What is worth choosing at Rivers Edge Retreat is the exceptional level of hospitality and the unique "first-time friendly" atmosphere. Many campers choose this location specifically because the owner and staff go above and beyond to check on guests, ensuring they have everything required for a successful stay. This makes it an ideal choice for families who might be nervous about their first camping trip or for couples looking for a romantic riverside escape where they won't have to worry about the logistics of the wilderness. The availability of kayaks and the proximity to a waterfall mean that your itinerary is built-in; you don't have to travel elsewhere to find adventure.

Furthermore, the retreat is worth choosing for its immersive natural ambiance. The reviews from real customers highlight the "serenading owl calls" and the "immersive natural experience" that many larger, more commercialized campgrounds lose. If you are a nature lover seeking a place that feels authentic and peaceful, the combination of the river, the waterfall, and the well-maintained sites makes Rivers Edge Retreat a top-tier selection in Washington County. It is a place that proves you don't need to travel to the furthest reaches of the Adirondacks to find true serenity and a perfect escape from the daily grind.

Whether you are looking to spend your days paddling down the river or your nights gathered around a fire with friends, this Greenwich campground offers a high-quality, reliable, and deeply pleasant environment. The fact that it is a dog-friendly and kid-friendly location ensures that no member of the family is left behind. For an authentic New York camping experience that prioritizes the guest’s comfort and the land's natural beauty, Rivers Edge Retreat is a destination that consistently delivers on its promise of tranquility and connection.

We chose this place because it was close to home and my partner thought it would be a great first camping experience for me. And he was absolutely right. The owner was extremely hospitable, came and checked up on us and made sure we had everything we needed, offered for us to go join them at the clubhouse for a bonfire, etc. They have kayaks for rent so we took some out and went down the river and hiked to a waterfall they told us about. Despite the rainy/cold weather, it was definitely a great experience. Definitely recommend and will be returning again soon!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this enchanting campsite nestled by the river. The soothing sound of the river and the serenading owl calls at night created a truly immersive natural experience. The outdoor fire pit was perfect for a cozy gathering and roasting marshmallows, adding to the overall ambiance. My teen boys also loved it! There is a small waterfall nearby which added an extra touch to the serene setting. It is truly a perfect escape for nature lovers seeking tranquility and connection with nature. I would highly recommend!

What an awesome spot! We stayed here for 3 days right on the Batten Kill river with deer, falcons, herons beavers etc. for company. Todd and Hector made sure we had everything we needed and kept us supplied with firewood. There are some great hikes right from our site and also a supermarket close by which we walked to. Todd has only recently taken over the RV retreat and has great plans which will only make the place even better. I will definitely be back.
