Seneca River RV Park Introduce

Seneca River RV Park is one of the newest additions to the outdoor hospitality landscape in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Nestled directly along the historic Cayuga-Seneca Canal, this community-focused RV park offers travelers and local residents a dedicated space to enjoy the natural beauty of Upstate New York. Established with the goal of providing a modern camping experience, the park caters to a variety of visitors—from those participating in local sporting events like the Ironman in Geneva to wine enthusiasts exploring the famed regional trails. As a relatively new facility, it provides an evolving environment where the serenity of the water meets the convenience of modern RV living.

The park is designed to offer a tranquil atmosphere away from the high-energy crowds of larger commercial resorts, focusing instead on the scenic value of its waterfront location. Whether you are a "snowbird" passing through the New York corridors or a local looking for a seasonal getaway, Seneca River RV Park positions itself as a clean, functional basecamp. With a total of 58 sites, the community is small enough to maintain a neighborhood feel while being large enough to accommodate various rig sizes. The park’s growth is a testament to the increasing demand for high-quality outdoor recreation spaces within the Waterloo and Geneva corridor.

Seneca River RV Park is conveniently located at 1036 Waterloo Geneva Rd, Waterloo, NY 13165, USA. This prime location places it right on the edge of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, a vital part of the New York State Canal System that connects the two largest Finger Lakes. For those traveling by road, the park is exceptionally accessible; it sits just minutes away from major thoroughfares, making it a simple stop for those navigating between Syracuse and Rochester. Its position on New York Routes 5 and 20 ensures that even the largest motorhomes can reach the park without navigating restrictive narrow backroads.

From a local perspective, the accessibility extends beyond the road. The park is situated just a short drive from the historic village of Waterloo and the bustling city of Geneva. This means that while you are surrounded by the quiet hum of the river and local wildlife, you are never more than a few minutes away from gourmet dining, local breweries, and essential shopping at the Waterloo Premium Outlets. Furthermore, the park is an ideal jumping-off point for the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, allowing guests to spend their days at world-class vineyards and return to their quiet waterfront site by evening.

Choosing the right RV park in the Finger Lakes often depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. Seneca River RV Park is worth choosing if you value a simplified, clean, and direct connection to the local waterways and wine country. Unlike many of the older parks in the region that can feel dated or cramped, this facility has benefited from recent construction and updates, including the completion of its modern bathhouse and laundry facilities. It offers a level of professional utility infrastructure—such as reliable full hookups and level stone sites—that is essential for modern RVers who want a "plug and play" experience.

One of the standout reasons to select this park is its location. Being situated on the canal provides a serene backdrop that is significantly different from a standard roadside lot. While some early reviews from its opening phase mentioned construction delays, more recent feedback from late 2024 and 2025 highlights that the facilities are now fully operational, with guests praising the cleanliness of the showers and the helpfulness of the owners. It is a particularly strong choice for those who are independent travelers; if you don't need a scheduled calendar of activities or a swimming pool, you will appreciate the "no-frills, high-quality" approach that lets the natural beauty of the Seneca River take center stage.

Additionally, the park's flexibility with payments and its pet-friendly nature make it a practical choice for modern families and solo travelers alike. In an area where many campgrounds can be difficult to navigate with large 5th wheels or Class A motorhomes, the straightforward access at Seneca River RV Park provides peace of mind. For those visiting for the Ironman, the proximity to Geneva without the inflated prices of city hotels is a major logistical advantage. By choosing Seneca River RV Park, you are securing a spot in a growing community that is quickly becoming a staple for visitors to Waterloo and the wider Seneca Lake area.

We booked this for the Half-Ironman in Geneva, NY for the week of July 8th. Luckily we got in a day early and fortunately the KOA down the street had an open reservation. This RV park is not ready to be opened, but opened anyway. The bath house not being finished wasn't a huge deal breaker to us. Sites didn't have picnic table or fire rings and are really close together. If full it'll feel like a parking lot (no trees like in the pictures). The picture is actually a stock photo and not the RV park. Sewer hookups were all cut way too high and did not have the proper threading. No river access either because the grass is way too tall to get to it.We called and spoke with maybe the owner who was stressing he's been working overtime to get the site ready and that they aren't taking reservations for everyone (although they were because we added a day and booked a reservation without any of the above issues mentioned). He gave us a full refund, but we would have been screwed if the KOA didn't have a spot for us. If the owner is reading this please update your pictures to show the true location so people driving through aren't surprised.

Disappointing. Booked this only to find out no picnic tables, no fire rings and no bath house. Still under construction! Told they were booked for the weekend. As you can see several empty sites. Due to rain Super muddy and lots of standing water. Might have not been so bad if there was grass.

Perfect place to stop for a couple days and visit attractions in the area. Although no one‘s here on site it makes for a nice quiet environment. The owner Bob runs a marina down the road a bit and it’s a super nice guy. It’s a brand new Park and I could see it turning into a pretty nice place over the years

Would not recommend aleast until a full functioning bath house is completed as advertised on website as a "community bathhouse". Very poor advertisement. My wife and I were told to "drive down the road to shower". They do not refund as well so be cautious of your booking. In a few years this place has potential but I wouldn't say anytime soon.
