Loon Lake RV Park Introduce

Loon Lake RV Park is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, specifically within the charming town of Chestertown, New York. This park is widely recognized by local outdoor enthusiasts and long-term campers as a premier destination for those seeking a peaceful, seasonal retreat. Spanning over 100 scenic acres on the northern banks of the pristine Loon Lake, the park offers a quintessential Upstate New York experience where the air is crisp, the pines are tall, and the water is always within reach. It serves as an ideal sanctuary for individuals and families looking to trade the fast-paced environment of metropolitan New York for a more deliberate, nature-focused lifestyle during the warmer months.

The park is primarily focused on seasonal residency, fostering a tight-knit community of "regulars" who return year after year. This creates a safe, neighborhood-like atmosphere where neighbors quickly become friends and family traditions are born. As a family-owned and operated facility, Loon Lake RV Park prides itself on maintaining a clean, quiet, and well-ordered environment. The park’s layout is designed to maximize the natural beauty of the Adirondack Park, with many sites tucked away in wooded areas that offer privacy while still providing easy access to the community’s shared amenities and the lakefront itself.

Location and accessibility are among the park's strongest assets for travelers from across the New York region. Located at 5408 NY-8 in Chestertown, the park is situated in the southeastern portion of the Adirondack State Park. For those traveling from the Capital Region or New York City, the journey is straightforward and scenic. The park is just a short drive from the Adirondack Northway (I-87), making it highly accessible while remaining sufficiently removed from the highway to preserve its tranquil atmosphere. This strategic positioning allows residents to enjoy the seclusion of the mountains while remaining close to modern conveniences.

  • Located directly across from the Loon Lake Public Beach, offering residents immediate access to swimming and sunbathing.
  • Just a 25-minute drive from the world-famous Lake George Village, providing easy access to premier shopping, dining, and boat tours.
  • Only 20 minutes from Gore Mountain in North Creek, making it a great base for hikers and mountain bikers in the summer.
  • A mere two miles from the historic village of Chestertown, which features local grocery stores, quaint boutiques, and essential services.
  • Approximately 4 miles west of Exit 25 on the I-87 Northway, ensuring a stress-free commute for weekenders.

The services offered at Loon Lake RV Park are tailored to the needs of the modern RV owner who seeks a semi-permanent summer home. The park is equipped to handle the logistical requirements of large rigs and long-term stays, ensuring that comfort is never compromised. Management focuses on providing reliable infrastructure so that residents can focus on relaxation and recreation. The primary services available include:

Love this little market and deli. The ice cream is always fantastic, I highly recommend trying a new flavor every single time because you can't go wrong with any of them and there's so many to choose from. Their food is just as delicious. My favorite by far is a sub called the Vermonter - turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, and chipotle ranch panini pressed. It's absolutely delicious! But the thing that sets this place apart from anywhere else is the always smiling staff behind the counter. All the girls that work there are always quick, friendly, and tend to learn what you like if your a regular very quickly. You'll find its the best customer service you've ever had in your life and after you try this place, you'll never stop coming back!

Been coming here for 30 years. Love it and it's simplicity. Love that I feel at home here even though there have been so many additions in the last 5 years.
