Schuyler Yacht Basin Introduce

Schuyler Yacht Basin is a distinguished multi-functional resort and campground situated in the historic village of Schuylerville, New York. Positioned along the scenic banks of the Hudson River and the Champlain Canal, this destination offers a unique blend of maritime charm and terrestrial relaxation. Whether you are a local New Yorker seeking a weekend getaway or a traveler navigating the New York State Canal System, the basin provides a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The property serves as both a premier marina and a well-equipped RV park, making it a focal point for water recreation and outdoor living in the Saratoga County region.

The spirit of the establishment is deeply rooted in hospitality and historical significance. Located on the hallowed grounds where British troops once camped during the Revolutionary War, the resort pays homage to its past while providing modern, creative accommodations. From the personalized service of the staff to the lively atmosphere of the on-site dining, Schuyler Yacht Basin is designed to offer an immersive experience. Residents of the New York region often visit not just for the camping, but for the opportunity to unplug in a contemporary farmhouse setting that overlooks the serene waters of Fish Creek and the Hudson River.

Location and accessibility are among the park's most significant advantages. Situated at 1 Ferry St, Schuylerville, NY 12871, it is conveniently located just 15 to 20 minutes from the world-renowned Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga Racecourse. This makes it an ideal base for those who want to enjoy the excitement of the horse races or the mineral baths during the day and return to a quiet waterfront retreat at night. For boaters, the basin is a midpoint between Troy and Whitehall on the Champlain Canal. The entrance and parking lots are wheelchair accessible, ensuring that the beauty of the riverfront is available to all guests. Furthermore, the village of Schuylerville is within walking distance, offering easy access to local shops, grocery stores, and historic landmarks.

  • Full-service RV camping with 25 total sites, including options for electrical and sewage hookups.
  • Marina services offering transient and seasonal dockage for boats up to 60 feet, including gasoline, diesel, and pump-out stations.
  • Unique Container Cabin rentals—premier accommodations made from recycled shipping containers featuring contemporary farmhouse interiors.
  • Canoe and kayak rental services, providing Old Town canoes and paddleboards for exploring the Hudson River and Fish Creek.
  • On-site dining at The Basin Grill, a seafood bar and grill offering indoor and outdoor seating with river views.
  • Laundry facilities and on-shore restrooms with public showers for the convenience of campers and boaters alike.
  • Provision of essential supplies including ice, firewood, and dockside water and WiFi.

The features and highlights of Schuyler Yacht Basin reflect its commitment to being a high-quality resort destination. The property is designed to maximize its waterfront location, providing guests with stunning views and direct access to recreational activities. The integration of a full-service restaurant on the grounds means that visitors can enjoy a professional dining experience without ever having to leave the resort, while the unique lodging options provide a talking point for any vacation.

  • Exceptional hospitality highlighted by attentive staff who assist with boat maintenance, fresh water refills, and guest check-ins.
  • The Container Cabins, which feature queen-sized beds, kitchenettes, air conditioning, and private balconies overlooking the water.
  • A family-friendly environment that is "good for kids" and offers ample space for outdoor play and exploration.
  • A Captain’s Lounge and a deck overlooking the river, perfect for social gatherings or quiet reflection.
  • Proximity to historic sites such as the Saratoga Monument and the General Philip Schuyler House.
  • Pet-friendly policies for RV campers (though notably, pets may be restricted in specific rental units like the cabins).
  • Lively community events and spot-on food and beer recommendations at the on-site grill.

For those looking to secure a spot at this waterfront retreat, the management can be reached through their local office. Whether you are interested in a nightly RV site or a unique stay in a shipping container, it is recommended to book in advance, especially during the busy Saratoga racing season.

What is worth choosing at Schuyler Yacht Basin is undoubtedly the unique Container Cabin experience. At a competitive rate, these cabins offer a "tiny home" lifestyle without sacrificing modern amenities like air conditioning, private bathrooms, and plush bedding. It is a rare opportunity to stay in a contemporary, recycled structure that feels both industrial and cozy, all while being steps away from the water. For those who enjoy the serenity of nature but prefer a solid roof over their heads, these cabins are the premier choice in the region.

Additionally, the "all-in-one" nature of the resort makes it a superior choice for travelers. Having the ability to park an RV, rent a kayak for $12.00 to see a sunset on the river, and then walk a few yards to a top-rated grill for a seafood dinner is a convenience that is hard to find elsewhere. The personal touch provided by the staff, often mentioned in reviews as treating guests "like family," elevates the stay from a simple camping trip to a memorable resort experience. For anyone in the New York area looking to explore the historic Champlain Canal or the Saratoga region, Schuyler Yacht Basin offers a perfect balance of adventure, comfort, and local charm.

Finally, the location makes it worth choosing for history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Being situated at a historic junction of the Erie Canalway allows for endless exploration of the trail systems and waterways. Whether you are looking to "unplug" for a few days or use the basin as a launching point for a larger New York adventure, the combination of professional service, unique accommodations, and a stunning riverfront setting makes this Schuylerville gem a 10/10 recommendation.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Absolutely AMAZING experience at Schuyler Yacht Basin and Basin Grill! From the moment we arrived, Henry treated us like family. He went above and beyond—gassed up the boat, did the pump-out, filled our fresh water, and even took us right to our cabins. Truly exceptional hospitality. Henry is the kind of guy who makes you feel completely taken care of—professional, kind, and just freaking amazing. We had dinner at The Basin Grill and were lucky to be served by Tayler. She was absolutely the best—so full of personality and energy. Her recommendations for food and beer were spot-on. Service like hers is rare, and she made our night unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back in a few days—and we’re already looking forward to it. If you’re anywhere near here by boat or car, do not miss this place. 10/10 recommend!

Great location. 20 minutes from Saratoga and 30 minutes from Vermont. There's a restaurant a short walk from your container. This is my 3rd stay at this location in the past 3 years. It seems that the upkeep of the rooms have been neglected. Be prepared to take a 1 minute shower before the water gets cold.

We stayed in the container cabin. Wonderful. Nicely kept grounds. Close to shops and eateries. Wonderful grill and tiki bar on premises.
