Riverside Pines Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking the quintessential mountain escape, the Adirondack Park offers an expansive wilderness that has beckoned travelers for generations. Nestled within this majestic six-million-acre preserve is Riverside Pines, a premier campground located in Chestertown, New York. Situated on the scenic banks of the Schroon River, this destination perfectly balances the rustic charm of traditional camping with the modern comforts that today's families expect. Whether you are looking to pitch a tent under towering pines, park a luxury RV, or settle into a cozy cabin, Riverside Pines provides a serene and professionally managed environment designed to create lasting memories in the great outdoors.
Riverside Pines is more than just a place to stay; it is a community-focused retreat that captures the spirit of the North Country. From the perspective of local New York users, the campground serves as a vital jumping-off point for exploring regional favorites like Schroon Lake, Lake George, and the high peaks of the Adirondacks. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, characterized by the sound of the flowing river and the laughter of children enjoying the on-site playground. With its unique combination of private river access, a sandy beach, and contemporary additions like an open-air taproom, it has quickly become a "diamond in the Adirondacks" for those who value both nature and social amenities.
Location and accessibility are key components of the Riverside Pines experience. The campground is conveniently located at 1 Carl Turner Rd, Chestertown, NY 12817, USA. For residents traveling from Albany, Saratoga Springs, or even the New York City metropolitan area, the park is easily reachable via the Adirondack Northway (I-87). Its strategic position near the junction of Route 8 and Schroon River Road ensures that guests spend less time navigating complex backroads and more time enjoying their vacation. The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances and a parking lot to accommodate all guests.
Upon arrival, visitors find that the park is laid out to provide both privacy and ease of movement. The sites are wooded and spacious, often measuring approximately 50 feet by 50 feet, which is a significant highlight for those with larger RV rigs. Because the campground is situated directly on the Schroon River, many sites offer stunning water views or are just a short walk from the riverfront. On-site parking is plentiful, and the internal roads are maintained to support safe passage for vehicles of all sizes, including "big rigs" up to 60 feet in length. This ease of access makes Riverside Pines a preferred choice for New York's dedicated RV community and weekend warriors alike.

When deciding on an Adirondack campground, Riverside Pines is worth choosing for its unique blend of "river life" and "resort-style" amenities. For many New Yorkers, the defining factor is the Schroon River itself; the ability to tube, fish, or boat directly from your campsite provides a level of freedom and adventure that is hard to find at land-locked parks. The water here offers deep-water access to Schroon Lake, meaning you can enjoy the tranquility of the river while still having the option to explore the larger lake for a day of high-speed boating or fishing.
Furthermore, the campground is worth choosing because it truly prioritizes the family experience. The layout, which places the playground next to the open-air taproom, is a thoughtful touch that reflects the owners' understanding of modern parenting. You can enjoy a craft beer and live music while your children play safely within sight—a rare combination in the world of outdoor recreation. The cleanliness of the facilities and the responsiveness of the ownership consistently receive high marks from local users, making it a reliable choice for those who want a "special place" to build family memories year after year. Whether you are looking for a weekend escape or a seasonal home in the pines, Riverside Pines offers the quality, atmosphere, and natural beauty that makes Adirondack camping so legendary.
In summary, Riverside Pines is a top-tier destination for anyone looking to explore the Chestertown and Lake George region of New York. By providing essential services alongside extraordinary features like the riverside beach and taproom, it ensures that every guest has a "blast" while adventuring in the mountains. For an authentic, friendly, and high-quality New York camping experience, this Schroon River gem is an excellent choice for your next outdoor adventure.

Excellent experience! We had a blast camping and adventuring in the area! The facilities were nice and clean, the playground for kids was really fun, the beach was extraordinary, and the taproom was awesome. We visited when they had music and a food truck, which was an added bonus. Highly recommend!
A diamond in the Adirondacks! Private, clean, family friendly, open air tap room, responsive owners, gorgeous beach! And a playground next to the tap room… need I say more? What more could you want?!? We’ve already booked our trip for next year! This truly is a special place that is sure to make our family memories for years to come.
The most peaceful, enjoyable, and fun atmosphere! You can’t help but feel those nostalgic, summer in the ADK’s feels!! Great beach for both adults and kids, a playground, as well as an amazing new taproom! They have an awesome variety of beer and wine options. I highly reccomend Riverside Pines!
It was okay, that's about all I can give Riverside Pines. The only real dislike was there was never anyone in the office. That and no ice machine. My wife loves to fish for pan fish. The bank was too steep to fish from, and the docks were too narrow. So plan on going off site if you would like to do that.
Spent another long weekend here with my family, it was such a nice time. The owners are great and the campground is well kept. There are many hiking trails nearby that we took advantage of. I look forward to coming back in the future.
