Waterloo / Finger Lakes KOA Holiday Introduce

The Finger Lakes region of New York is a treasure trove of natural beauty, historic landmarks, and world-class wineries. For travelers and locals alike seeking a place to immerse themselves in this landscape, the Waterloo / Finger Lakes KOA Holiday offers a premier outdoor hospitality experience. This campground serves as a versatile home base for exploring the heart of the region, providing a perfect balance between the rugged charm of traditional camping and the modern conveniences of a high-end RV resort. Whether you are arriving with a massive luxury rig, planning a family weekend in a camping cabin, or looking for a serene lodge by the water, this destination caters to the diverse needs of the modern New York traveler.

As a KOA Holiday location, the park is designed to offer more than just a place to sleep; it provides an active vacation environment. The property is famously situated along the Seneca River, which is part of the historic Erie Canal system. This unique waterfront setting allows guests to witness the gentle flow of the canal and even observe local wildlife, such as ospreys and herons, right from their campsites. The atmosphere is one of professional hospitality, often noted for its warm, inclusive environment. As a woman-owned business, the management takes visible pride in the cleanliness of the grounds and the friendliness of the staff, ensuring every guest feels welcomed from the moment they pull through the gates.

Waterloo / Finger Lakes KOA Holiday is strategically positioned at 1278 Waterloo Geneva Road in Waterloo, NY. Its location is a major draw for those coming from different parts of the state, as it sits just ten minutes south of the New York State Thruway (I-90). This makes it incredibly easy to reach for residents of Rochester, Syracuse, or even those making the trek up from the New York City metropolitan area. The park serves as a central hub between Geneva and Seneca Falls, two of the most iconic towns in the Finger Lakes district. This placement offers visitors immediate access to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and the rich cultural history of the Women’s Rights National Historical Park.

Accessibility is a cornerstone of the park’s layout. The facility features wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms, ensuring that the joys of the New York outdoors are available to everyone. The site is gated for privacy and security, with well-marked paths that are easy to navigate even for those arriving after dark. While the park is situated near local routes for easy travel, it maintains a surprisingly quiet atmosphere, allowing the sounds of the river and the surrounding nature to take center stage. For those traveling with larger vehicles, the park offers spacious pull-through sites that are designed to accommodate rigs up to 75 feet in length, minimizing the stress of maneuvering in tight spaces.

When deciding where to stay in the Finger Lakes, Waterloo / Finger Lakes KOA Holiday is worth choosing for several distinct reasons. First and foremost is the quality of the facilities. In a region where many campgrounds can feel dated, this KOA stands out with its recently updated restrooms and meticulously maintained grounds. The "Holiday" designation ensures a higher level of amenities, making it a reliable choice for those who want the "best on the bay" experience. The friendly, attentive staff are frequently cited as the highlight of many guests' stays, providing a level of service that makes travelers feel like "kings and queens."

Furthermore, the park’s commitment to providing an inclusive and safe environment for everyone—from families with young children to the LGBTQ+ community—makes it a modern and welcoming choice. While the park is located near a local gun club and a harbor fountain that occasionally adds some noise to the environment, most visitors find the natural beauty and the convenience of the location far outweigh these factors. The ability to launch a kayak and travel through a river lock directly from your "backyard" is a rare feature that provides a true New York adventure. Whether you are touring local wineries, visiting the del Lago Resort & Casino, or simply relaxing by a fire, this campground delivers a quintessential Finger Lakes experience that is both professional and deeply connected to the local landscape. This KOA location is ideal for touring the Finger Lakes. Great location and the two women who welcomed us in at the front office were just stellar. I love when you go somewhere and everybody is so friendly and helpful. Fantastic campground. Spotless grounds, sites are all large but the ones that offer the patios are worth it. Love that they had comfy fire chairs and outdoor table. Really an all around fantastic spot. Will definitely be on the list to visit again.

Good location and easy to get to. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sites are large, level, and hookups are in good shape. Big, clean, dog park! Gun shots from the gun club across the river startled me a few times, and the noise from the harbor 'fountain' did get old after a few days I will admit. Though the back-in sites on the harbor are definitely prettier than the rest of the pull throughs in the main field. (Sites W13-W20 will require you to back a fair ways down the road if you have a trailer, fair warning.) WiFi was spotty, sites are a bit expensive.

Lovely camping location! It was beautiful, quiet and we had a great experience. There were fun activities for kids scheduled daily and the bathrooms were very clean with no wait ever. We brought a converted trailer and had a lovely scenic site by the river. The staff, especially Jacqueline, were all friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a great relaxing weekend!

I would have given 5 stars but there is only 1 bathhouse for such a large facility. Beautiful, level sites, some have patios and lawn furniture and are on water. Lots of activities on site and close by. Would love to stay here for about a week!

Rv park on canal. Its a place to park an rv. We were told over 2 yrs ago they were making "improvements " like a inground pool, more things to do etc etc. Yeah none of it is done. No pool, no swimming in the canals. the docks look unsafe imo and didnt venture out on them. The price is 150.00 per night as of summer 2025 for full hook up
