Rivers Crossing Campground & Marina Introduce

Rivers Crossing Campground & Marina is a sprawling, 45-acre recreational gem nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes region in Savannah, New York. For locals and travelers across the New York area, this destination has earned a stellar reputation as a "themed weekend" haven, where the focus is firmly on community, family fun, and the natural beauty of the riverfront. Unlike corporate-owned campgrounds that can feel impersonal, Rivers Crossing is a family-owned property where the owners are known for their hands-on approach and genuine care for their guests. This personal touch creates a "homey" atmosphere that keeps visitors returning season after season.

The property is uniquely situated on a historic stretch of the original Erie Canal, often referred to as "Clinton's Ditch." This provides a rare opportunity for guests to camp alongside a piece of New York’s living history while enjoying modern amenities. Whether you are coming to witness the breathtaking migrations at the nearby Montezuma Wildlife Refuge or you are looking for a lively weekend filled with costume contests and pool parties, the campground offers a diverse array of experiences. Its commitment to being an inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly, and transgender safe space ensures that every member of the community feels welcome and secure during their stay in the great outdoors.

Location and Accessibility are significant advantages for this Savannah-based facility. Located at 508 NY-89, the campground is easily accessible for those driving from Syracuse, Rochester, or even the New York City metro area via I-90. The entrance is conveniently positioned immediately after the bridge at May's Point, offering a straightforward arrival for those towing large RVs. Once on-site, the park is designed for ease of use, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and parking lots. The layout of the 81 rentable RV sites ensures that even though you are in a quiet, wooded setting, you are never far from the essential services of the marina and main office.

Services Offered at Rivers Crossing Campground & Marina are comprehensive, catering to high-end RVers, traditional tent campers, and cabin seekers alike. The marina serves as the heartbeat of the operation, providing specialized services for water enthusiasts. Essential services include:

  • Full RV hookups featuring 20, 30, and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections.
  • Premier waterfront sites that place you just steps from the river’s edge.
  • On-site convenience store stocked with camping essentials, snacks, and local favorites.
  • Full-service marina with a boat launch and 26 rentable boat slips for easy river access.
  • Watercraft rentals including canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats for exploring the calm waters.

What is worth choosing at Rivers Crossing is the unmatched spirit of hospitality. Many guests highlight that the owners, Eric and Stacy, treat every camper like a member of their own family, frequently circulating the grounds to ensure everyone is enjoying their stay. This level of dedication is reflected in the pristine condition of the 45-acre property and the creativity of the weekend events. If you are looking for a quiet, corporate-style parking lot, this may not be your first choice; however, if you want a vibrant, community-driven experience where your dog has plenty of room to run and your children are constantly entertained, this is the premier choice in the Finger Lakes.

Furthermore, the value proposition is hard to beat for New York residents. With competitive nightly rates and discounts for weekly stays, it offers an affordable way to experience one of the state's most beautiful regions. The combination of historical significance—being situated on the original Erie Canal—and modern luxuries like a heated pool and high-speed Wi-Fi creates a camping experience that is both nostalgic and comfortable. For those who enjoy the social side of camping, the live music and communal dinners create memories that last long after the tent is packed away. Rivers Crossing Campground & Marina isn't just a place to stay; it's a destination where the journey and the community are as important as the location itself.

This is by far the most homey and well taken care of property I’ve seen traveling through New York. I would choose to stay here again before going to any corporate place. I’m bummed I’m missing their themed Halloween weekend and they had super fun decorations and plans! Lots of nice to walk my dog and for her to roll in. Super clean and very peaceful by the water/boats. All the workers and owners were the absolute nicest people and you can tell they actually care about the property and guests. Thank you for a great time!

This place is the best campground we have been to by far, and trust me when I tell you we have been camping at different locations for 30 years. The owners are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are engaging and are always coming around to make sure you stay is enjoyable. The amount of time and effort they put it to the weekend events are incredible. They make you feel like you’re part of their family. 10 out of 10 would recommend this place all who enjoy a fun relaxing camping trip.

Oh how i want to give a better review. This is a beautiful campground. So much wildlife and beautiful, well kept grounds. I just can't get past the water issue. Brownish yellow water, couldn't use it for coffee or drinking, which is supposed to be included in a "water and electric" site. The pool area was so well kept, however, the water was green. When we were leaving, I tried using the advertised restrooms next to the office, but there were none. I then went down the road to the bathrooms there, which was a well covered outhouse. And don't get me started on the showers. Smelled like sewage and the drain backed up so that I was standing in the brownish yellow water. I felt I needed a shower after my shower. I know, its camping, supposed to rough it a bit. But we've been camping for awhile now, been to alot of campgrounds and never experienced brownish yellow water. Maybe well try again in a few years, but we've got to give this place a rest.......

This park has a charm about it. The location is serene. The owners are great also but the amenities are sub par. The facilities are absolutely disgusting. Dirty even though "cleaned". The showers back up and have a sewage odor. The water is unusable for drinking and cooking. You don't get what you pay for. It is advertised with electric and water, but again the green water isn't usable. The "party" pavilion, call it what it is, makes sites 6 and 7 look ghetto. And the quiet hours are not observed bothering these two sites and the ones near are excessively loud.Just an observation, a new location across from the office would be a better spot for this building and it's activities. The pool was green and nasty looking. Some sort or water treatment system needs to be added to the whole park to make it a more accommodating and an enjoyable stay. With some upgrades this could be a superior camp grounds, but as of now it is mostly a seasonal campers party paradise, notenjoyable for week enders.I am not sure with its issues how it gets so many 5 star reviews. We have been there 3 times, and the last was the last as it was the worst.

Nasty Pit toilets, dirty showers. But happy people, go figure? So the campground has some features like a pool, and then a dance music thing once a week, but some of them happy people dancing have blow up dolls. Lol! There’s featured loads of activities and a pretty nice boat area. As long as your camp trailer is looked up you’ll be fine and those nasty wash rooms can be avoided. Camp store is well stocked up, and manager very helpful. All the restaurants in town are five miles away and very good. We left after a night
