Ricketts Glen RV Sites Introduce

For outdoor enthusiasts and road travelers traversing the scenic corridors of Northern Pennsylvania, finding a reliable and well-equipped home base is essential. Ricketts Glen RV Sites, located in the charming community of Benton, serves as a vital resource for the RV community. Unlike many traditional campgrounds in the region that offer limited amenities, this facility is specifically designed to meet the needs of modern travelers who require full utility connections. Situated just a stone's throw from one of Pennsylvania's most iconic natural landmarks, it offers a pragmatic and comfortable alternative for those who want to experience the beauty of the Endless Mountains without sacrificing the conveniences of home.

The primary appeal of Ricketts Glen RV Sites lies in its commitment to providing "full hookup" capabilities. In a region where state park facilities often feature only primitive sites or simple electric connections, having access to dedicated water, sewer, and high-amperage power is a significant advantage. This makes it an ideal choice for "big rig" owners and families who prefer the self-contained luxury of their own recreational vehicles. The atmosphere is professional and straightforward, catering to weary travelers looking for a flat, accessible, and reliable place to rest between adventures. While it maintains a smaller footprint than sprawling resort-style parks, its focus on utility and proximity to local wonders has made it a favorite for those who value efficiency and ease of access.

Location is the cornerstone of the Ricketts Glen RV Sites experience. Positioned at 233 PA-118 in Benton, PA, the park sits directly on a major state route that serves as a gateway to the region’s wilderness. Its most notable geographic feature is its proximity to Ricketts Glen State Park, which is located just approximately three miles to the east. This allows guests to reach the park’s famous Falls Trail—home to 22 stunning waterfalls—in a matter of minutes. The drive is a simple straight shot along Route 118, making it incredibly convenient for those who want to be the first on the trails in the morning before the crowds arrive.

Accessibility is a high priority for this site. The campground features a wheelchair-accessible parking lot and is designed to accommodate various RV sizes with ease. Because it is located adjacent to a local transit point and situated on a well-maintained state road, navigation is simple even for those driving large Class A motorhomes or towing long fifth-wheels. The terrain at the sites is notably flat and level, a feature frequently praised by local users who have struggled with the more rugged and uneven terrain found in deeper forest settings. While its roadside location means there is some audible traffic during the day, many residents find that the convenience of being able to pull in and hook up quickly far outweighs the sounds of the rural highway.

Ricketts Glen RV Sites operates with a focus on personalized service. When deciding where to park your rig in Columbia County, Ricketts Glen RV Sites is worth choosing primarily for its unrivaled convenience and utility. For many Pennsylvania travelers, the "real" camping experience at the nearby state park is slightly dampened by the lack of full hookups and the difficulty of finding a level spot. By choosing this private site, you essentially get the best of both worlds: you are close enough to the waterfalls to enjoy them all day, but you return to a site where you can run your air conditioning, take a full shower in your own unit, and not worry about your holding tanks. This makes it a superior choice for long-distance travelers and those who utilize their RV as a true "home on wheels."

Furthermore, this location is worth choosing for its reliability. The owner has specifically addressed the local need for more robust RV infrastructure, creating a space that is functional and accessible. Whether you are a weary traveler looking for a safe and flat place to spend the night or a waterfall enthusiast planning a multi-day photography trip, the ease of the full-hookup system cannot be overstated. It provides a "plug-and-play" experience that allows you to focus more on the natural beauty of the glens and less on the logistics of RV maintenance. For those who want to ensure a stress-free stay with all the necessary power and water at their fingertips, Ricketts Glen RV Sites stands as a top-tier local choice.

We’re so thankful that this business owner has the foresight to see the need for more hookups for rv travelers. Ricketts Glen has few electric sites and even fewer full hookups. For the same price, less even counting the reservation fee, we had a flatter more accessible spot for the night. There is a little road noise which isn’t a problem inside with the air conditioner going. Thank you!

These RV sites are simply a side lot adjacent to a small truck stop on a relatively busy state road. They are not private in any way. They might be good for the weary traveler looking to stop for the night on their way elsewhere, but they are not suitable for a weekend getaway for the family. The description provided on the booking website is misleading. A quick Google street view search reveals reality.*EDIT*- With a little bit of work, maybe a fence and some strategic landscaping, this could be a really cool hidden gem.
