Tall Timbers Property Owners Association Introduce

Tall Timbers Property Owners Association is a unique, private gated campground community nestled in the picturesque Pochuck Mountains of Sussex, New Jersey. Spanning approximately 250 acres of lush, wooded terrain, this destination offers a distinct "home away from home" experience for those who value the tranquility of nature combined with the security and social benefits of a property owners' association. Unlike traditional public campgrounds that cater primarily to short-term weekenders, Tall Timbers is largely owner-occupied, fostering a stable and familiar environment where neighbors become lifelong friends. From early April through the beginning of November, the community comes alive with residents enjoying the crisp mountain air and the extensive recreational facilities that define the Sussex County lifestyle.

The atmosphere at Tall Timbers is one of a traditional summer colony. It is a place where the hustle of the New York metropolitan area—located just about an hour away—fades into the background, replaced by the sounds of rustling leaves and laughter from the playground. The park is meticulously managed to maintain a high standard of living for its members, ensuring that the common areas, from the lakefront to the sports courts, remain in excellent condition. This focus on long-term value and community welfare makes it a sought-after location for families looking for a seasonal retreat that they can truly call their own. Whether you are looking to purchase a site or visiting through a member, the experience is centered on relaxation and the simple joys of outdoor living.

Location and accessibility are among the top selling points for Tall Timbers. Situated at 100 Tall Timbers Road in Sussex, NJ, the campground is easily accessible for residents across Northern and Central New Jersey. Its proximity to major regional landmarks adds significant value to the location; it is just a short drive from High Point State Park, the highest point in New Jersey, and the popular Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon. This makes it an ideal base camp for those who enjoy world-class skiing, waterparks, and mountain biking. The local area of Sussex County is also rich with "pick-your-own" farms, local wineries, and artisanal breweries, providing plenty of off-site entertainment options for residents of all ages. For those traveling with large RVs or trailers, the well-maintained access roads and clear signage make the journey into the heart of the mountains straightforward and safe.

Tall Timbers is committed to providing a comprehensive range of services and infrastructure to support a modern camping lifestyle. Recognizing that today's campers often bring the comforts of home with them, the association has invested in robust utility offerings. The park is designed to handle a variety of recreational vehicles, providing the necessary hookups and support services that allow for a seamless seasonal stay. The presence of on-site administrative staff and security personnel ensures that the community runs smoothly and that the rules, which protect the quiet and safety of the park, are consistently upheld.

Whether it's a morning of catch-and-release fishing or an afternoon spent lounging by the water, the lake provides a serene backdrop for all residents. What is worth choosing about Tall Timbers is the sense of permanence and investment in quality. This is not a transient stop-over, but a community designed for long-term enjoyment. Choosing Tall Timbers means choosing a lifestyle where your "camping" experience is backed by the stability of a property owners' association. For many, the ability to leave their RV or park model trailer on-site year-round (seasonal use only) removes the stress of hauling equipment and allows for spontaneous weekend getaways. The community’s focus on being "good for kids" is evident in the vast array of activities and the safe, gated environment where children can play and explore under the watchful eyes of a friendly neighborhood.

Furthermore, the value of the shared amenities is a major factor worth choosing. Access to two heated pools, a private lake, and professional-grade sports courts is typically something found in high-end resorts, yet here it is part of the daily life for owners. While some reviews mention a strict adherence to rules, many residents find that this "orderly" approach is exactly what keeps the park quiet, clean, and safe for everyone. The presence of wheelchair-accessible parking and entrances further demonstrates the community's commitment to being inclusive and accessible for all members of the family. If you are looking for a dedicated, scenic, and active community to spend your summers in Northern New Jersey, Tall Timbers Property Owners Association offers a compelling and comprehensive package that is hard to beat.

Stayed here in a rental. Note that while they are technically dog friendly, you cannot actually bring the dog to most places here without getting looks. Many times there's no sign but as soon as you try to do something with the dog someone says something to you. the owners seem to run it like a Soviet campground rather than a relaxed getaway. Note that most campgrounds I have been to are normally very dog friendly. Some camp spots are right on top of each other.

Not dog friendly. Totally misleading. We paid a lot of money to stay there and there were more issues than anything and I found it hard to relax. I would not go back.
