole also having 2 small lunch tables. Place is very small and not much to do gets repetitive after an hour of watching. Great small place to stop and see if your driving by, but not much to do. Free of charge !!
I had a bunch of fun especially at the pool don’t use the latrines they look like shreks outhouse just used the pool restroom. it’s overall a great experience also it serves good food for breakfast and hot chocolate there is a falls viewing deck too
Beautiful place. All the fencing that was put up somewhat recently is disappointing and takes away from the view, but it's understandable why it's there. It took me 5 years to discover there's hiking trails. I'll be going more often
