Strawberry Crossroads Recreational Event Center & Camping Introduce

For Marylanders seeking a reprieve from the high-energy coastal crowds while staying within reach of the Atlantic’s best attractions, Strawberry Crossroads Recreational Event Center & Camping offers a unique and versatile destination. Located in the quiet community of Pittsville on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, this multi-purpose facility serves as much more than a standard campground. It is a historic piece of preserved farmland that has been in the same family for five generations, spanning over 100 acres of lush forest and open fields. For local residents, it represents a "best of both worlds" scenario: the peaceful seclusion of a rural farm setting combined with the logistical convenience of being situated just a short drive from the shopping hubs of Salisbury and the famous boardwalk of Ocean City.

The atmosphere at Strawberry Crossroads is defined by its rustic charm and the personal touch of its management. Unlike the larger, corporate-run RV resorts found closer to the beach, this campground prioritizes a quiet, country lifestyle where nature takes center stage. Half of the property is dedicated to forest conservation, featuring two intersecting streams that create a vibrant habitat for local wildlife. It is an ideal spot for those who want to spend their mornings birdwatching or hiking through wooded trails and their afternoons enjoying the modern amenities of the nearby coastal towns. The park’s commitment to hospitality is a cornerstone of the experience, with guests frequently noting that the welcoming environment makes them feel like part of the family.

Location and Accessibility are primary highlights for visitors traveling through Wicomico County. Situated at 6605 Morris Road, Pittsville, MD 21850, the campground is strategically positioned near Route 50, the main artery connecting the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to the Maryland beaches. This makes it an exceptionally accessible spot for weekenders coming from Annapolis, Baltimore, or Washington D.C. Despite its rural feel, it is only about 15 to 20 miles from Ocean City and Assateague Island National Seashore. For families involved in regional youth sports, the park is a popular choice due to its proximity to the major sports complexes in Salisbury and Princess Anne. Accessibility is also integrated into the facility, offering wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking lots to accommodate all guests.

Services Offered at Strawberry Crossroads are diverse, catering to traditional campers, event planners, and even long-term travelers. The facility operates as a comprehensive recreational hub with the following services available:

  • RV camping sites featuring electrical hookups for various rig sizes.
  • Cozy camping cabins available for those who prefer "glamping" or do not have their own camping equipment.
  • Primitive tent camping sites for a more traditional, back-to-nature experience.
  • A 7,300 square foot indoor event center equipped with a stage, kitchen, and grand fireplace for weddings, reunions, and parties.
  • Professional RV storage facilities for local owners looking for a secure place to keep their vehicles during the off-season.
  • On-site bathhouse facilities featuring clean, hot showers and flushable toilets.
  • Responsive management and "virtual front desk" assistance to ensure prompt communication for all guest needs.
  • Sustainable farm products and insights into their regenerative, organic farming operations.

Features and Highlights of the property showcase the intersection of Maryland’s agricultural heritage and modern recreation. The facility is not just a place to sleep; it is a destination with activities designed to engage the whole family. Notable features include:

  • A stocked catch-and-release fishing lake, perfect for teaching children the joy of angling.
  • Extensive wooded hiking and biking trails that wind through the 50 acres of conservation forest.
  • Large, 12-acre Bermuda grass fields suitable for various sports like soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey.
  • Recreational courts including areas for volleyball and basketball.
  • Kid-friendly amenities including a playground area and a giant jumping pillow.
  • A pet-friendly environment where dogs are welcomed, allowing the whole family to travel together.
  • Host site for major regional events such as the Ocean City Jeep Jam and motorcycle swap meets.
  • Proximity to the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art and the Salisbury Zoo for easy day trips.

For those interested in booking a stay or touring the event center, the management can be reached through the contact details below. Given the park's popularity for local events and its limited number of specialized cabins, early inquiries are recommended for those planning around the summer season or specific holiday weekends.

What is worth choosing at Strawberry Crossroads? For many visitors, it is the unique experience of staying on a working farm that is transitioning into a regenerative, permaculture operation. It is one of the few places in the region where you can learn about organic hemp and herb farming while enjoying your vacation. The cabins are particularly worth choosing for those who want a lake view and a private yard without the high cost of a beachfront hotel. Each of the six cabins offers a unique vantage point of the water and includes furnished patios and charcoal grills, making them a perfect setup for evening barbecues under the stars.

Ultimately, choosing Strawberry Crossroads is about choosing a tranquil, high-value alternative to the standard beach vacation. Whether you are looking for a convenient home base for a youth soccer tournament in Salisbury, a quiet place to store your RV, or a scenic backdrop for a family reunion, this Pittsville gem provides a level of hospitality and natural beauty that is distinctly "Eastern Shore." Its quiet country setting, combined with its proximity to the Atlantic, makes it a premier choice for Marylanders who want to escape the hustle but keep the fun within reach.

We booked a last minute trip to save on commute time for kids sporting events and had an amazing experience. Exceptional hospitality and prompt response time made this an easy win for a busy family. Great pricing and not far from local attractions like sports complexes, beach, etc. The kids wanted to stay longer so we’ll be back next week!

Great value and an ideal location just off of Route 50. Bathrooms were clean and plenty of hot water to clean off from the ocean and tent camping. The setting is basic, but it appears they are developing the property bit-by-bit. I plan on staying here in the future, either by tent or cabin.

This weekend there was a motorcycle event going on. Motorcyclist were racing and yelling because driving out meant slowing down their racing. Barely left the property and had to be hyper vigilant due to having a child playing outdoors with the irresponsibility of these motorcyclist. Manager was rude and condescending simply because the motorcyclist pay more. They did not ask if anything was wrong on our end. Will not be returning again and will not recommend to anyone. So much for finding a place, I thought could be a fun family tradition going forward.

We had an outstanding two nights at strawberry campground. Tj is an excellent host and took good care of us. Cabins were adequate and a great addition to have showers and restrooms on site.
